I've had my 2009 A3 since 2012 and the speakers have lasted all this time (surprising, since I like a lot of bass), but over the weekend, the front right speaker has finally decided to give out, giving that staticky, busted sound.
I've done plenty of work on my car myself, but this will be the first time replacing a speaker. If I'm just replacing the speaker, do I need to mess with any wiring? I don't plan on getting any special type speaker.

I don't know if I actually need to poke any more holes in crypto rationale or lack thereof. But one thing I notice is that crypto people tend to fantasize about some doomsday scenario where the global financial system melts down completely and leaves the crypto economy as king by default (and leaving early adopters high and dry, obviously). But also, this global crisis would ostensibly have to leave the internet intact in order for crypto to continue functioning, right?
Don't get me wrong. Here I am on Reddit. Obviously I love the internet. And I'm no survivalist; I kind of go through life assuming that I will leave the world essentially the same as I came into it. But I am kind of skeptical of putting literally everything, including things required to live a functional daily life, on the internet. There have been times in my life, even my recent life, where I have not had internet access. I've been in remote areas where there's no signal, I've experienced natural disasters where the electricity or telecom lines are down, for days. And my first thought about the whole El Salvador thing was "really? Does every farmer in El Salvador who wants to sell their crops or whatever actually have the internet?" I know there have been times in my life where I've been stuck somewhere and I would have been shit out of luck if I hadn't had a $20 bill in my wallet.
It just seems really foolish to me to want a world in which you must have internet access in order to do any sort of monetary transaction. Also, it seems highly likely to me that any sort of event that actually threatens the traditional global financial system would probably take the internet down with it, and then all of the precious funny money would be gone (or at least temporarily inaccessible). Are these people so attached to the internet that they can't even imagine a world without it?

My CEL came on in my 2012 Passat SEL 2.5 last monday during a longer than normal drive but not quite a road trip and NOTHING seemed wrong, I did not have time to get the cold read until that weekend, then when I’m headed out Saturday morning to go to get the code read, I start the car that morning and it stays on for a few seconds after starting up, then it’s gone, just turned off, so I drove around for a while to see if it came back and nothing. Perhaps it was just a glitch?

They're also my ex. I'll try to be brief but idk that's hard. From the start when we gave them a place to stay where I live with my mom, they promised they'd move out in 1 or 2 months without rent in exchange for extra chores, there was instability at their previous place and they had a mental breakdown through text, a series of very many texts that expressed all they needed was a stable home, so I reacted in panic by offering them a place.
Bc their ADHD they would struggle to look for work and frequently not follow up with it, and lo and behold they're still here after over 3 years. They also frequently do not do chores and also leave a mess for me and my mom to clean. Eventually my mom was over it. Not only did they never lay any living expenses here including food, she even cooked for them sometimes. They did eventually start doing lyft though but it's hard to make enough since they have the lyft rental.
They never got their ADHD treated despite me finding them an assessment and also I have autism so it's not easy for me either. I finally gave them a therapy mandate---I told them it's required.
Throughout the relationship they have mentioned that they'd rather commit suicide than be homeless. It was never stated as a threat, but for me, I always remember it. And now my mom gave them a deadline so they had another mental breakdown (they had them on and off many times the past 3 years, many of which resulted in me offering them money for their debts.)
So my mom finally set her foot down, gave them a deadline (2 months) and since they had their breakdown, they said they'd really actually change.
Well, since then this past weekend they barely worked. I was understanding on Friday since it was fresh and they said they were too anxious. But Saturday they only worked a bit, maybe an hour or two. Then yesterday they asked me to give them back rub so they can have some comfort before work. I did so, but they didn't work.
The entire day they spent at home. If you guys know lyft, supposedly weekends are more lucrative, and they just skipped this weekend despite insisting they'd change.
I, who have been struggling with my own anxiety since their last mental breakdown, just lost control today. I shouted at them, saying that they only think about their own mental health while I'm falling apart dealing with this, and how I always walked on eggshells not to set off another mental breakdown around them.
Well, I think it probably made them feel worse. I'm trying so hard because I don't want them to kill themselves. I don't know what to do. I don't believe anything they'll say anymore because all the times they didn't follow through. I don't think I can handle this anymore.
I also know for sure that if they do end up committing suicide it's going to affect me for the rest of my life. I'm already traumatized about my dad's dead from illness and feeling responsible. I don't think I'll be able to move on if they kill themselves.
I also struggled with being suicidal in the past and used to self-harm. And I do so much to try to keep myself mentally healthy because of it.
I'm also currently waiting for the finalization of my Healthcare packet so I can get therapy, too.
Anyone have advice?

first, thank you for this podcast, I've been binge listening for the past couple of weeks, and it really has made me stop and think about what I was force fed as a child. I was just listening to the episode about Josh leaving the church and I figured I would share my story as well.
some beginning information, I'm a 21 year old transwoman who lived with, and was homeschooled by, my grandparents and I used to go to a rural Ohio Church, it was a small family church that didn't really belong to any specific sect. I'm not sure if I ever truely believed in all of the teachings, but I remember being terrified of hell so I was at least that far in.
What really drove a wedge into my belief was the story of Judas, I was always taught that both; Judas was a terrible person who would go to hell, and that Jesus was destined to be betrayed. But I could never come to terms that a just God would force a man to go hell, so that Jesus could die for our sins.
What REALLY hit the wedge and shattered my faith, was the death of my mom, she was a non-believer, and my grandma was NOT gentle about telling me that she was going to hell. Keep in mind I'm 13-14 when this is happening, this FUCKED me UP for a looong time. my mom was a good person, she did drugs, and hung out with not the best people, but she truely loved me, and I could not fathom why she would be punished for enternity even though she was such a wonderful woman.
Eventually I came to the realization that it was all lies, built with the express purpose of tricking people, the path to realization was rocky and it took alot of deprogramming, because when you are a Christian, you don't realize just how much of a racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, piece of shit you are! In your mind you are "helping these people find God." Even to this day, I'll catch myself in a homophobic lie that was drilled into me during my days in church.
Eventually, the absolute final straw, was discovering I was transgender when I was about 18, and knowing that if I were to come out, every religious person I knew would absolutely hate my guts.
Anyway I've been typing way longer then I thought would be so I'll end this here, thank you again for this podcast, it really has helped me realize, just how silly it is to believe that this clearly imperfect book is the Word of God Himself.

Hi, this is my first post on here. I don't remember how I found this subreddit but it helped me realize that I'm not the only one with a problem like that. I'm 24/F and my boyfriend 23/M and I have been together since 3 years. I don't necessarily see myself as HL but he's LL for sure. We never had that much sex and I was perfectly fine with it until we moved together and now it came down to once in 2 or 3 weeks. At the beginning of our relationship, he (not often but sometimes) initiated and that made me feel attractive and wanted. I always struggled with my body image and weight. But now he does not seem to have any interest in initiating at all and that makes me really sad and disappointed. It's not that he rejects me whenever I try to initiate, he wants it too. But nothing ever comes from him. I totally understand that he has a stressful job and that there are many thoughts going around in his head. That's what he told me at least. We've discussed it many times and he doesn't even know why, he always says that's the way he is. We both were in a relationship before and he once said that he had more sex with his ex girlfriend. Well I had more sex with my ex boyfriend too because it wasn't that one-sided... I just don't know what to do anymore. It's not that I always want to have sex 24/7, I want intimacy, the feeling of being desired and not having to start every damn time. Thanks for hearing me out. Me (30f) had a 3 years relationship with my now ex-boyfriend (27M). Little recap we met at work back in May 2019 and got in a fckfriends relationship. None of us wanted to have one so we used to just go out, do whatever we needed and then to our homes. I began feeling something and since we agreed to end everything if something like this happened then I proceed as we agreed and ended everything before something else happened.
My brother used to play COD with him and like 2 month after we ended he invited him to our town for the weekend (this was in December 2019) and told him to bring me to spent holidays with the family. We agreed and in that weekend we reconnect and decided to be together since after our “separation” he began thinking that he also felt the same way with me. By January 2020 I move into his apartment so we can live together since my job at that time was way more convenient near his apartment than mine.
By the time the pandemic started we notice we were expecting our first baby (now 2 years old girl) and since everything happen so fast he decided to take me to his parents house to live (by that time I only met them once in December) since everything was going to close.
His parents had a house and prepare the house so we can live together and by July 2020 we move in that house.
Fast forward this time (take into consideration that we haven’t had the best communication but somehow maybe ignoring everything we manage to tolerate both of us) Also keep in mind we had another baby girl that at this moment is 8month old. Since I breastfeed we haven’t had any time for ourselves non intimancy whatsoever. My body is not the same as before I had my girls and I had 2 C-sections. So trying to recover from that have been really difficult and exhausting for me (not trying to excuse myself I try to do the best I can with the time I got since I left my job to become a stay at home mom as we agreed he would bring food and money and I will stay at home)
Last week on Saturday my ex boyfriend lost his grandfather (95M) a sad lost I gave him the information since he was at work and they told me that first. And on Sunday we went to be with his family and I was there with them until 10PM something like that. He had to work and couldn’t have a leave to attend those days so everything went normal at home. That entire week I text his mom through whatsapp a few times to ask about everything and send her pictures and videos of her granddaughters so she can have something to help her get better of the lost of her father.
My 2 years old is at school and is something really important to me to teach her to be responsible with that. Keep Also in mind that this was the same way my mom teach my brother and I and this is my experience with school. My ex boyfriend had a different experience since he used to pay baseball and had an especial treatment at school since he only went to take the exam and send homework. So he didn’t have to attend everyday.
He asked me on Saturday if we can skip school to spent Sunday and Monday (his days off) at his moms house. I said that on Monday my 2 years old had school and I don’t fell like it was necessary for her to skip school if she can spent the entire Sunday with him and his family. He then told me that he understand how things are and that if I didn’t wanted to go i am an adult and is not necessary for me to attend and that we are going to do what is important to each one and he left. (Yes I could go and take everything to do the costume at my mil house but since I breastfeed my experience whenever I need to do something is trying to talk to anyone to take my 2 years old for me. To be able to complete whatever task I’m doing and if my little baby begin to cry they always say that is that she needed to be feed and the milk I extract so that they can feed her was not enough so they handle her for brestfeeding to me so I didn’t want to have that same experience again and to be able to have that time for myself)
He then left on Sunday alone to his moms house and left me with the kids since it was not important to him that they spend that time like I suggest.
On Monday he came and told that on Sunday everyone in his family went and that his cousin wife that have a job and 3 kids went also and help with the cooking (to clarify his cousin family live near his family and they have a lot of help of his and her parents and pays someone to help with the house chores )
And then things began to turn to the dark bad side because every time I try to say something he interrupts me saying something himself that I didn’t said and were his version of the things that happened (our lack of communication usually started like that since I shut up myself when he began talking at the same time and didn’t give me the opportunity to express myself ) and he said that since his family and him were not important to me is better to end our relationship (he say that cursing and yelling) and I agreed we ended since I have no strength to keep trying what we had. After a few more thing like he telling me that I don’t have to use HIS car to pick up our daughter at school (we had one car only) and that if I don’t respect him as a partner I have to respect him as a person as a man and say and do whatever he said and I told him in not his daughter so I don’t have to and then there was more cursing and yelling from his side and since I don’t want to keep arguing with him because I understand how he is feeling right now but I wanted to have sometime for myself I just wanted to know if aita in this situation.

On Monday he came and told that on Sunday everyone in his family went and that his cousin wife that have a job and 3 kids went also and help with the cooking (to clarify his cousin family live near his family and they have a lot of help of his and her parents and pays someone to help with the house chores )
And then things began to turn to the dark bad side because every time I try to say something he interrupts me saying something himself that I didn’t said and were his version of the things that happened (our lack of communication usually started like that since I shut up myself when he began talking at the same time and didn’t give me the opportunity to express myself ) and he said that since his family and him were not important to me is better to end our relationship (he say that cursing and yelling) and I agreed we ended since I have no strength to keep trying what we had. After a few more thing like he telling me that I don’t have to use HIS car to pick up our daughter at school (we had one car only) and that if I don’t respect him as a partner I have to respect him as a person as a man and say and do whatever he said and I told him in not his daughter so I don’t have to and then there was more cursing and yelling from his side and since I don’t want to keep arguing with him because I understand how he is feeling right now but I wanted to have sometime for myself I just wanted to know if aita in this situation.

Who am I? I am Scott Pilgrim, 22 years old. I am dating a 17 year old Chinese girl named Knives Chau who goes to a Catholic high school. People judge me for dating a high schooler. I've lost feelings for her as my eyes are now set on Ramona Flowers. Breaking up with Knives is too hard for me right now because it hurts so much to be alone. But I won't let that stop me from getting with Ramona. After all, she is my dream girl. By the way, I'm in a band and I share a bed with a gay roommate. I've been dumped about a year ago and I haven't had a haircut ever since; I've been cutting it myself. I think my hair looks too shaggy and I worry what others think about it. The drummer in my band is another one of my exes.
Who am I talking to? Ramona Flowers, my dreamy American crush who has been on my mind this whole week. She works at Amazon and I ordered a package just so she would show up at my door. I must get a date with her. Unfortunately I'm a stranger to her and she is a very closed off person. This will take some convincing.
Where am I? I am in my house in Toronto Canada, standing at my front door looking at Ramona. There is snow outside.

Our leadership staff, active and retired, have spent hours creating an organized and fun environment for you to enjoy and experience MILSIM. The unit is based off of the US Army. We are an infantry focused unit, with armor and aviation supporting assets to help us complete the mission on the ground.
Under steady leadership and systems established based on facts rather than personal interpretation, all unit decisions are made impartially and follow a standardized process. We have combat veterans and enlisted members from real life armed forces currently rostered who work to help develop leadership skills within our community.
Application and Entry into the 28th
Join our Discord linked at the bottom. Upon entry you will be greeted by a recruiter who will lead you through our induction process, which includes creating an account on our website, filling out an application form, completing a meeting in our TeamSpeak with your recruiter, and finally, completing Initial Entry Training, which will consist of BCT and the 11B MOSQ. Once these steps are completed, you are officially recognized as a member of the 28th Combined Arms Division and are free to specialize with specific training.Upon application and acceptance into the unit, members are required to complete 4 operations as an enlisted 11B Infantryman. Upon completion of 4 operations as an Infantryman, the member may request to transfer and train into our other specialized MOS’ listed below.
Why do we require you to enter as 11B (Infantryman)?
We use this system to streamline members into our more advanced MOS’. Spending 4 operations at minimum as 11B proves that you want to be integrated into the community, as well as providing you with the knowledge of our unit at the most basic but most important level.This system builds prestige within our specialized MOS’, as well as raising the base skill level of our radio operators, pilots, armored crew and medics.If you choose to remain 11B, there is lots of opportunity for growth into leadership positions to help the unit and yourself grow as a leader.

We currently have ~100 people rostered and receive 30-50 members in attendance for main operations. We hang out in our teamspeak and play many different games together outside of operation times.Deployment Operations: The deployment Operations on Sunday and Friday, consist of a persistent storyline throughout the course of 2-3 months to simulate deployments to various areas around the globe. Deployment patches can be found on the website linked below!
Main Operations: Our Wednesday operations will vary on terrain and story, as we use these scheduled days to provide a different and refreshing experience outside of our deployment storyline. They will either be just one-off operations or be a series based on a separate storyline from the deployment.
Side Operations: Side Operations are hosted twice a month and can include a variety of mods and storylines including WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Halo.

We hung out, watched a movie and chilled. After the date we hugged and she drove home. (We have been friends for a litte while before so I want to take things slow hence no kiss)
The things that has me confused is that she can take up to 12 hours to respond, but is not hesitant to schedule a new date.
I have also noticed that she usually replies around the same time every day. I had no vibe of the date having gone bad. She also initiated for most of the date, asked me to hang, moved in closer on the couch and put her head on my shoulder.
So I'm unsure what is actually happening now, is she testing my interest as a precaution or am I in denial and she actually doesn't want to hang out much longer?

Getting rid of it as I have no need for it. I'm missing a spare charger for the battery but I'll charge it before shipping it out. Just make sure to have your own battery charger since I only have one dock to charge my S5 batteries and need it. No box.
The Metabones adapter is pretty scuffed but it works fine. The element is in great condition. I don't have any caps for it, but I'll wrap it up to protect it from dust as best as possible during shipping.
