2023.03.20 22:57 boteva My story
Hi everyone,
I am a 44-year-old father of two amazing kids and husband to an amazing wife. I want to share my story with you, hoping that it can inspire guys like me.
My story began during my mother's pregnancy when my father hit her a couple of times, causing me to shiver inside her womb. My first childhood memories were of the hits I received from my cruel and brutal father. He worked in moving and weighed 240 pounds, making it even harder to endure. My mother was also subjected to his abuse, and one of the most traumatic events was when I saw him choke her when I was 10 years old, she almost died.
I suffered from this abuse throughout my childhood until I was 17 years old, including emotional abuse and neglect. After I joined the army, I almost shot him when he was very close to hitting me again. Only today do I understand how much stress and anxiety I experienced and still do.
Shortly after my army service, I developed an autoimmune disease called Myelitis , which caused me to use a wheelchair for a few weeks. After recovering, I started training again, doing gym workouts and running.
From 2001 to 2006, I worked in the center of Jerusalem, where terrorist attacks were frequent. I was close to most of them and to this day, I am hypervigilant from every loud noise. But I didn't let any of this stop me from becoming a better person. I started working in the high tech industry and became an expert and manager in my field. I also ran in 10km competitions, and in my late twenties, I met my wife. My traumatic childhood caused me a lot of problems in my relationships, but I am still married, and my wife still loves me, and I love her. I am lucky.
When I was 39 years old, another autoimmune attack came, and I was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). It was even harder than the previous one, and I got a drop foot (100%). My hands also became very weak, and my whole body was affected. I was hospitalized for two months, and during this time, I got meningitis, causing me to lose 24 pounds.
During my hospitalization, I was diagnosed with two other autoimmune diseases - Hashimoto's (hypothyroidism) and Behçet's (the incomplete version). I was under high prednisone dosage (corticosteroid) - about 60 mg per day for more than a year, and I tapered down for three more years. For the first two years, I also did several cycles of Mabthera.
One week after my release from the hospital, I went back to work, managing my team and completing the internal data platform of my organization. At the same time, I got back to training, but it was awful. I couldn't even hold the pull-up bar, and my biceps were so weak that I couldn't do biceps curls of 8 pounds. I couldn't walk without a brace for my drop foot for almost four months. But I didn't give up. I started meditating, doing guided imagery, and using cannabis, which really helped me, especially with my mood and neuropathy. However, I stopped using cannabis last month as it stopped working and caused a lot of loops and paranoia.
About a year later my leg became better, as well as most of my body parts. It was very hard to train, but still, I kept grinding.
Throughout all this time, there has been one movie playing in my head - running the Jerusalem Marathon (10km). I ran it a few years back, and I can still remember every single meter of the course. Ever since that day, I have been imagining running it again someday.
During this time, I came across David Goggins and his first book, along with his Joe Rogan interview. I was incredibly inspired by his story, particularly given that he had suffered from domestic violence. I could relate to his struggles and hardships, and his success story motivated me to train harder. I have seen a great deal of progress since then, with improvements in my pull-ups (I am now able to do 16 reps), bicep curls (up to 36 pounds in each hand), and kettlebell exercises (using 16kg kettlebells for almost all exercises).
However, over the past year, I have been experiencing some sort of mental regression. Memories from my childhood and my insecurities have resurfaced, and I found myself in a deep depression. I was unable to think clearly and felt hopeless, my sleep was very poor (2-3 hours). Despite this, I continued to train. Eventually, I began psychotherapy and was diagnosed with CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder). Medications and therapy have helped me immensely, and although I still have my ups and downs, I am in a much better place mentally these days.
One month ago, I went to the park and started running while listening to one of Goggins' motivational videos. After running for about a mile, I began to consider quitting, but Goggins' voice continued to push me forward. As I passed the 5km mark, I heard him say: “Life ain’t about medals, ain’t about fucking certificates. It ain’t about houses, money, cars, fame, all that bullshit. It’s about scars. So when you get judged, you won’t get judged on your medals, you get judged on your scars. Those scars show your willingness to get to the side, They show your failures, they show your willingness to start from scratch. They show what you’re wanting to do, to go the distance, to see what you’re capable of. So make sure in life don’t be afraid to get scars.”
It touched my inner self and almost made me cry. I continued to run and eventually completed 10km, which was the first time in 7 years since I had last done it. It was then that I realized how much power was inside me.
After this experience, I decided to register for the Jerusalem Marathon. On the day of the race, I drove there with my wife. A few minutes before the race, she wished me well and “have fun” and I replied, "Honey, I'm not going to have fun here. I'm going into battle, and even if the sky falls, I won't stop running." As soon as the race began, I encountered many tough slopes on the course, as Jerusalem is built on mountains that are approximately 800 meters high. Despite the challenging track, I didn't give up, recalling every step from my imagination. I knew exactly how difficult it would be, but I never stopped running, not even for a second. Eventually, I completed the 10km race.
It was one of the most significant moments of my life, and I hugged my wife and thanked her for all her support. A few hours later, I emailed my neurologist and thanked him for his amazing treatment during the years. Many of my friends also sent their love. I had finally achieved my dream, and now I am going to create new ones.
This is my story, and I hope it will inspire and bring hope to others.
Stay hard!

About the research
Many businesses actively and productively use corporate sites, online stores, and web services to accomplish tasks. Customers register on these websites by leaving their personal data, make purchases by entering credit card information, and use cloud services to store information or use the resources provided to send their sensitive information. It is obvious that not only competitors, but also cybercriminals, would like to have access to such precious data, so it is no surprise when clients' personal data is leaked from yet another big company into the hands of criminals. Often, these events are associated with a successful attack on a company's web applications, as a result of which attackers gain access to the user database or steal other information. For example, in September 2020, hackers broke into more than 2,800 Magento-based online stores where they injected a malicious script that to scrape customers' personal information and payment card data.
As a result of hacking, both users and companies themselves may be affected. The web application security analysis conducted by Positive Technologies shows that criminals can conduct attacks on clients in 92% of web applications; in 68% of cases, there is a danger of a data leak; and in 16% of cases, attackers can gain control over the application and the server OS.
In this article, we will talk about why criminals hack websites, and what consequences there may be for the owners and users of hacked resources.
We have selected the ten most active forums on the dark web, which offer services for hacking websites, buying and selling databases, and accessing web resources. In total, more than 8 million users are registered on these forums, more than 7 million topics have been created, and more than 80 million messages have been published.
Note that this article does not consider ads that are posted in messages on such forums and related to services for organizing DDoS attacks on web resources, since in this case, the motives, goals, and tools of the attackers and those who hire them differ radically and go beyond the scope of this research.
Why criminals hack websites
In 90% of cases, users of darknet hacking forums search for a hacker who can provide them with access to a particular resource or who can download a user database. Seven percent of the messages include offers to hack websites. The rest of the messages are aimed at promoting hacking tools and programs and finding like-minded people to share hacking experience.
By offers, we mean ads published by service owners and hacker groups. They cannot act as indicators of supply and demand, as they are often posted only once. The demand for the services mentioned above can be estimated approximately only by individual inquiries from users who, for various reasons, did not make use of the information about the offers.
Figure 1. Categories of inquiries related to hacking websites
Since March 2020, we have noticed a surge of interest in website hacking. This might have been caused by an increase in the number of companies available via the Internet, which was triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations that previously worked offline were forced to go online in order to maintain their customers and profits, and cybercriminals, naturally, took advantage of this situation.
The following graph shows the number of new ads on dark web forums. Ads are posted not only by new members, but also by hackers with an established reputation. The latter do this as a form of self-promotion. It is difficult to determine which ads are duplicates and which have lost relevance, so we do not give the number of hackers or groups that actively provided hacking services at the beginning of 2019 or who are doing it today.
Figure 2. Number of new ads related to hacking web resources on forums in 2019–2020
In about seven out of ten inquiries related to website hacking, the main goal is to gain access to a web resource. Not only can attackers steal sensitive information, but also sell access to web applications to so-called fences.
Figure 3. Distribution of inquiries by topic
Inquiries aimed at obtaining user or client databases from a targeted resource account for 21% of all ads. Competitors and spammers who collect lists of addresses for targeted phishing attacks aimed at a specific audience are primarily interested in acquiring this type of information.

2023.03.20 22:44 Pale_Ad5899 HOW TO MONITOR SOMEONE’S PHONE CALLS AND MESSAGES
HOW TO MONITOR SOMEONE’S PHONE CALLS USING SPY APPLICATIONS - HOW TO USE KIDSGUARD PRO TO MONITOR SOMEONE’S PHONE CALL
You can use
Hijack hackers monitor your target’s incoming and outgoing calls. It works by recording their phone conversation and uploading it on its website for you to listen to or download after a few minutes.[
[email protected]](mailto:
[email protected])
To start the process, you need to visit its official website to register after which you will have to choose a subscription plan of your interest, install it, and set up the app on the target’s device. Once you have completed the set-up, listening to your target’s phone conversation becomes easy.
Any time the target receives or makes a phone call,
Hijack hackers instantly starts recording the call. 5-10 minutes after the call ends, it will upload the complete and clear call recording of your target on the
Hijack hackers online portal where you can listen to the conversation at any time by tapping on the audio option. And you can also download the call.
Impressively, it does not leave you wondering who the person your target is talking to is as it will provide the name and phone number of the other person behind every recording. It also provides other information like the date and time of the call, the duration of the call, and the type (incoming or outgoing) of the call.
- HOW TO USE KEYLOGGER TO MONITOR WIFE OR HUSBANDS MESSAGES
Keylogger records all the keystrokes made by the target user. This includes text messages they type, their social media chats, their browser searches, usernames, and passwords of their social media accounts. This means with keylogging you can monitor messages sent by your target. The software helps you stay anonymous because it operates in a stealth mode on the target device. To get started, download and install the right keylogging software into your system.
The spy apps find all the keystrokes made by the target user for you and arrange them in an organized manner. They are sorted based on the app where they were made.[

2023.03.20 22:42 Junes786 Passed this morning - But nearly didn't even sit the exam
Hi All,
What a journey, this morning i was nervous and i attended exam centre and the lady behind the counter said own no. I thought was wrong. What is your surname. I told the lady and she said, why do you have your company name. I said what.
Well, i had to ring ISC2, they were not up yet and i pleaded to the lady to allow me sit the examn and he reluntacntly accepted, saying i will reslove the name issue after the exam. Having shown her proof, i had registered the exam correlty.
Well when i got inside to sit the exam, i didn;t have time to settle, there was noise from the person next to me, becuase he had the headphone full blast. Didn't exams being sit.
Once he had left, then next door drilling was going off in the exam, while i was sitting the 4 hour exam. I was tired, meantly exhausted, but continued and PASSED. What a relief.
Anway, below is my method for learning.
I have been using this group and it really helped me on my journey.
u/GwenBettwy videos and content was very useful. Would recommened.
I used Mike Chappie - Linked Learning Vides and Sysbex Book and Practice 3rd Edition and also 2nd Edition
I also used AIO 3rd Edition book and practice questions
I did approx 4000x questions - some multiple times, but over a 8 weeks. 1000x less than CISSP and that was a bigger exam
The wiley Sysbex website would crash, which was very stressful and i would need to start the paper again.
I am already a CISSP, CISM, AWS, Azure certfied, so that helped. But don't be fooled about the exam, even with the certfications i prepared alot, you really need to know your stuff. You are tested - literarily.
I had 10 minutes to spare for the last question, i constantly looked at the clock. You have 1.6 mins - 96 secs a question. My rule was do 25 questions in 40 minutes. That was my marker, if behind, then i knew i needed to spead up. But i was always ahead by 5 to 7 questions.
Don't want to say the same thing which previous post have said in regards to book and material, but i recommened the following also, which helped me in area i may clear on. I hope this helps

2023.03.20 22:35 NullCipher Ceramic Heating Element Surface Temperature
My daughter recently got a snake and we've been working to get the temperature correct in the enclosure with a Zoo Med brand 150W CHE.
Using an infrared thermometer I've been happy with the results on the "hot" side of the tank, however I am a little concerned about the actual surface temperature of the Heat Emitter itself. Its in a Wire Cage and suspended/sitting on top of the enclosure. Using the infrared thermometer the CHE itself is registering at about 515 degrees (Farenheit) on the sides and pointed directly at the emitter side its over 650 degrees! The porcelain socket on the Zoo Med light fixture registers around 175 degrees.
Is that expected for the surface temperature of a CHE? All the documentation just says that they get "HOT" but I just wanted to make sure that something wasn't wrong to make it be that hot. The only real conversation I could see around actual surface temperature was from a video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5An6cdU8Nqo which shows similar results to what I'm seeing, so wanted to see if there were any real life examples from snake owners using the same setup.
Thanks!

2023.03.20 22:28 omniscientclown Last week I had a diabetic seizure due to hypoglycemia. Here's my experience and what I learned
Hi all! Last week I had a very scary experience with a low blood sugar, and I'd like to share my experience and also maybe issue some warnings. To start, I am 26F and have had T1D since I was 4 years old. Overall, my bloodsugars are
mostly controlled (A1C~6.5). I am on the Medtronic 770G pump/sensor. However, at the time of this event, I was not wearing the sensor as I had lost my transmitter during travelling a week or so prior and hadn't gotten around to ordering a new one. This is the first time I had an experience like this in my memory. This will be long but it's important to see how easily this can happen and how to avoid mistakes that can lead to it. When I google information, it seems like sometimes a diabetic seizure can just be mild symptoms like confusion, sweating, but mine progressed into a full-blown seizure. (Read
https://www.visitcompletecare.com/blog/what-does-diabetic-seizure-look-like/ for some more information.. I feel like I’ve never been formally educated on this in all my years of being a diabetic)
So last Thursday night my blood sugar was high 200s and not going down after bolus, but then I realized I had to change my site anyway so maybe that's why. Changed site, gave a little more insulin, kept checking every 30 mins-1hr or so and it was now in the 300s and not going down. At this point I decided to change my site again and lo and behold, the tube was bent and not even in my skin. Put on a new site, gave the amount of insulin to treat >300 BG since I knew I hadn't gotten any insulin for hours at that point. It was late and I was tired, so I waited until I knew for sure my BG was going down before I went to sleep. It was going down so slowly, but once it hit 240 around 1am I was too tired and knew it would be fine as it's obviously going down. I put a juice by my bedside in the event I overcorrected since I ALWAYS wake up when my bloodsugar gets too low while sleeping.
Well, not this time. The next time I woke up was around 4 am to 4 paramedics in my room. My partner had to fill me in on the details and thanks to him this all turned out okay. So I guess around 3:30am, my partner woke up to me banging my arm on the nightstand (I was laying on my side). He said I was thrashing pretty violently, and while he has no prior experiences with seizures, he assumed that's what was happening. I wasn't coherent and my eyes were open but not looking at anything. So he got up to check on me and I was half hanging off the bed, so he moved me more on the bed and then realized how sweaty I was. That's always a big indication for me that my bloodsugar is very low. So at this point he did figure I was having a seizure, but then also realized my BG was low, but at this point he hadn't put everything together. He checked my BG.. he actually tried to do it in my upper thigh at first because my arms were moving too much. Didn't work though but he did get it from my finger. My meter just read "Call 911" instead of giving a number. So here he said that within 40 seconds he learned low blood sugars can cause seizures! What a great way to learn, through experience lol. He said I thrashed pretty violently for maybe like 5 mins, then eventually it changed to smaller tremors and during this whole time I was in/out of consciousness. So he called 911 as the meter instructed, and medics were there within 4 mins.
Here I should point out, that yes, this would've been a good time for a glucagon treatment. While I do have one, it was expired, and my partner didn't exactly know where it was. So instead of wasting time looking for it, while he was on phone with the operator he put some sugar in my mouth to let it soak into my gums (note- at this point I wasn't fully seizing anymore and I was still on my side, and since the sugar melts he figured it was safe enough to put in my mouth as it wasn't much. I'm still not sure if this is the best idea, but we plan to get a sugar gel in case it ever happens again).
So once the medics arrived, they gave me a glucagon shot (at least we assume, my partner wasn't sure and was overwhelmed) and some glucose gel. After this they checked my BG and it was 20! So it must have been even lower before that. I think the lowest my BG has ever been is like 35ish? I guess at this point I was cooperating but still mostly out of it, and I don't remember this. I started coming to a couple of minutes later and I thought I was dreaming that there were medics in my room. Then I realized I had a terrible, sweet taste in my mouth, and I scratched my nose and felt sugar around my mouth. At this point I realized it was not a dream, and I am being treated for a bad low. I started communicating with the medics and my partner at this point, but no one necessarily told me everything that happened. Then they gave me an IV of some clear glucose liquid. I remember it took awhile for them to find a good vein and I also remember not feeling it at all. Then they started asking me questions (Name, date, who's the president, etc) and I was able to answer. They said this IV is supposed to raise my BG really fast and then I need actual food to keep it up. To give you an idea, it went up to 350 while getting the IV, and within a couple minutes it was already back down to 240ish. I had a couple of granola bars (I was starving at this point, wanting to do a low binge). At this point they also explained I had a seizure due to the low blood sugar which definitely surprised me. Medics stayed a couple more mins to ensure I was stable and offered to take me to hospital, but at that point I was all there and my BG started equilibrating, so I declined. I talked to my partner for a little bit and he gave me the rest of the details about how he woke up, the actual seizure, how my dogs would be terrible medical alert dogs because they slept through the whole thing (lol), etc. Then I quickly fell asleep.
The next day I woke up with a BG of 460 so my day already started off feeling lovely hah. But once that was fixed, I was physically exhausted and had a headache all day.
Now that it’s been a few days, I’ve had time to reflect about all this. It was weird the first day or two because I didn’t remember or wasn’t conscious for the worst of it. So it almost didn’t feel real? Or didn’t feel that scary, even though I knew it was a scary situation in general. I’m very thankful my partner woke up and was able to help because of course we don’t wanna think about the worst that could’ve happened.. What really scares me is if I was alone that night for some reason. We’ve lived together for 2-3 years now, but before that I lived alone (no roommates) for 2 years. Over the years I’ve been with him, he has of course become familiar with diabetes and understands most of the signs of high/low bg (like the sweating from that night), and I’m also glad I had taught him how to check my bloodsugar. He also knew it was best to get any kind of sugar in me as possible, and we had previously discussed that you can use plain sugar because it melts and absorbs into the gums. However, we had never formally discussed an action plan if something like this happened, probably because I never thought about it happening like it did. Like he knew about the existence of the glucagon, but didnt know where I kept it or how to use it if he had found it.
Another thing that could’ve prevented this was me wearing my sensor. I must admit that I go through phases of wearing it for awhile, then not wearing it for a while, and it cycles like that. I want to reiterate that every other time I’ve gotten a low bloodsugar while sleeping, I wake up. Usually in a puddle of sweat, starving. And to be honest, it doesn’t seem like the issues the night before should’ve caused me to drop that low. I didn’t think I’d given myself too much, and it was previously dropping very slowly. I guess it just dropped so fast that I didn’t wake up in time? So I guess I put a little too much trust in my body. The day after this happened I ordered a new transmitter, which should arrive tomorrow. But each night I am so anxious about going to bed, afraid it could happen again. So I have a feeling that going forward I will be much better about wearing the sensor, no matter how annoying it is.
So after all this, I guess I have some advice for my fellow T1Ds:
- Make sure your friends, family, partners, etc. know what to do in a situation of either low or high blood sugar. Make sure they know your tells, let them know where you keep snacks/juice, etc. I’ve always been really good about doing this, especially if I meet people in a new situation where no one knows me. In addition, having a formal plan for anyone you may live with, telling them how to use glucagon, etc (this is where I realized the obvious shortcomings of not having a formal plan).
- Keep a glucagon on hand in an easy to find place, not expired, and make sure someone knows how to use it!
- On that note, keeping a glucose gel is also good, as it may be easier for someone to administer. Also much easier to carry around with you in pocket/purse. You can also encourage people you’re around a lot to keep some on them. I’ve never actually used these but will definitely get some. If someone is unconscious/unresponsive due to a low BG, this is a very easy way to get sugar into them safely, instead of trying to get them to eat or drink something.
- Wear the damn sensor if you have one. They’re annoying as hell but I suppose they can truly be life saving, especially if you live alone!
- When in doubt, just call 911 (or your country-specific emergency line). Low blood sugars are common occurrences that are easy for them to treat. I didn't even have to get an ambulance or hospital bill and was fully treated at home. But also, of course go to the hospital if you need to!
If you stuck around this long, thank you for reading! I hope your nights are full of good bloodsugars!

2023.03.20 22:21 autotldr Wave of violence in Brazil: the revolt of the criminals
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 61%. (I'm a bot)
Criminals set fire to a train station in a suburb of the provincial capital Natal on Sunday night.
Almost 300 such attacks have been reported in the northeastern state since Tuesday of Brazil registered.
Criminal gangs are behind the wave of violence, above all a regional criminal organization that calls itself the "Crime Syndicate" and arose a good ten years ago from a spin-off of the "Primeiro Comando da Capital", the largest and most powerful criminal organization in Brazil.
In previous years, the "Syndicate" in Rio Grande do Norte had made a name for itself with bloody prison riots.
The criminals complain about human rights violations and torture in the state's overcrowded prisons.

2023.03.20 22:21 nesagwa VB Script converting event information from a CSV to Excel, then to Word
Hi all,
I'm looking to streamline some of my copy editing process from where it is now. I have an existing VB script that was written for me by a former coworker in our IT department and have edited it in places to fix some small issues I've had with it.
What the current script does is clean up formatting for things like dates (remove year, get rid of leading zeroes), times (combine them into a single entry, drop the end time if its less than 1 hour), and some other basic formatting. Afterward, I can run the excel file through a Mail Merge in Word to get it close enough, and edit / combine everything by hand.
Script here:
https://pastebin.com/ymtK5xWd What I'd like for it to do, and what takes a lot of my time to do manually, is to combine identical duplicate events with several dates into a single row, and then sort all events by date/time. Is something like that possible with a vb script in excel? Are there existing examples that do something similar?

2023.03.20 22:16 jargm 3 One shot ideas
- The weird museum
This one is more of a classic, but I really like the idea of having a one shot that focuses on a museum. But the museum I have in mind is not a simple one. It’s rather a special, crazy version of a museum. This might be a weird topic as its focus, like a candy museum, a museum for diseases, or weird creatures. Or it might be something that isn’t a museum at first glance. Maybe the players are ants inside a museum, but for them it is the world they know, and the humans that watch them through the world barrier are their gods.
- The archaeological excavation
An archaeological site, where something extraordinary is discovered. The newspapers report about an one in a century find, but they aren’t allowed to reveal what it is. The players are sent to site, maybe they play as news reporters, as archaeologist, or as a local authority. When they arrive at the site, it is deserted with no traces of any human still being there. All workers are missing, and the party has to reveal a dark secret…
- The World’s fair
Chicago, 1983. In the summer heat 27 million visitors attend the tenth world exhibition, called “The World’s fair”. They witness a shocking event that disrupts the festivities: The 12 meter high Chocolate Temple, built by german entrepreneur Ludwig Stollwerck, melts in the unexpected hot sun, and reveals a dead body under the chocolate sculpture of “germania” that is placed in the center of the temple.
The players then need to solve the murder. They could be some kind of investigators, which makes this idea, along with the era, especially fitting for a Call of Cthulhu campaign.
Any Ideas? Maybe a certain twist?
Hopefully you can use one of them for your next one shot! I'd love to hear how they went!
I post stuff like this and more regularly on my
blog.
