2023.06.08 23:57 roninzi 60fps cap on all games

Specs - RTX 3070, 165hz Monitor Asus I've been really struggling with this issue ive encountered randomly over the last month. While playing Valorant, I've noticed my nvidia in-game overlay fps counter constantly being stuck at 60fps. My valorant ingame fps counter will show 300+ while my nvidia fps counter right underneath will be locked at 60fps. I can tell theres a clear difference in the gameplay as well so I know something is wrong. VSYNC is off in game and in control panel. Ive selected 165hz in display properties and nvidia control panel as well. Reinstalled Drivers and have closed every application running apart from Valorant and its still constantly locked at 60fps. At one point i chose to forget about nvidia ingame overlay fps counter and tried to play but im genuinely having a terrible gameplay experience. Please help, nothing online has helped me out. This makes no sense, its like the computer one day decided to get locked at 60fps...

2023.06.08 23:55 JULI_GAMER1 "System" slowing down Filetransfer

Recently, i have noticed my M.2 SSD having huge latency spikes up to thousands of milliseconds, even though i thought i would be finally freed from this problem, having my 5th PC. (All Windows, 3 still in-use). But the Problem is as worse as on every PC i have/had. Also, when i tested python executed Software, "System" was also the top service using any drive (according to Taskmanager), even though it reads 0.1MBps all the time. This signifficantly slowed the python executed program down, to where it didnt even utalize my Hardware at all (which it should). I have tried tutorials telling me to mess with Pagefiles, Services an Regedit... No change... Same goes for "Antimalware Service executeable". Brings Filetransfers almost to a halt sometimes, not stopping with Realtime protection disabled and exceptions in Defender in place for the affected Programs. That doesnt fix the issue as well. I know this is a widespread Problem but is there any way to fixthis issue?
Currently: i5 13600KF RTX3060 12GB Kingston PCIE 4.0 OS SSD Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4 32GB Corsair RGB RAM @ 3,2GHz
Previous:
i7 4790K GTX1080 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 2,4GHz Asus ROG Maximus Hero VII SATA OS SSD
Previous:
i7 4770K GTX 1060 6GB 16GB DDR3 @ 1,6GHz HP 800 G1 Mainboard SATA OS SSD
The Same issue in the same capacity on all systems.

2023.06.08 23:37 CCupidIsSoDumb Oblivious to pc parts.. need help :’)

Woo, made a Reddit account just for this. So I’ve never built a pc before and I honestly don’t know a lot, though I’ve spent years watching Linus I guess I don’t pick up too easy. I’m just coming on here to ask for a little help from the community I know can help me best, this is my current list of parts I’m going with, but I need to know if these are good and would work together :”)
AMD Ryzen™ 7 5700X, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Ti AERO OC, ID-COOLING AURAFLOW X 240 (still not 110% sure on that), Asiahorse FS-9002 Pro (6 pack), Samsung 980 PRO 1TB ssd, 750W Fully Modular RGB Power Supply (Brand is GAMEMAX.. idk how reliable that is.), ASUS ROG Strix B550-A, TEAM-GROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR4 16GB, and the Corsair 4000D airflow for the case.
So sorry for such a long message, I’m just really looking for some help here :,)

2023.06.08 23:33 DavidsSk8Lyfe No signal on display

So I recently moved and put my PC back together, and I'm facing issues with my monitor showing no signal.
I've tested different PCI-E slots for my GPU / tested 3 of my GPU display ports, and am just hoping to god it's the cable. I had it bent up against a wall in my last place. Recently I re-applied thermal paste on my GPU and it works fine by the looks of it... But the display turns off every now and again and doesn't turn back on.
Specs:
CPU - i7-7700K Kaby Lake
Motherboard - STRIX Z270H Gaming K/1
RAM - 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz
GPU - GTX 1080ti FE 11GB
PSU - 1000W
Turn PC on = works fine for a while then display cuts off (no signal) and doesn't return (all fans continue to spin). Sometimes when I turn it on I see my motherboards orange light that doesn't flicker (no case fan spin), sometimes it goes to boot then signal turns off again after some time.
Ideas??
PS: I did spill water on my PC a year or 2 ago, so my front USBs are bust but I still continued to use my PC with no problems up till now.

Worth selling 2021 model for the BestBuy deal on the 2022?
I've been quite happy with my current model (5900HS/3060/QHD 120hz/1TB) that I got last July for around $1200 before tax, but seeing the current BB deal is making me wonder if it's worth it to upgrade (mainly for all the QOL improvements, plus the nice little performance bump), and if I could maybe even sell my current one for enough to make it an even trade, or close to it. Any advice? I'm using it for gaming and for my CS degree.

2023.06.08 23:26 homefry91834 Xperia 1 III vs Asus Rog 6 on tmobile in USA

I need to upgrade from my LG v60 and I've narrowed it down to these two phones.
My heart is saying Asus, but I'm not really a mobile gamer and the Sony Xperia has a card slot.
Generally speaking, I use my phone to interact with my PC and appreciate as little bloatware as possible. I use headphones with a jack, and need a long battery life. The ROG 6 is tempting, but I am pretty bad at dropping my phone so I feel that the Xperia may be a safer bet in that regard. The ROG is also quicker, but if I am not gaming, I don't know if that speed is necessary.

Is there anything I'm not considering? Do owners of either phones have thoughts they'd like to add?
Thanks!

2023.06.08 22:59 MurderofCrowzy What manufacturers do you think are going to sell the upcoming RTX Chromebooks?

I remember back when I first got wind of the project it sounded like HP was a project partner when it was still Agah, but now that we're looking at Cora and Zeus, which appear to be individual SKUs, I have to wonder who we're going to see slap their logo on these devices when they're launched.
I think it would be really cool if HP was still in on this project and had some baseline stuff for their HyperX peripherals. But for other potential logos we'd see on these products, I'd guess any of Acer, Asus, or Lenovo as they were the first to dip their toes into Chromebook gaming with the "cloud gaming" Chromebooks that launched a while ago.
Curious to know what you guys think; I'm very excited to see this project hit release.

2023.06.08 22:56 dwsmithjr SignalRGB Cooling does not detect GPU temp

I have a new ROG Strix RTX 4080 OC. When configuring fan curves there is only one selectable sensor, one for the CPU. There is no sensor for the GPU. The GPU is detected for RGB and in the PC Monitoring for other metrics, but not temperature.
So, I can't set any case fan speeds based on GPU temps.
Does anyone else have this issue? Do you have this modle card where the temperature is detected in SignalRGB?

2023.06.08 22:46 heatlesssun Will the Ally be successful and will it help mainstream PC gaming handhelds?

While I think the Steam Deck is nice and Valve has done a great job with it technically, they never tried to market it seriously. And while Steam OS is quite good, full access the Windows ecosystem is even better.
I know that the Ally's battery life is a bit iffy especially above 15Ws and no track pads, but the more reviews I'm seeing, the more it seems that Asus is serious and has made a lot of strides with Amory Crate. And I know some think that Windows 11 on a device like this sucks, I really don't see how Steam OS is truly better, especially once you go outside Steam.
Not trying to make this yet another Deck vs. Ally debate, just wondering if you think the Ally help take PC gaming handhelds further into the mainstream than the Deck already has?

2023.06.08 22:45 Adept_Handle-_1999 Low FPS for this tier hardware?

I bought a used Strix 3090 to upgrade from a 2060. I’m still at 1080p cause I wanted a 280hz monitor(which I now have).I downloaded Fortnite to specifically test an easier game, maximum 160 fps at 1080 max settings(minus rtx), Warzone 1 and 2 within +/-10, and Vanguard about 170. Are there windows/bios settings I’m missing bottlenecking it? Or is it just a bd combo for 1080p?
Aorus B660m, I7-12700k, 64g hyperx-2666 (yeah, ik) Strix RTX 3090, Corsair RM850x, 500g WD black gen 4 nvme, 2tb Samsung 870evo,
Edit: power isn’t an issue as far as I can tell. Gpu will suck back 450w full tilt in games and is run with 3 dedicated 8-pins
