2023.06.08 22:56 IrvingWhite Bar / Pool Area to Rent for Party

Looking to celebrate a deal closing with my Indy Team in late July. Is there anywhere in town with a nice pool / bar area that can be rented for a private party? The company we have sold is "pool" themed so we'd like to celebrate accordingly - in or around a pool.
I don't want to ask too many staff working locally since I want it to be a surprise. I do not live in Indy and I am not intimately familiar with all offerings in the area.
Party would be 25'ish people. Would prefer 7/28 or could do 7/29. Would like to start late afternoon and go late. Will be catered with food/bev/music. We won't be loud or obnoxious, but we like to have fun. No drugs, smoking, or vaping. We've told catering company it may be poolside so no glass (can use house catering if we need to).
Maybe someone with a great house setup interested in making some coin? All arrangements via law firm local to Indy with a great reputation. Can provide local references.
Otherwise, where is a great spot to rent and hang - rooftop bar? Speakeasy? Something?
Ideas? Thanks!

2023.06.08 22:55 Responsible_Ad8242 Exterminator sprayed Bifen on my container garden

Exactly what it says. I'm currently renting a basement apartment. I had several potted plants and a tray of seedlings in the extra space outside my front door. I also had a few more pots at the top of the steps leading to my apartment. My windows were also open. An exterminator under contract by the rental company came to spray for ants without giving any prior notification.
Now the entire area outside my door is covered in Bifen. I managed to talk to the guy before he left, but he didn't seem to understand what I was asking. I asked if the pesticide was safe on edibles, like herbs, and he kept thinking I was talking about fruits or flowering plants that produce fruit. He said it would be safe to harvest after a few days, but I'm not sure if I trust that information.
From what I know, Bifen also kills beneficial insects like butterflies and bees. One of the plants I had was a Showy Milkweed seedling, for attracting Monarch Butterflies, but I'm not longer sure if I can keep it.
Any and all advice would be appreciated. Will I have to to toss everything? Can Bifen be washed off? I'm most upset by the loss of my perennials, some of which I've had for years.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?

Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023. In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases. This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.

When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?

Where will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stream specifically? Due to an ongoing deal between Netflix and Sony (remember that these movies are not produced by Disney), Across the Spider-Verse will see Netflix as the streaming home for the film when it finishes its theatrical run. It will no doubt make its way to Disney+ eventually, as Disney and Sony do have an agreement for Disney to include Sony’s Spider-Man content in their offerings, but that will at least be some time after Across the Spider-Verse has come out on Netflix.
In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?

Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.

Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?

No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?

Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

2023.06.08 22:54 Serethe Server DC after the last hit on final boss.

So, there I was, fighting for my life through hell. I'd turned off the lights in my room, my second monitor is dark, my keyboard is lit by the firiest red LEDs known to man. All my allies are dead (apart from the one armed actual main character of the game) and I'm staying behind to make sure Lillith can't follow.
It's a tricky fight for me, I kill her once and she rises again, only to get one-shot by some combination of red and black shit that I obviously shouldn't be standing in. The atmosphere is thick. I really want this heterocromiac hell bitch dead. I've got the fight down now, dodge, duck, weave, lightning the ever loving bollocks out of her. She's near death. I stand in red shit again like an idiot and have to use my last potion. I think 'Fuck it!', make a stand and unleash everything. A maelstrom, a hurricane, a viney shark thing that creepily follows me around and makes a mess during cut scenes.
The final lightning bolt stikes. Red potions spill from her moments before the gold and orange labled crack covers the floor.
"You have been disconnected from the server."
What the actual ever loving fuck?!?!?!

Zarqawi

Repost @politigramoperator

On June 7, 2006, infamous terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed by a US airstrike on his hideout in Hibhib, Iraq.
Zarqawi was the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), an organization responsible for countless terrorist attacks during the Iraq War. AQI became infamous for its brutality, targeting military and civilians alike.
From 2004 to 2006, AQI was the main organization resisting the US-led coalition in Iraq. It would later evolve into the Islamic State (ISIS), which, in the mid-2010s, occupied large portions of land in Iraq, Syria, and Libya.
Following a raid by the British Special Air Service (SAS) in April 2006, Zarqawi was tracked to a safehouse outside of Baqubah, which was bombed by a pair of USAF F-16 fighter jets.

2023.06.08 22:53 sam_messa789 I've been banned from using amenities in my rental because of someone else's similarly looking dog misbehaving [CA]

In my apartment complex, we are adjacent to another apartment complex, owned by a different company. However, their apartment building allows us to use their pool, grills, conference centers, etc. This is advertised on my apartment building's website in writing as well as in emails (to get access) but not explicitly written in my lease.
Recently I believe that there may have been a guest for the summer with another chow chow dog, because I have had people come up to me and ask me if he's "the unfriendly one" and ask if I have a dog walker. Apparently, there is a girl (I'm a guy) who has a chow chow who is super reactive and tried to attack other residents dogs. I received an email from their apartment management telling me that I'm not longer welcome due to my dog's behavior but I have never brought my dog to their property at all. It explicitly states that I can't go over there even without my dog.
I emailed them and my leasing office about this and they just said that the other complex may ban me for any reason at their discretion. This is kind of petty and stupid but... is there anyway to resolve this? Do I have legal recourse?

2023.06.08 22:53 SarenaZafrina Unsolicited birthing pictures

Short rant here. No advice needed.
A little context on my myself: I am CF. Everyone knows I'm CF. I believe that choosing to procreate is inherently selfish but I'm not a jerk about that point and am not vocal about that unless the other person I'm talking to is. I actually love children and have spent 23+ years working in childcare. I just love sending the children home more and value my personal time.
A good friend of mine that I also work for rents out a house that is next to her own home (she owns both properties) to a very young couple that are also her nephew and neice-in-law. They are a very sweet couple and when they started renting were expecting their first child. Everyone was/is super excited for them because they will be very good parents and they have a wonderful support system. They had their baby just a few days ago. Within minutes of the baby being born my friend/boss started sending me pictures of just after the birth. I don't mind baby pictures but I fail to see the appeal of just birthed goo covered newborn pictures. Even at that I can still understand the excitement so I usually let the goo pics slide. These pictures, however, were of just a bit more than the baby. They were of the mom and dad and a bit more. What had happened is that in the dad's excitement over everything going on he sent out the pictures to people before croping them. I totally understand his excitement and forgetfulness. My friend/boss? Not so much. So not only did my friend/boss start to immediately share these pictures with me and many others through text but she also shared pictures of the mom's just given birth vagina! I told her I was excited for them and am happy that everyone is healthy and all fingers and toes are accounted for. But then I pointed out that the pictures are still uncropped and that she was sharing pictures of the mom's vagina. I worded it in a way that my primary point was that I was happy for them first and almost as an afterthought that "hey, you know we can see that, right?" type of way. Like trying to subtly tell someone they're fly is open without embarrassing them. My friend's reply was that "only you would be the one to notice and say something. Everyone else only talked about the baby." Internally I was rolling my eyes and saying to myself that I very highly doubt the mom would want pictures of her freshly stretched vagina shared with everyone.
Anyone else get unsolicited birthing pictures?

Paul wrote in rebuke to Israel about having uneducated zeal for God as they attempted to define his righteousness apart from him.
Then you have the religious leaders who were rebuked bc they were drowning in knowledge that doesn't evolve into practical love. Which is the twin of zeal w/o knowledge.
I've seen, & probably been, both in my walk. In my brokenness I still may be in a sense. But not out of blind zeal or intentional hypocrisy. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be in theaters beginning June 2. If you're wondering how and where you can watch it yourself, take a look at the information below.
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.
The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only a few weeks away, and fans can’t wait to see the new adventures of Miles Morales. Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Here’s what you need to know.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' features the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy. Just before the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, producers of the feature have announced a couple of other projects. Producer Amy Pascal has announced a forthcoming third installment titled Beyond the Spider-Verse expected to be released next year. That is not the only project announced.
Paint-on-glass, Realistic Cartoon-style to Japanese Manga, makers explore not a couple but way too many animation styles! Shameik Moore’s Miles, in a way, gets a Star-Lord-like treatment in which he beautifully balances his character arc without overstepping the broader scheme of things. Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen finally gets a chance to narrate her side of things, and it mixes well with the ‘star-crossed’ relationship she’s currently sharing with Miles.
If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel. You won’t be waiting long, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally coming out in 2023, a full five years later. It’s been a long wait but by all indications the film is going to be a blast for fans of comic book movies, Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man, and this new animated franchise featuring the iconic webslinger.
Modern cinema has seen the gap between theatrical and streaming releases shorten dramatically, begging the question of when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release online. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming releases have been much closer to the theatrical release of films. While the mid-COVID marketing technique of releasing movies in theaters and on streaming services at the same time for an extra price is a thing of the past, the gap between the respective releases is still considerably shorter than in decades past.
While we currently don’t know the exact online release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we do know the movie will be released in cinemas worldwide, including the US and UK, on June 2nd, 2023. We know where to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online, but do we also know when? We can guess once again, assuming it charts the same theater-to-streaming path as Into the Spider-Verse did in 2018 with two months between the theatrical release and its digital renting/buying services. You may be able to buy or rent the movie digitally as early as late July of this year, with a physical release roughly a month or so after that, if not sooner. This also means that you will probably be able to stream Spider-Man: Across on Netflix in early December 2023, as it took about six months from Into the Spider-Verse’s release before the movie landed on the streamer.

When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?

Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.

When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.

How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!

Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:

As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.

2023.06.08 22:51 BetExciting80 Wall removal in the US?

Hi! What is the procedure regarding wall removals in the US? Who do I need to contact to remove a wall in my apartment?
First logical step is to find out whether the wall is load-bearing or not. Does a structural engineer make this assessment, how? Where do I find the blueprints/drawings for a particular building? I imagine that the structural engineer would need drawings to make a conclusion.
Do I need permission to remove the wall if it is not load-bearing?
And lastly, what would a reasonable price be to have a structural engineer make an investigation? Can it be done remotely with the basis of the drawings or do the engineer have to be on-site?
Thanks.

2023.06.08 22:51 dongchimmaster What is the eviction process like?

There is a tenant in a rent stabilized apartment in a condo complex in a nice neighborhood. The condo owners are trying to sell the unit. It is the only listing for sale in the neighborhood at a relatively affordable price, and there is a potential buyer who wants to buy it to live in it. The sellers offered a buyout to the tenant but the tenant rejected it. The owners are trying to sell with the rent stabilized tenant in place and have their potential buyer deal with it. It seems like legally a buyer is entitled to move in, but also the tenant has the right to refuse a buyout which would force the case to court, right? How this would most likely go down in court? Does the eviction moratorium apply in this situation?
Thanks!

2023.06.08 22:51 JakishaFromStateFarm Can a landlord force me to pay a month-to-month lease after my intial lease ended because my roomate is staying? (Idaho)

I jointly signed a one-year lease with my roomate that ends this month. I gave 30 day notice, as per my lease agreement, that I will not be renewing the lease. However, my roomate wishes to stay on the lease. The landlord is attempting to write up a new lease with my roomate that doesn't include my name, but my roomate is hard to get into contact with and has been very slow in the process of providing documentation that they will be able to pay for the apartment on their own. (I have vacated the place completely so I do not see them).
Now, I contact the landlord and ask, if my roomate fails to provide all the documentation , I am not required to pay anything right? (I am getting anxious since I do not have the money and we are getting close to the date my lease ends) I am let loose since the lease ended and they cannot make me renew a contract I do not want to renew, right? Well, no, according to the landlord. I would have to be on a month-to-month lease with my roomate until they sign the new lease without my name on it, as per the lease contract that I signed.

Well, I looked over the contract and it says this: "This agreement will automatically renew on a month-to-month basis unless Resident renews lease agreement with Management or written notice of termination is given by EITHER PARTY at least thirty days before desired termination date. Resident agrees to pay a month-to-month fee of $75.00 if this agreement shall renew on a month-to-month basis after the intial term." I assume "either party" refers to me and my roomate, meaning I would actually be off the hook since I did give 30 day notice. -- or am I misinterpreting and either party refers to management? Is it actually legal to make me pay the month-to-month lease?
Thanks

2023.06.08 22:51 6ETTIN_BUCK Why is it called mom's basement? (Rambly post, need an outlet for my musings)

I saw a post from a guy on Instagram advocating for living at "mum's yard" instead of blowing £2k a month renting in Canary Wharf to save up much quicker and be able to achieve home ownership sooner (in the UK, home ownership is seen as ideal for a variety of reasons).
I saw a load of comments going on about how living "with mum" is so embarrassing and whatever. Then, I started thinking "why does everyone go on about mum? Doesn't anyone have a father anymore?". I wasn't born into a functional family, but both I grew up with both of my parents around. It was a traditional arrangement: my father was the breadwinner, mum was homemaker that was given zero responsibility over paying bills and shit (so the prospect of leaving my father who is an abuser to her struck fear because she didn't think she would manage the new responsibilities - you could say the way she lived infantalised her and she was raised to have no agency).
Anyway, looking at my case, if I was to live at "home", it's my dad's yard. It's been obvious for a long time he doesn't see my mum as having any rights to "his" house (and it's "his" in his eyes because he bought it yet he never allowed my mum to work so he could keep control over her). Where I currently live isn't my mum's either. Yes, I live with family, but ultimately it's my mother's mother's house, the house my mother grew up in (grandad went back to Bangladesh before I was born, he was the same way to my grandmother my father was to my mother but things got sour enough for him to decide to return to my family's home country).
In South Asian culture, it's expected that women live at home until they're married... Then they move in with their husband... Who might still live with his parents (which is exactly the case for my older sister and brother in law). Men are encouraged to say at home until they can afford to own a house or can request social housing after marriage because there isn't enough space for his wife and kids. Despite this norm, it's clear men are seen as having authority. E.g., my paternal grandfather's household (a small overcrowded council house) had his wife, seven kids plus one of my great grandmothers (may have even been his mother, he's the the firstborn so his mother may have given birth to him as a teenager), plus my mum and older brother. Yet, he was described as a strong character and authority figure. In contrast, it seems like a modern western guy in the same household as his mother is seen as someone not to be taken seriously.
Side note: I don't get the whole man flu thing either. My father isn't some expressive open book, even if in public he puts on a sociable facade. I've only seen him actually sick one time (well sick enough to be fed medicine by my mum) and I was a toddler that time - it was weird for me to see that because I wasn't used to the man I used to see as a strong superhero like that, plus in my family I only witnessed the women and kids complaining/expressing anything. Sure, there'd be the odd cold like anyone else, but from what I recall he never engaged in sympathy seeking behaviour like what the man flu meme suggests (from what I've seen if basically says guys act like fucken' babies when they're sick). Hell, he drove the family in his car to our extended family five hours away straight after a shift at work on a few occasions.
I guess I'm frustrated with being in the middle of two cultures. I'm exmuslim, so naturally I'd want a partner who can accept me not being Muslim. But it's hard for me to see the point in getting with a never Muslim (that's a whole other can of worms because admitting to family that you left Islam is literally dangerous). And then if I marry a Muslim, well, plenty of Muslims will likely take issue with a disbeliever. Still, I'm tempted to be like fuck it, marry a Muslim woman in a few years that is an all around kind person who wouldn't pressure someone else into anything.
Further, I wonder what sort of inner work a man should do to prevent becoming some incompetent purposeless dumbass that hasn't matured enough. I find it hard not to think that this supposed issue with modern men being like boys that demand bo respect means that some women feel like they're being put into the position of devouring mother (I'm probably phrasing this bit wrong but basically it seems to me like the devouring mother and devoured boy dynamic continues). Am I just fearing a fate where it turns out I'm good at fuck all and have no purpose and will never have a domain in life that's truly my own?
