2023.06.02 20:30 jimmy_luv How are you guys having a hard time quitting?
I got a couple vials of something called Neptune's fix. There are a couple other brands as well so I bought them all. I don't know how many milligrams were in them but I knew what they were but I'd never had the chance to try tianeptine.. So I did. Pretty fucking awesome actually!
I've been a long time drug user, I've been shooting heroin since I was 18 anyways.. I'm 46 now. I don't really fuck around too much but I still get down every now and again. Just at this old age I'm definitely not into the addiction portion and withdrawals, I just like to get high and clean house once a month.
So those six vials I went through pretty quick... I had one a day basically for 6 days. Thing is, they were 10 bucks a piece and that's awfully expensive in my eyes. I figure I could find it cheaper online so I went around looking and it was easy as fuck to find tianeptine (I chose the sodium but they had other salt flavors available as well including the free acid) powder so I ordered 8 g. This was a lot more economical and gave me enough goods to make 50 vials I guess, it doesn't exactly tell you what the dosage is on the ones you buy at the gas station.
So fast forward 6 months from the initial eight grand purchase. I went through that and then took a month off with absolutely no withdrawal symptoms. Like literally none. So I bought another eight grams and went through that but this time I had some Suboxone just in case I got sick. But get this shit, no withdrawals again. Didn't even need to take the sub...
I introduced my best friend to it a few months ago. He doesn't get down like I do but he's done plenty of blues and percocets etc. I gave him a couple grams and he did the same thing I did with it and said the same thing, no withdrawals.
So literally I've been through I don't know, 30 g in 6 months and haven't had any in a month and still know withdrawals. So I'm curious, what the fuck are you guys doing that you need to have a sub about quitting this stuff when there's literally no withdrawals? As somebody who slammed lots of dope and knows what real withdrawals feel like This is just all mental. There's no physical anything, you just think you want to do more of it but you don't really have to. I get no diarrhea, I get no headaches I got no problem sleeping no shivers or chills...
So seriously, what are you guys doing that get you guys addicted and me thinking this stuff is no worse than sugar?

2023.06.02 20:29 jtlingard Best Mid-High Price Range Open Back Headphones for Gaming (PS5... but someday PC too) and Music?
Was wondering what the best headphones are for my current situation & would really appreciate any advice this sub can give me. Let me set the stage though.
I'm about to purchase a PS5 & I'll be playing mostly FPS games (Overwatch, Fortnite, COD, DOOM, BF) & Open-World RPGs (The Witcher III, Elden Ring, Souls games, Horizon, Ghosts of Tsushima, etc.)
I'm also a huge music guy with sensitive ears. Currently, I own a pair of ATH-M50x BT2s for general listening but want to dip my toes into some high-fidelity open-backs to really get that dynamic sound stage experience that I hear about online. But, I also want something that I can use to game. So, my priorities are some genuine musical immersion and a tactical advantage. A neutral sound is also preferred.
I'd love to stay below or at $300, but my maximum, if it truly would make that much of a difference and thoroughly satisfy my ears, is $500.
To clarify, I was planning on buying an amp/dac combo that's PS5 compatible (was recommended the Schiit Hel 2E) to drive whatever I went with, and 250ohms is probably the highest I can go due to limitations of PS5 compatible hardware. Will be pairing with an Antlion mod/mid.
Been looking into Beyerdynamic (DT 990 pro & premium & DT 1990 pro), Hifiman (Sundara), Sennheiser, and AKG products. Needless to say, there's a lot, which is why I'm asking for help.
But anyway, would love some feedback!

2023.06.02 20:29 TheGamerForeverGFE Help a fellow emulation enjoyer with their new phone choices!
(Clarification: I'm not getting a phone purely for emulation, it's just that I want the best one for emulation between my choices)
So, after 4 years I'm finally getting a new phone, my budget is quite restricted and I can't get any of the highest end stuff obviously. My choices now have boiled down to:
1_ Oneplus Nord 2 (8/128 version), it has a Dimensity 1200.
2_ Redmi Note 12 pro (8/256 version), it has a Snapdragon 732g.
3_ Oneplus Nord CE (12/256 version), it has a Snapdragon 750g.
I have scoured everywhere both new and used in my country, it's impossible to buy online (our country's credit cards don't work with online purchases), and most electronics are overpriced already, any other option either is above my budget or is out of stock in all stores over here.
They're all around the same price so that's not a deciding factor, what I want to know is which one of them would be the best offer. I know the Dimensity 1200 is the best performance wise in both native and emulation gaming but at the same time the 128Gb storage is really restrictive because you can't add an SD card and I have over 100Gb of emulated games + apparently OxygenOS is quite big in size, that's the only reason I haven't chosen it.
I also know that on paper the 750g is better but I've seen the 732g having better GPU performance.
Oh, the emulated games include Switch ones in case that's important, thanks in advance :D

2023.06.02 20:29 KillerPacifist1 On the Edge - Part 1
There is a romantic notion that the greatest discoveries in science are heralded not by a grand “Eureka!” but by the humble “Huh, that’s weird”. That minor but unexpected phenomena, when picked at, often unravel well established theories and bring about vast new understandings.
On a spaceship this notion is patently false.
On a spaceship “Huh, that’s weird” is not humble, it is insidious. A best case scenario “Huh, that’s weird” means hours of troubleshooting to confirm beyond all possible doubt that what is “weird” is only a faulty oxygen sensor and not an indication of the incipient failure of the life support system. Even then, one will spend nights awake wondering if they really did catch the problem and that they are not being slowly poisoned by an unnoticed build-up of carbon dioxide. A worst case scenario “Huh, that’s weird” means a dead ship, all hands lost.
“Huh, that’s weird,” said Ensign Mukami.
Captain Omondi’s hands tensed around the handholds.
Her last “Huh, that’s weird” had her technicians spending three days digging through the ship’s cooling conduits before finding a literal rat’s nest of wires and insulation causing an exhaust vent to overheat. They managed to clear the nest out, but several weeks and dozens of improvised traps later the rat itself had yet to be found. How a rat got on her ship in the first place is likely a mystery she will likely never solve and the mere thought of it scurrying around in her walls still gave her nightmares.
She can only hope to be equally lucky this time.
“Care to be more specific, Ensign Mukami?” Captain Omondi asked as she floated up behind the ensign’s terminal.
“Yes, sorry ma’am!” Ensign Mukami snapped to attention. Or at least as much one could in microgravity. She had clearly still been puzzling through the problem when the captain interrupted her focus. Captain Omondi doubted Ensign Mukami even realized she had invoked that ominous phrase and guessed the apology and salute were simply an automatic response to being caught off guard by a superior officer. The Captain did not like surprising those under her command. Surprises are never welcome on spaceships, but she wasn’t at all bothered if this incident contributed to the rumors growing in the lower ranks that she could read minds and predict the future. It was not unhealthy for a superior officer to have an air of mysticism about them.
“Well ma’am, I was about to send our updated positional telemetries when I noticed some… discrepancies.”
“I will ask again, Ensign Mukami. Care to be more specific?” The captain kept her frosty exterior but inwardly she sighed with relief. Strange instrument data was almost always an “hours of obnoxious troubleshooting” situation rather than an “oh god, we’re all going to die” catastrophe. “Well like I said, it started when I noticed a discrepancy between where our internal accelerometers believe we are and where our NUPRT data tells us we are.”
NUPRT, pronounced “nup-ert” and known by those averse to acronyms as Neptune-Uranus-Pluto Radio Triangulation, was the gold standard for deep space navigation. By tuning into the NUPRTs nearly continuous stream of time-stamped radio pulses, any ship operating in deep space could easily and instantaneously have an accurate fix on its position down to the meter. “So there is something wrong with our accelerometers then,” The captain asserted. NUPRT signal data was both vital and easy (i.e. cheap) to detect. This meant any ship worth its salt had at least one redundant NUPRT navigation system double checking the results from the first and to act as backup should the first break down. The Godwit had four, all physically and digitally firewalled from each other. It was inconceivable all should break down simultaneously.
“That’s what I thought too, but then I checked the actual vector coordinates the two systems were providing us.”
“And?”
Captain Omondi did not like the turn this conversation was taking. What seemed like a potentially straight-forward problem was starting to give her the same crawling feeling she got when she imagined that god damned rat in the walls.
“The accelerometers all tell us that we are on our merry way. That we are heading out of the solar system at two-point-four times the third cosmic velocity. Exactly as we expect.” An uncomfortable strain had entered the ensign’s voice as she started to ramble.
“And the NUPRT data?”
Ensign Mukami gulped. “According to NUPRT, we stopped moving about thirty minutes ago.”
It was such an unexpected thing to hear that the captain just looked dumbly at the Ensign for several seconds before her brain could properly parse the words.
“Stopped?”
“In our tracks, ma’am. Instantaneous, as far as the instruments can discern.”
“Nonsense,” the captain heard herself say.
No conceivable force could have deaccelerated the Godwit from one hundred kilometers per second in such a manner. Even if God’s own hand had reached through the vacuum to stop their motion, the Captain and the Ensign would not be around to muse upon its divine intervention. They would be too busy being the fine red mist mixed amongst the liquified metal that had once been the Godwit’s hull.
“It is nonsense,” Ensign Mukami agreed with uncharacteristic solemnity, “But our pulsar navigation systems and even an optical planetary triangulation agree with the NUPRT data.”
“Have you shown this to navigation?”
“No sir. I wanted to double check, to make sure I wasn’t… making a mistake”
Or going crazy, the she thought to herself
“Your thoroughness is well appreciated, Ensign. I will bring this to the attention of Officer Kioni personally.”
While Captain Omondi’s conscious mind was still working through the full implications of what it had learned, her instincts told her to maintain control of the narrative until she had a better handle on the situation. The most straightforward conclusion; that three independent, quintuple redundant systems all failed in the same bizarre way, was so improbable it almost more likely that the Godwit had inexplicably come to a dead stop in the vacuum of deep space. A nagging thought crawled up from Omondi’s brain stem and into her conscious mind. If fault and fact were both ruled out, only one plausible alternative remained: sabotage.
Captain Omondi was preparing to call Navigation Officer Kioni and Security Officer Njama to a private meeting when she heard Communications Officer Wambui mumble something to herself.
“Huh, that’s weird...”
“Care to be more specific, Officer?” Captain Omondi asked, feeling a strong sense of dread tinged deja vu as she redirected her path with a handhold and floated to the communications officer’s terminal.
“It appears we have lost connection to the communication tight beam linking us with central command.” Wambui said in her terse, matter of fact way.
Omondi’s heartbeat quickened.
“You caught me in the middle of troubleshooting the situation. I’ll have more information for you in a moment---”
But the captain had already sent the encrypted command for a full system lockdown and Wambui was cut off by a blaring alarm. Within three seconds, the minimum amount of time some safety engineer somewhere had deemed it necessary to clear any doorways or hatches, the entire ship violently compartmentalized.
Within moments the Godwit had ceased to be a ship. It was now dozens of isolated cells separated by vacuum tight, magnetically locked doors so impervious it would be more convenient to breach a wall than try to break through them. Access tunnels, crawlways, and vents were similarly sealed. Each room now responsible for its own life support, with the particularly small and crowded rooms only hours away from carbon dioxide poisoning.
All of this was, of course, standard issue safety procedures in the case of a breach. Any ship incapable of compartmentalization was only one micrometeor away from total pressure loss. An absurd risk to take even for the most foolhardy.
What made Omondi’s lockdown different was it isolated the rooms electronically and locked all service panels. This prevented a would-be saboteur from doing further harm to the ship, physical or digital, but also prevented crew from fixing problems or calling for help.
It also gave Omondi the sole authority to lower the lockdown, and for this she hated it deeply. To have a single point of failure, and for that point of failure to be human, was antithetical to everything the last several hundred years of space travel had taught her people. The fact it was absolutely necessary from a security perspective did nothing to assuage her.
“Listen up people!” Omondi called to her bridge crew. It was unnecessary. Shaken by the ear piercing alarm, slammed doors, and locked terminals, everyone had instinctually looked to her.
“In the last five minutes we have lost both navigation and communication systems. Given the circumstances and timing surrounding their failures, I deemed sabotage to be the most likely culprit and, with the authority vested in me as the captain of the Godwit, I have unilaterally invoked a comprehensive security lockdown and with it assumed absolute control of the ship’s systems. Does anyone dissent my decision or my authority to make it?”
As expected, the room remained deathly silent. This was a formality whose main purpose was to inform her immediate crew members what was going on, confirm her actions were following established protocol, and, most importantly, reassure them that she was still sane. Crew in other compartments would simply need to accept their ignorance and swallow their panic for the time being.
She sent a command and the navigation terminal lit up.
“Officer Kioni, I have temporarily granted you access to your terminal again. Ensign Mukami, please get her up to speed on the problems you identified in our navigation systems. Be warned, the terminal will lock again in ten minutes unless I directly intervene.”
This problem required her to put some trust in her crew, but she did not plan on giving any more than absolutely required. It was another protocol she both agreed with and despised.
She sent a second command and the communications terminal flashed blue.
“Officer Wambui, while Ensign Mukami brings Kioni up to speed, let’s see what we can make of our communications problem.” She continued, louder so everyone on the bridge could hear her. “We have roughly three hours to solve this problem before we start to take asphyxiation casualties in the more cramped segments. We will not let that happen.”

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so
on.As
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there,
too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.

2023.06.02 20:28 not_a_neet_Srysly Is anyone else here extremely anxious about the AI-driven dystopian future about to hit society and employability?
I find it absurd how so many people dismiss or downplay this feeling of concern for the future just because they have some shallow skepticism about technology advancements.
For those who are already employed, this may take a few more years to become a major problem, but imagine the mind of someone who is currently studying:
Imagine a 14-year-old teenager who is considering pursuing a certain profession. Considering that this person will follow the traditional path of finishing high school, attending college, and only getting a job after graduation, he/she will only enter the job market in about
8 years, almost a decade. With generative AI's advancing exponentially, and considering that the first AGI may emerge in the next decade, which job will actually survive all that time without it's market becoming
saturated,
precarious, or even
extinct due to competition with AI? And how will these people continue to study and live normally knowing that the future is so uncertain?
"But this has already happened before in the industrial revolutions, and in the end, everything turned out fine!"
All past industrial revolutions were about machines replacing humans in manual labor jobs. Now it's different, Generative Artificial Intelligences can replace humans even in
creative,
intellectual, and
complex areas, replacing people who have studied for years and years in industries we never imagined that could have robots performing it, demolishing the concept of
"stable jobs". The potential for damage is much greater because humanity has never experienced this level of
mass automation of specialized jobs before.
"It will only replace you if you are lazy and don't adapt to it!
Generative AI will not
(yet) directly replace you, they will multiply your productivity and make your job easier to the point where the job of 10 people can now be done by only 1 person, allowing companies to
lay off several people to
cut costs and
increase profits.
In the end, specialized individuals (even if they have "adapted" to AI tools) will be replaced by a single prompter with basic (but enough) knowledge of the field who charges much less to deliver the same result. When people say
"AI will create more jobs" they're actually referring to this without knowing.
Except for the highly specific and technical jobs that envolves the programming itself of these technologies, the mass of these "new jobs" are all about
replacing people with less people, and
producing more for the
same salary.
This will lead to a social situation where it will be practically
impossible to get into any job if you have never worked in that area before, as the demand for workers is expected to be laughably low due to the high productivity that technology advancements provides, and the large number of individuals who are no longer useful in any area, but still need a job to live.
Summing it up, you
will be replaced, but with extra steps.
"AI doesn't have the "human factor."
In our system, convenience and profit outweighs quality.
Imagine the following situation: a company needs a artwork for a banner. They can pay the full price to hire a specialized human artist or literally pay
nothing to have a slightly inferior result produced by Stable Diffusion open source AI. Which option do you think they will choose?
(This situation ignores the fact that AI's can create thousands of different artworks in minutes for the best one to be chosen or modified). If AI competition made you charge 90% less to work the same hours, your job is already
dead. It doesn't need to literally vanish, and that's the point.
Videos generated by AI are laughably bad, right? Just like images generated by AI were
one year ago... Does that mean something to you? Apply that to freelance music production, 3d modelling and programming as well; Or basically every job, depending on how far into the future you're willing to think. I'm only talking about the next two decades.
Basically, AI doesn't have to embody the perfection of a human to fuck up an entire market area, it simply needs to make everything easier and more accessible, to the point where people no longer feel the need to hire a human to do it. So, there is no such thing as the "human factor" as long as the AI does what needs to be done.
"This automation will only affect jobs exclusively done in computers."
GPT-4 can already understand audio, images, and text in an almost human-like manner. It's impossible not to see the enormous potential this has to affect various areas beyond the typical "office work." But even if we assume that only computer-based jobs are affected, that would already be enough to cause a
mass migration of workers to
other areas, which would heavily impact those areas since there wouldn't be enough jobs for everyone. Medicine could be one of them, as it is a field that will not be negatively affected by AI for now.
" If you think AI will replace you, that says more about you than the AI itself. "
That's actually true in my case. I'm a 22-year-old isolated NEET/shut-in/Hikikomori. I don't talk to anyone, i didn't go to university and I never had a job, I simply stay in my room all day mostly doing nothing because I don't find pleasure in anything. Although I generally don't feel many emotions, the only thing that makes me cry is this overwhelming feeling of
hopelessness about the future. It's terrible to think that I can't contribute anything to society and i never will, it feels like I was born in the
worst era to start doing anything at all. The era where everyone has done everything, every market is saturated or extremely competitive, no one wants workers, too much people is trying to overcome you, rental prices are unrealistic high in anywhere, and everything is just going to get
worse and worse... It's just too much information for someone whose parents didn't teach him anything about the world. I was just irresponsibly thrown at a school (An ambient truly hated since i was a kid) and now society magically wants me to have the willpower and competence to compete with ultra-intelligent robots and ultra-motivated people who were taught to be competitive by their parents. I was a lone kid with no parents around but my mother.
Anyway, I am not in a therapy session, and I don't want to be the harbinger of the apocalypse, but I am obviously quite pessimistic about the future. Automation would theoretically be exclusively positive, and I think it will eventually be, but the problem lies in the transition to that. In the next two decades, many people will totally lose their value in the job market, and the government has no
plan to contain this or provide any
social security for the population that will become
unemployed.
Currently, I'm trying to learn Unreal Engine and Video Editing so that I can engage in something valuable to earn some money. However, this constant mental struggle and uncertainty about the future prevent me from maintaining consistency in my efforts. It truly feels like dying is the most reasonable option for me so that I won't be a burden to anyone, but I'm making an effort to stay alive and do things correctly.
I hope to become a little more optimistic and overcome this lack of perspective i have so that I can accomplish tasks and genuinely experience emotions again. However, the future seems doomed and artificial, and I'm not sure if i wanna live in it.
Thanks if you read it till the end. I tried to make the text more readable by using a lot of paragraphs and bold words. Have a nice day.

2023.06.02 20:28 ociln Comparing Two Agencies
Hey everyone! New EMT here trying to decide between two agencies for my first job.
Agency A:
- already have a job offer
- would be working 911
- $23/hour
- unsure about pay increase for nights/weekends/events
- sometimes known for not having the best work environment or patient care
Agency B:
- no job offer yet but assuming I'll receive one soon
- would start with IFT but could eventually switch to 911
- $22/hour
- over $900/year of union dues plus $800 initiation
- $3/hour increase for weekends, $5/hour increase for events
- generally seems to have good work environment
- seem to have greater emphasis on quality of care
The pros of A are that I'd be making more money, no union fees, and would be working 911 immediately, but I am slightly concerned about the work environment. Thoughts on this?

2023.06.02 20:28 Designer-Ad-5283 Today I've left the job after a year
So today I have resigned from the role of police constable, which I had thought was my dream job, in GMP after exactly one year since starting the role. This is more to document my thoughts, findings and feelings. A debrief for myself, if you will.
I'm a tad older than most who started, being in my mid 30s. I had a world of confidence in talking to people in my previous role which put me in good stead when out and about finally dealing with the public. Being a police officer was something i'd thought about doing for years, but life sometimes gets in the way. in 2022 I finally took the plunge and got in, I was over the moon and found a sense of purpose I'd never had before, in a professional sense.
I wanted to grasp it all with 2 hands. I enjoyed the uni side, even though most didn't, and took it as an opportunity to learn about the role before being thrown into the deep end.
Finally landing on district (I won't say which, but it's a busy one), my first observations were that the cops weren't exactly a welcoming bunch. There was a weird atmosphere in the nick and in the tutor unit. I chalked it up to everyone being stressed and busy.
There's an assumption on you as an individual that you're ready out the box when you start the tutor phase. You really are thrown into situations, which I didn't mind as that's the way I learn best.
From speaking to colleagues, this period with your tutor is very hit and miss and can make or break you. You'd assume that tutors would actively want to tutor, but it's not often the case.
After 5 weeks I was signed off as independent, and this is the point where you really get shafted with workload. You'd be put on appointment duty, flying from address to address, not knowing what was waiting for you and picking up the crimes along the way. As a rookie, this was very intimidating. I could be finishing the day picking up a high risk domestic crime, not having a clue how to progress it.
Throughout your set of shifts such is the demand of GMP, you'd also get allocated crimes from a queue that officers hadn't responded to. This was very much a tombola of crap you'd either not have the time to sort, or not have a clue how to sort.
I slowly started to see that the aim of the job was to not deal with crimes as they should be, but actively avoid them and close them off as soon as possible. This was very disappointing to me as it's not what I'd envisioned.
I came round to this way of working, trying to be proactive and squeeze in quick visits to victims addresses in between jobs (which was insanely difficult) and trying my best to get crimes closed, such was the volume given out to each officer. It's very overwhelming seeing your crime page populate with 20-30 crimes, all needing action. There could be anything from urgent arrest attempts to CCTV trawls within these crimes you'd not done any primary on.
The unmanageable workload is then compounded by a team of office bods who have no idea what the stresses of response policing are like, who review every crime you send for closure. It's their job to scrutinise every closure rationale and you'd often have crimes sent back to you after a week of closing it as they have decided you've essentially not done a good enough job in the first instance. The bureaucracy is ludicrous.
All this is before files. Dreaded files. At no point are you shown how to do a file. Any arrest on a shift and it's game over, you'd be pretty much guaranteed to get off late due to completing a file that will tomorrow be binned off anyway after interview.
Now onto briefings, which felt like a daily rollocking. For what is such a demanding and stressful job, support from supervision was few and far between. I'm not sure if it's a power thing, a culture thing, or a bit of both. What I didn't appreciate was supervision micromanaging before a ten hour shift. If cops can't be at least civil with each other, what's the point? The people out on the streets sure aren't. Again, something is just 'off' about the culture. Many who join straight from college or uni probably won't see it as much, but i've had a few jobs and life experience, and something just didn't sit right.
I thought I was loving the job, until one day, I came round to thinking actually no, this isn't quite right. I was going into work miserable. Finishing on time was a rarity and starting a shift not having a clue when you'd get back home became draining.
I just decided life is too short. I can earn better money in a less frosty, stressful environment without working hours that take over your life. You get zero work/life balance. I've not even got onto the diploma you're expected to complete in your spare time in order to become substantive as a constable. This isn't a job, it's a life, which may work for some, but I started to realise I was spending my rest days either exhausted, or worrying about my next shift. Life is too short.
I never got the sense the cops was a 'nice' place to work. The default culture is to moan, and after a year I can see why. It's a role you either stick at and become hardened yourself, or get out before that point. I chose the latter.

2023.06.02 20:28 captaincraigen [NA][Central/East][IGL/Support/Rifler] Looking for Team
https://steamcommunity.com/id/captaincraigen/3k hours alone this year so far.
Extremely dedicated CS player. I know my role very well and I know how to lead a team as an IGL as well.
Currently LE but I've played with a lot of my IRL friends and usually lose with them, and if I'm not playing with them I solo queue only pretty much and I'm the best player on my team almost every game. Although stats don't tell everything, I track my stats and I will just say it speaks for itself.
I'd like to find a team or duo or trio to play MM with a hit global. If a team is already close to complete I'm also down to fill in and try out for the roster. Whatever happens from there, happens. Feel free to just add me, I'm only on reddit to post this.
I'm looking for players with a winning mindset. And preferably MGE+ if you add me for MM.

2023.06.02 20:27 DaybreakByHaggins Short term solutions for a dog that won’t pee in the yard?
I’m dog sitting a lab-greyhound mix who is an absolutely lovely lady inside the house, literally no issues at all, but she pulls harder than I can handle. I was doing okay with it until yesterday when she fully pulled me out into the street bc I couldn’t get traction on the ground through the leaves and I no longer feel safe taking her on full walks (my dog sitting ends Saturday, I don’t have to work with her much longer) but she simply will not use the bathroom in the yard.
I’ve tried to give her time, she won’t even sniff the grass, at best she sits down and just stares at me- and more often she’s pulling as hard as she can to get me down the sidewalk, not interested in anything else whatsoever. I can’t just make her hold it she’s going to get a UTI, she’s frequently holding it 12+ hours even when I’m taking her on a proper walk to give her every chance I can. Even with multiple blocks she sometimes just won’t go, will not sniff the grass, fights me to not walk in the grass at all. Zero interest, even after very clearly whining and needing to go to the bathroom, and continuing to whine about it after we come back in.
What can I do to at least make sure this dog relieves herself until her family takes her for training?

2023.06.02 20:27 blazindoodads 80-100gpd taper started
I’m brand new here so I just wanted to say hi. I’ve been reading this forum since last night and it’s given me the gusto to kick this awful habit. I was doing 80-100gpd for at least 5 years and I’m scared as hell but also VERY excited to finally rid myself of this awful plant. Without getting into personal details I have many, many great reasons to rid myself of this and I am more than ready.
I am afraid that I’m trying to cut back too much at once though. I started this morning and normall by this time (woke up at 8am and it’s 2pm now) I would have taken 20-30g. I will buy a scale if I can’t find my old but for now I have been using the 2.5g per teaspoon chart I found online. I have taken 3 doses spread out 3 hours. So, figure 7.5g. Im worried that going from 30g in 6 hours to 7.5 may be too much, too quick. I don’t feel great but I did kick dope and subs CT about a decade ago so I know it could be worse. Im not even sure why I’m writing this except to maybe ease my process by sharing with others who have been there. I do not fear relapse as I never want to touch this garbage again. I will do this. It’s just a question of how long it takes me and how sick I want to be. God bless you guys.

2023.06.02 20:25 iLikeMoldyBread questions about the bathroom law as a young guy in florida
i'm 17 and ftm, and i live in flora-hell. i've been training really hard to get a nice job at an IT workforce. i'm really exited!! i love technology (and the high paycheck). but i'm really worried about one thing, i'm only able to transition once i'm 18 (and when i have the money). according to desantis, there is a new law that transgeder folks cannot use their bathroom.
i really wanna go on T and transition, but how the heck would a big hairy masc guy like me go into the womens restroom. that's silly!! i'm scared i would get beat up, or yelled at at best. i really don't wanna stay in the closet any longer, but i fear that i must.
i know you guys are gonna suggest that i should move out of florida asap, but i'm buying my first house here for personal reasons. do you guys have any other advice on what i should so? thanks :]

2023.06.02 20:25 arealbigballer Severe allergic reaction from HCG and/or mod GRF 1-29
Last night I injected 250iu HCG, and 100mcg of each mod GRF 1-29/ipamorelin (around 33iu total liquid), I did this subQ in my thigh. Shortly after, I noticed large hives, my skin became very red and flushed. At this point I took a cold shower cause I felt like I was on fire, in the shower it only got worse, my hands became to feel like they were engorged with fluid, and my lips started swelling. I got out and took my BP/HR, BP was ~85/60 (typical for me is 125/80), and HR was 115 typical being 65. Now I noticed when I was talking my voice sounded hoarse and my face looked like a damn baloon, this seemed like telltale signs of anaphylaxis. So I decided to go to the ER, because with my insurance that's the best bet, during the drive of 30ish minutes all the symptoms got better, especially voice and lips. When I got there the second I said allergic reaction, the nurse took me back and gave me ephedrine, benadryl, and SOLU-MEDROL. One was IM in quad, and the rest was through IV, not sure what else they gave me though, I was there for ~4 hours before they sent me back. I told them I'm self-administering hcg that is not pharmaceutical grade for bodybuilding, and that's about it. To be honest I don't really remember what they said other then I'm stupid for doing this and don't do it again or I could die. They also gave me an epipen, prednisone, and benadryl prescription. I've been doing peptides, HCG, and high all from QDS including the BAC water for roughly 4 months (HCG 6 weeks). In the past the worst I've had is a small hive right on the injection site from the hcg. At this point, I'm not sure what my best course of action would be because I'm not sure what it is that I'm allergic to, be it the peptide/hcg itself, a filler in the lyophilized product, or the BAC water. I'll try to get pharma grade hcg, and until I do I just won't use it. As for the mog GRF/ipamorelin, I will also not use those, and I'll take a week break from the HGH. I've NEVER had any history of allergies of any sort. What I'm currently taking (none is pharma except modafinil): HCG 250iu E/O mod GRF 1-29/ipamorelin 100mcg each 3x per day, E/O Generic HGH 15iu E/O Test C 250 mg E/3D Dbol 20mg ED Telmisartan 20mg ED Tadalifil 5mg E/O Adex 1mg ED/O
