Car needs: Valve Cover, Control arms, Shocks/struts (4), rotors, calipers, and pads. Tires were wearing unevenly on outer edge, vibrating at speeds greater than 80+, and pulling left when I would apply medium pressure to the brake.
All in repair cost is about 100% retail value of the car.
My repair knowledge ends at changing brakes, oil, batteries, etc.
80% driven less than 3 miles to work. 90% driven less than 15 miles per trip.
I am the original owner. The only major maintenance done on the car was timing belt replaced at 75000.

So I use the original A7S in my work. It’s served me well for the most part but I’m noticing more and more it’s missing focus by a fair margin.
This is both manual and auto focus, the display or view finder will look like a crisp image with or without peaking but when I load it up on the computer I’ll have missed the mark by a nose length on a face or a few inches on a car.
Is this a common issue with the original A7S? I’m looking to upgrade anyway and wondering if this persisted in the A7S II

Traveller! One of the grand dads of the RPG industry. You get a space ship, you have to pay down its mortgage. And you have to traveller. Wanna do some trading? Yea. Wanna explore odd places? Yea. Do you ever dream of playing a middle age person, just decide to up end their life, get in a space ship and try that for a while? Yea! Will trade provide enough money to pay for your goals and the ship? Better start taking on odd jobs.
Oh no, those odd jobs have gotten you all into a delicate and deep web of adventure.
Traveller at its base level, is a space adventure and trade game. Similar to games to like Elite. Its inspired shows such as Firefly and games such as Bethesda upcoming Starfield. You make a character with a life path system. Operate a space ship. Try to trade to get rich. And hopefully the adventures dont ruin you financially.
This is a sandbox Traveller game, restricted to 4 sub sectors around Mora. Each player is encourage to set up their own goals. As the PC traveller through the area, they'll start forming friendships and flesh out planets and sophonts living there.
Why restrict the area of play? Well some games can claim a very large playable areas, most games dont come close to how big Traveller is.
The default setting that Mongoose uses is Third Imperium in year 1105. The Third Imperium alone has over 15k solar systems. Each of them named, many of them having a wikia entry on them.
Travellermap.com and just zoom out. Its a big place. And if you continue to zoom out, you'll see how how small it is compared to Milky Way. To see where the game is taking place, there is a search box. Type in Mora. They'll be a planet with that name in the Mora subsector.
Beyond the nearly weekly adventure per planet, there will also be a larger storyline that can be followed and be explored and played through. And I hope to really get to know the characters and players. The Traveller by its nature is a large world, and Players and GM will be jointly helping to make and fill out NPCs.
There are number factions already formed at play, to help give players the type of experience they want. Space pirates? We got space pirates. Want to do social intrigue? There are 4 Noble families all bickering with themselves trying to one up and covet each other holding. Wanna go military? The Sword Worlder love to raid into Lunion! And if they just wanna be guys in a space truck, trying to get make ends meet, then we can do that. Because its in space, even mundane fetch quests can just get weirder.

Someone help me out here. I'm following FP in Scala, the red book and I am currently at chapter 4, where we define our own `Option` type. This type, like other collections, takes a covariant type parameter `A`:

enum Option[+A]: case Some(value: A) case Nothing 

The book then asks to implement some methods for this type, including:

def getOrElse[B >: A](default: => B): B = this match case Some(value) => value case Nothing => default 

This is where the confusion starts. Notice the type parameter annotation `B >: A`. As far as I can tell, this means `B` is a supertype of `A`. I read this as a constraint. I can only pass values of types which are supertypes of `A` to this method. However, the following compiles without any issue:

Here we have `Item` which is a supertype of `Buyable` which is a supertype of `Book` and a type `Yolo` which has no connection to the other 3 (that we see explicitly, I'll get to this later). What I would expect is that only values of type `Item` or `Buyable` could be passed as an argument to `getOrElse`. However, it accepts `aBook` and even `aYolo` completely fine.
I got a bit closer to why by inspecting the types in the Scala REPL:

scala> :type x.getOrElse(anItem) Item scala> :type x.getOrElse(aBook) Buyable scala> :type x.getOrElse(aYolo) Object 

Here we see what happens: the first case is fine. `Item` is a supertype of `Buyable`, so this satisfies the type constraint of `getOrElse` and returns an `Item`. The second case, I would have expected to be a compilation error: `Book` is not a supertype of `Buyable`, so this doesn't comply to the type signature. However, we see that Scala implicitly casts my `Book` to a `Buyable`, resulting in valid code. The last case takes this even a step further. `Yolo` has no relation to `Buyable` at first glance, except that both are subtypes of `Object`. So Scala implicitly casts this expression to `Object`.
To me, this makes no sense. If Scala implicitly goes up the inheritance tree, then why does it need the `[B :> A]` constraint on `getOrElse`? Scala has a top type, every type is a subtype of `Any`. By doing implicit casting, I can pas any value of any type (pun intended) to this method because if you allow implicit casting, the contraint means nothing. Worst case scenario, I get back an `Any`.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a way to turn off this implicit casting?

Hey all, title is my situation. Live in Wisconsin and see a car I want to buy and pay in cash for down in Illinois. What laws/things do I need to be aware of? I’m assuming I need to pay tax when I go to register it at the DMV, but do I need to get a temp plate right after purchasing? Or can I drive it across the state lines to home and be fine? Appreciate it!

In my app I have large object that I have disposed, but when I run the memory profiler it is still showing up, and the app is still showing 2GB of memory usage (it's less than 100MB before I load the object).
I've dug through the code everywhere but I cannot find any active object instances that have a reference to it...
I've forced a GC but the object is still there. So somebody still has a handle to it somewhere...
Is there a way to profile the app to see the hierarchy of the objects in memory?

I was talking to NK about what we should make for Father's Day. I showed her 2 ideas, which she didn't seem interested in. I asked her if she had any other ideas. She responds "I already got Daddy a present." So I respond that it's great her and Mommy picked out a present, but I like to help her make presents because then it can be something special just from her. She says "No! You and me, we already made daddy a present!"
Like, I know I have a bad memory, but I'm pretty sure I didn't forget pre-making a Father's day present. She keeps insisting we already made steps for daddy. Finally, she says "I'll show you!" Runs out of the room, and comes back with last year's present, which was a footprint made out of cement.
It's always such a relief to figure out what she's talking about. And I'm always impressed, this kid has a better memory than anyone I know. But kid, Father's Day happens every year, and we usually do a NEW present every year. Can't exactly say "hey Dad, I gave you a present when I was one and a half, that fulfills your lifetime quota!"

So I made a custom kane, My thing is he can't pick up anybody like Andre the Giant or The Big Show which he has done in real life. Is there any way besides turning off the weight limit to pick up heavier opponents? I just saw another custom character do it with ease. I mean like the pickup carry

I visited my good friend's place. He's a locally popular classic rock drummer whose band has recently reached its 25th anniversary. And he proudly showed me his most recent collection.
It turns out that his wife gave him an ultimatum: either get rid of all those rock magazines and old posters or... get rid of all those rock magazines and old posters.
My friend spent a lot of money having his favorite pictures from those magazines and posters mounted and now they are displayed in rows and rows in his hallways and rooms.
I mean, it's his money and all, but I can't help thinking that his band, modest and little recognized as it might be, would look much better adorning his walls, as a tribute to all those 25 years.
Instead, beautiful but meaningless pics of famous classic rock artists and bands kind of mock me from the walls.

Hi everyone, UK based here.
I was looking into seeing what my options were in regards to "sporty" hybrid coupes were in the UK and the majority of my searches narrowed down to the lexus RC300h (if I had more money the LC would be an option ha ha).
I had the oppourtunity to test drive the RC last weekend and whilst it was a nice drive with a good pick up speed at traffic lights, one thing I noted was the onboard mpg that the car calculated was only 33.5mpg? From my the advertised fuel economy I was expecting somewhere much more nearer the 50ish range. For context my current VW polo averages 44mpg so I was a bit shocked.
Does anyone have any first hand experience regarding the RC300h and its fuel economy? I know that online video reviewers state there are much better comparisons in BMW & Audi with better fuel economy but there were not hybrid and I am looking into hybrids possibly as the next logical step for my next car and to consider low emission zone policies in the nearby area and to reduce eventual fuel price increases.

The 2nd hand market in the UK is unfortunately incredibly overpriced at the moment so I understand that the current price is outrageous for a 6yr old car. If this is a total rip off please let me know! ha ha
Would anyone also be able to give me insight into whether that 1 non-lexus servicing history would make it void for me taking it to a lexus dealership for a hybrid battery health check which I think lexus are able to do for up to 100,000 miles? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why they just let janos slynt and Alister thorne start running the wall again when they showed up at the wall during the willing siege? Seemed like someone should have stuck up for Jon instead of just letting him stay in the cold rooms for 4 days.
Also is there any reason for Alister being a such a cunt? Like is there any back story or is he just a dick?
