2023.03.20 23:46 iRambL Did some research on some cheat makers and found some interesting stuff.

So if you don't know I run a channel called WTCS or War Thunder Cheat Shaming.
(shameless plug - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0efcsw9MwNISJ9Zd-ntPbQ)
I managed to contact or at least get some commentary on some cheat makers and its pretty ridiculous the lengths to actually cheat and here is the premise. I mentioned in a previous video that cheats from china are as low as 10 dollars for an aim-bot, what I failed to mention was that if it was per month/day/year. Turns out that most cheaters that aren't developing their own set are spending anywhere from 10-20 PER DAY to cheat. So for those thinking that you will easily be able to get into cheating boy are you in for a surprise. Imagine spending 300-600 a month just for a cheater program for War Thunder. (Does also make me wonder how much of the money is stolen or other means which cant be named here.)
The other problem I am encountering is the sheer openness of how blatant the cheating has gotten. Its come to my attention that GMs literally do nothing for the game's security or processes. GMs entire job length is to moderate the forums and to tell you to "use the reporting system". If you saw recently the ban list you would know how useless their reporting system is. Most of the cheaters banned on the list were under level 50 meaning relatively new accounts just based on how easy it is to get to level 100. There were even quite a few accounts that were basically just loaded into the game and banned meaning they were free accounts used to test if their cheat works to bypass the anti cheat.
Unfortunately its becoming a Tarkov incident except its not as easy to expose and plaster around like the wiggle that killed Tarkov (thanks to the channel g0at for that). There's a company called Absolute Solutions that is a cheat maker that brags about none of their accounts being banned because apparently all their clients aren't as blatant and they brag about how easy EAC is to dodge. Mind you they charge upwards of 20+ per day for their cheats. (One of the videos they commented on - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYdJj3BI_Y0&lc=UgxGsp4P9MIoLYKBh8l4AaABAg.9n87tOZEYl09n9MtbQZhZX)
I still refuse to believe that Gaijin is selling the cheats in this case as it doesn't overall benefit their game in the long run. Because if cheating becomes overly rampant then it hurts their overall bottom line. If this is the case then Gaijin would be doing the bare minimum to keep the cheating at a minimum while also keeping their profit margins the same. What i still refuse to understand is how does Gaijin justify not having a security team along side EAC? What is the incentive to not moderate? Why are they dumping it all onto EAC? Well that's another rabbit hole in itself.
If you have ever tried to contact EAC in regards to an issue they tend to get back to you in around a week in regards to ANY other game but War Thunder. As of this post, EAC has never responded back to me regarding any post for War Thunder but has gotten back to me multiple times when asking about other games within their time frame. It is unacceptable that an anti-cheat refuses to respond about any issues that a game might have that might improve it in the long run. I feel like this might have been requested from Gaijin in order to stop inquiring about issues with the game.
In summary, Gaijin has a serious security issue that needs to be addressed and major issues with the game are likely being caused by this security issue as well. It could only be a matter of time before the cheats become so intrusive that we start seeing more intrusive hacking like speed and gravity modifiers that could affect the entire game. Imagine a tank ignoring its reload speed or having a stabilizer when it doesn't have one.
TLDR: Gaijin thinks it has an anti-cheat and really doesn't. Get more involved, start pinging CCs who actually are vocal about the game to do something about it.

2023.03.20 23:45 Known_Employer 1 YEAR UPDATE: (A client wants me to quit my job and work for them full time at 150% my current compensation. Is this a perfect opportunity to start my own business or am I throwing my career down the drain?) I started my own business. And this happened.

A little over a year ago, I posted about how I was considering starting my own small business.
https://www.reddit.com/smallbusiness/comments/riqwft/a_client_wants_me_to_quit_my_job_and_work_fo
I was nervous. What if I fail to get more clients?
Guess what happened? My fears came true. For the the entire 2022, I could not get more clients and completely relied on that one client.
Before I paint an all gloomy picture, there are some wins to be proud of. For example, in just the 1st quarter, we increased sales by ~145% to $645K.
Q1 2022
By the end of 2022, we had reached and more than doubled his goal of $2M revenue. And he even reduced his operating costs to below 12%.
How we reached those goals was primarily due to restructuring the sales pipeline away from paid ads. We focused our prospecting on leads that are already warm-to-hot and partially sales-qualified. And by expanding our outreach across multiple channels from just emails and phone calls to include LinkedIn, Twitter, and even postcards. All made possible by an AI system that automates both prospecting and outreach, which I built. This is what worries me.
When I mentioned to him that I'd like to expand by business by offering that system to other clients and he really got upset. He threatened to cancel my contract, which in itself is not a problem because I can work to get new clients. The problem is that, although he has no IP claims for the software because I developed it outside of his paid time, I am afraid that he might bring a vexatious suit because he has more money to spend on lawyers than I do. He hasn't said this explicitly but the way ho got upset at my proposal got me thinking about covering all my bases.
Yes, I am still under a 1099 contract but and my compensation (minus SE taxes and health insurance costs) is more than what I was making at my old job. Nonetheless, I would like to move past being a client business.
I am thinking maybe the other option is to ask him for ownership stake in the company, no less than 50%. Is this too much? Should I even do that knowing that I possibly could make more money if I sever ties and go it fully independent.
Or should I stealthily get other clients and just wean myself away from this client softly?
THANK YOU: I also wanted to express my gratitude for the humbling feedback and support that I did get in the original post. That gave me more confidence to seek new opportunities. Although my current situation may seem prickly, I am still thankful for the opportunity and I would still make the same decision today.

Throaway account because my friends/coworkers know my reddit. I just keep applying to all these jobs but I either get auto rejected or just ignored, what am I doing wrong? For context, I apply to grocery store jobs and other barista jobs. I just want to get out of my current one.

2023.03.20 23:38 Zen_21 New player with 50+ hours in game take: Game needs monsters raiding player bases in waves

(Disclaimer: I have never played other games of same features such as factorio. I have only heard of them and their features from lurking on the internet. Meaning Im not trying to suggest anything from another game to be in this game and this suggestion is solely based on my own ideas. Any similarities are purely coincidential.)
(tldr: Production for the sake of production is not enough. Game needs challenging and threatening monster raids. Strategising the use of products for defensive builds. Of course with option to turn off.)
To explain the title more:
I bought the game on sale, had it on my wishlist for a while and been waiting for a sale to pick it up. Immediately started playing no-life.
I love the game as it is amazing but after getting the second batch shipped with space elevator I felt that progression for the sake of progression is not enough and make the game repetitive while only changing the end product name and making things a bit more complex.
So I thought about it and the game needs - apart from the current working towards a goal to unlock new stuff - challenges, threats, threats that can damage your builds, defensive mechanisms, even hardcore mode with permadeath.
Endlessly expanding the production, while I admit is really fun, seems pointless without any use other than making another production line. Current monsters in game are, put in one word, pathetic. Cool designs cool attack patterns but we are humans with brains after all and dealing with these are really easy.
But what if these monsters raided our bases in swarms and waves that get harder depending on your progress or amount of waves. You would need to strategize your builds adding defensive builds, stronger foundations and walls and defending them yourself.
This way the products we make will have another use and adds another challenge that is deciding where to use them to be more effective. Use them in your production line to further your progress or in your defense to see the future.
Of course there should be an option to turn this off. This would also make the game a lot more fun in multiplayer.
Thanks for reading!

2023.03.20 23:36 PTLounge Things that your PT course doesn’t teach you but are vital to your success as a PT

Mouthy title but aiming to do what it says in the title.
Here are some things I wish I knew or learned about sooner in my PT career that my course didn’t teach me:
• Business Skills - Your personal trainer course might have taught you how to create exercise programs and work with clients, but it probably didn't teach you how to run a business. As a personal trainer, you're not just a fitness expert, you're also a business owner. You need to understand how to market your services, create a pricing strategy, and manage your finances.
• Marketing - you can’t have a consistently strong business without marketing yourself to generate new leads that can become potential clients.
• Sales - some courses cover it but usually no where near the amount you need to be successful. Whilst it might be considered a dirty word, in essence all your trying to do is match your services to the needs of your potential client and getting them to paint an image in their head as to how you can get them their results.
• Networking - “your network is your net worth”, cringe but kinda true. The more people that know you then the larger reach your business generally has and that’ll help massively when it comes to referrals.
• Income does not equal salary - just because you’re bringing in $X doesn’t mean that’s always gonna be your salary. You should treat the income you have as a PT the same as a business does with theirs. E.g. pay yourself a salary out of the income but make sure you’re able to pay business costs out of your income too; rent, marketing costs, software, etc. Think of what you make in terms of profit and loss rather than a salary.
• Your knowledge from your course is only a guide - things rarely workout the same way that you learn on your course. For example, you learn specific cues to use to teach a squat but when it comes to the real world you’re going to have to learn a bunch more and be ready to have multiple ways to teach a squat. Not everyone will automatically get how to do a squat using the cues you originally learned.
Hope this helps for now and I’d love to hear from other experienced PTs too.

Payment in PayPal F&F only. NO NOTES. Shipping to CONUS only. Only trade interests are P365/AR parts.
Timestamp
Vosteed Valkyrie 154CM harpoon/seax blade in black G10. Cool ass knife. Previous owner acid-washed the blade, liners, and clip. Has been sharpened. Fantastic action, no lock stick. Comes with box and papers. $60
Kizer Grazioso N690 satin blade in micarta/brass. Catch and release. Never carried/cut anything by me, though it's clearly used. Gorgeous knife. Modern Buck 110 vibes. Guillotine-like action. Looks to be factory edge but it's hard to tell. Some wear on brass bits. No box or papers. $45
CJRB Pyrite ARPM9 stonewashed blade in stainless steel. Carried a handful of times. Cut some boxes here and there. Factory edge. Great action though there is a tiny bit of lock stick. Comes with box and papers. $35
QSP Penguin D2 dark stonewashed blade in shredded red carbon fiber. The knife that restarted my knife addiction. So good for the price. Carried a handful of times and eviscerated some Amazon boxes. Smooth action and drops shut. Comes with box and papers. $25
(2) Gerber Slimsada D2 stonewashed blade in green micarta. So initially I had an older Slimsada. I wanted to do some maintenance on it but one of the pocket clip screws stripped out so I contacted Gerber for new screws. Instead they just sent me a new replacement Slimsada. Both are on sale! The older one has been carried quite a few times and been resharpened. Signs of wear apparent (along with the aforementioned stripped screw). The newer Slimsada is LNIB, just took it out and fidgeted with. I like the micarta lock bar stop, helps with reverse flicking quite a bit. Action isn't great on either and both blades favor the clip side in centering. Both have boxes and papers. LNIB Slimsada: $35 // old Slimsada: $20

2023.03.20 23:33 Rohanahan What career can I change to with 1.5 years recruitment experience?

I feel like I'm completely stuck and need help and guidance and had no idea where else to turn.
I've been doing recruitment for 1.5 years as the title says, near straight after university. Unfortunately I had to drop out of university due to mental health problems and I managed to over the course of a year or so coax my brain back to health and get employed doing recruitment in an industry I like.
I now want to change jobs as I've done quite well but it's really not for me and the new boss is terrible and making my life an absolute misery which is really mentally challenging me.
Unfortunately I clearly don't have a full degree (digital media related) and only the limited recruitment experience.
What can I look into doing??
I don't mind customer facing jobs as long as it's not constantly being fake friendly to try to get something out of someone. I hate the lack of authenticity in sales. It's completely against who I am as a person.
What potential career paths can I take?? I don't mind a lower starting salary if there are career prospects.

BoardGame Geekmarket prices don't include s&h and I try to only include prices within the last year.
Ebay prices are 'total prices' including listed shipping, and only for 'sold' items.
I try to call out any crazy Amazon marketplace pricing when I see it.
Board Game Oracle prices only include in-stock values and don't include shipping.
All compare prices were valid when I looked them up, but I don't re-validate each time I post.

2023.03.20 23:21 Badditor90 Hypothetical Situation: Someone is Forcing Apple's hand

Imagine yourself as Tim Cook for a moment, and you have enjoyed the experience of being Apple's CEO for a while now.
However, something on social media has gone viral, a guy is using his influence to get people to stop buying iPhone's and iPads and Apple Watches, etc, his main "Tagline" is "Force Apple into lowering the prices of their products so EVERYONE can afford an iPhone", at first you focus on those who WILL buy Apple Products, regardless of what this guy is saying, however.
The brand new iMac's, iPads, Apple Watch's, MacBooks, Homepods and pretty much any product Apple Sells has had a noticeable decrease in sales vs tech from Apple's early days, this guy clearly has a great deal of influence and he is clearly forcing your hand.
For Reference just from iPhone 14 to 15 alone, sales dropped to mere thousands, iPads dropped to mere hundreds, MacBook's and iMacs combined, mere tens, for Apple the situation has JUST become dire.
Then the guy in another video says this at the end of it
"Face facts Tim Cook, your a greedy, corrupt individual who will NEVER be Steve Jobs, your products never have enough in them to justify the high cost, competitors add far more and for a far more affordable price, if you wanna bring Apple out of the dump, your products prices need to change, iPhone 16 Pro Max, $300USD, iPad Pro 12.9", $600USD, Apple Watch, $150USD, a fully speced out iMac, $1,200USD, MacBook, $1,200USD, need I go on?, the sales figures have spoken, and so have the people, one choice, Apple goes Bankrupt, or Apple prices their products to cater to EVERYONE'S Weekly Paycheck"
As Tim Cook, how would you Respond to this?

2023.03.20 23:20 Photoelectric_Effect [WTS][US-MA] Pelikan M600 Red Tortoise, Opus 88 Fantasia x 2, Pilot Decimo, OG TR52 sheets, Rubber stamps, Fountain pen inks.

Please add a reply to this post before proceeding with a transaction. Also please use a direct message to contact me--I don't check instant chat. Preference for people who want to buy multiple items at once, in particular with the inks and the packs of paper. Shipping cost not included, CONUS preferred.
Pens capped 1 , Pens capped 2
Pens uncapped
I got a set of these Opus 88 Fantasia pens a while ago and intended to swap in some custom nibs, such as Franklin Christoph #5 SIG, but then I got a bunch more pens, and these are sitting unused. Inked them up once to see how they write, as I had not had Japanese style eyedroppers before. Very pretty, but I don't like keeping pens without use. I'm keeping the black color model and selling these 3. Standard JoWo #5 nib units screw out easily and can be replaced with an array of other options. Cleaning these pens is a breeze. Discontinued model.

OPUS 88 Fantasia - Red F [A2]

I don't have the original box with the correct red pen label anymore, but will include one from a black color model instead (paper label on the side shows a black color pen).
$100

OPUS 88 Fantasia - Blue F [A2]

Comes with original box and parts.
$100
----

Pilot Capless Decimo - Light Purple - M [B]

Great workhorse of a pen, perfectly operational. I'm downsizing a bit, because I have a bunch of LE Decimos now. The lavender color lacquer is in excellent condition. Very fine microscratches on the chromed parts. Nib unit included is 18K rhodium-plated Medium -- smooth and juicy. Con-40 converter also included. Will come with a Pilot box.
$100

Pelikan M600 Red Tortoiseshell - Fine [A2]

I wanted to love this pen, but unfortunately it's too warm red/orange leaning for me, and I prefer cold reds in general. Only inked a couple of times, otherwise it's been sitting in a pen storage box on my desk. Smooth piston movement, looks mint, no issues. Comes with original gift box.
$375

Original production 52g Tomoe River loose leaf paper lot:

- 4 sets of Cream color A5, 100 sheets each, $15 per pack
-1 set of Cream color B5, 98 sheets (I think I took out 1-2 sheets when I first got this pack, for an ink testing binder.) $17

Rubber Stamps by SniggleSloth - All A1, unused, in original packaging:

https://i.imgur.com/1A6OUWI.jpg
I can't use stamps in my journals, because the ink dyes I've tried so far penetrate to the other side and also affect water brush drawing over affected areas. I bought a bunch of these mounted rubber stamps, but sadly can't use them now. Very well made, easy to use. I am keeping the ones I've already used and selling the unused remainder:
- 3/4" Dutch Bunny Loaf circular stamp
- 1.75" Samurai Cat Under Sakura Cherry Blossom square stamp
- 1.25" Phoebe Bird on a Branch square stamp
- 1.25" Dream Catcher with Moon and Stars square stamp
- 1.25" Squirrel with Oak Leaves square stamp
$36 for the set. I can split the set, but only if you buy a stamp(s) with a few other things, because I just don't have enough small boxes to ship everything separately; plus it's not cost effective.

Inks:

2023.03.20 23:20 QuirkyBreadfruit What should I expect from wood patio furniture in terms of longevity?

I have a few related questions.
We have a set of acacia patio furniture we've had for about 5 years. We really like it and every year we clean it and retreat it as necessary. This spring for whatever reason the finish really fell apart, mostly in areas we hadn't treated before, and there's green spots all over it, like a kid took a green marker and just put little marks all over it.
If I use some kind of algae and mildew deck cleaner on it will that be good enough to restore it, or is it kind of done for?
Is this the fate of all outdoor wood furniture? Is teak or eucalyptus any more durable in a cold climate?
We've gone through a few sets of furniture, acacia and eucalyptus, and it seems like they only last 5-10 years before they become unrecoverable. We didn't have this issue with our eucalyptus furniture but that wasn't totally outside, it was in a 3-season porch.
We're trying to decide whether to try to refinish this set, or get a new set, maybe in teak, or get a plastic set that's more expensive but presumably more durable and on sale now.

2023.03.20 23:17 rpossert NE Florida Zoysia Lawn Issues

Hey everyone! NE Florida (Jax) area homeowner. I’ve got a Zoysia lawn, and after a really decent year last year, after a fairly mild winter, our grass is not looking so hot. Looking for ideas, as most if not all of the lawn care companies seem to be giving us the sales pitch and runaround. There does seem to be a layer of maybe previously mulched grass under the main layer of leaves. We just did a clean 2” cut with a mower with brand new blades. Grass is looking dead or patched in multiple spots. A few of the photos are from sod laid in November. Any ideas of how to combat what we have going on? Pics in thread below and I can take more if needed.

2023.03.20 23:16 SnooMemesjellies345 Em's Connection to Janet in Episode 319

Okay, y'all, this is not meant to be an accusation or callout or anything (I seriously love Em and Christine so much), but any time someone claims a tangential relationship to a crime my interest gets piqued and I go into sleuth mode. I love sleuthing and honestly went into it trying to figure out what she taught, since there was no mention of her being a teacher after a quick Google search. But, it sometimes rubs me the wrong way when people use crime connections as a sort of morbid clout-chasing opportunity. To be clear, I don't think Em was doing that here, but I think there's a tendency toward it in general and it does a disservice to the people actually connected to and affected by the crime, and I think as hosts of a podcast like this it's important to be careful about how you discuss things.
I'm just... not convinced Janet actually worked at Em's school, at least in the capacity indicated. Em mentioned they were in 2nd grade while they were there, which I estimated to be between 1999-2001 roughly, and I was able to find out that Raven was an assistant soccer coach there for the varsity boys team in 2001, but I also found an announcement from Dec 2001 that he was starting a new job with an IT company after working for HP sales (VA territory) previously. If that's the case, being a soccer coach was a part-time, after-school thing, and Em's comments about him looking for her during lunch breaks don't track. Janet didn't even finish her undergrad degree (in social sciences) until December of 2000, so I also don't think being a Spanish teacher as Em first stated makes sense either. Also to note, by her death in 2005, she was working as a bookkeeper, which is also not necessarily a social science field so education doesn't always mean real work experience! Em backtracked a few times from calling her a teacher to then being a substitute and then to being maybe an after-school aide, and I guess an after-school aide would make the most sense, but I just feel like speculation like that is distracting at best.
I get that it was a long time ago, but it can be very dangerous to pepper in hearsay and anecdotal evidence into cases like this without any concrete info. Em said that her friends would talk about teachers hiding her and finding bruises etc. on her, but I can't find anything anywhere that indicates he was suspected previously of DV or bruising her. Christine never mentioned that in her reporting either. I understand that some details don't get logged, but I would have expected that if coworkers were noticing bruises, her family must have too, and someone would have said something during all this about his abusive history. I'm wondering if there were some mixed stories going on with him working there after school and then maybe some other stuff going on with other people that got lost in the story in the past 20 years. I'm not trying to say her childhood friends and their mom were wrong, but I am just curious about how the timeline and facts make sense with what was stated. I just think we all need to be careful about sharing stories and details about crimes we're vaguely connected to and making sure we speak with precision so as not to spread misinformation. Nothing negative was said about Janet in any capacity, and that isn't the concern, it can just turn into a giant game of telephone which helps no one. I don't really know what point I'm trying to make here (and I could also be TOTALLY wrong - most of the info I found was from nearly 20 years ago), I just want people to be careful about how they spread information and wish Em would have handled it a little differently. If they had just said "I think her husband was a soccer coach at my school and she worked there too in some capacity, but I don't remember any details so why don't you tell the story from the beginning" would have worked a little better. 😅
Feel free to call me out if I'm off base with this! I mean no hate, just a gentle comment and warning about the importance of correctness when it comes to these kinds of stories.
