It’s full on “proper” techno, with a trippy/psychedelic feel throughout, ending on an almost trancy note.

Hey everyone, I've been struggling recently on making up a (what should be) simple network topology. Link is here: https://imgur.com/a/unD88qC
For background: 1. I want PC 1, 2, and 4 to be able to talk to each other 2. All PCs within their own boundary should be able to talk to the other PCs within that boundary only (with the exception of above)

1. I can not modify the IP addresses already assigned (everything is on a 192.168.1.0/24). I can change the gateways.
   
2. I can not modify the switch attached to 1.50 and 1.75, assume its an out-of-box L2 switch
   

I'd like to use ACLs to complete this by controlling the outgoing traffic from each layer 3 switch. (i.e Fa0/4 with an out ACL to stop PC5 from reaching outside its boundary).
To my understanding one (of many) would look like (middle switch):

I recognize there's an implicit deny at the bottom, that should cover anything not listed from "leaving" the "boundary". After I apply this ACL to the port, for some reason all traffic no matter the source or destination still passes through that switch, port, and ACL as if it was never applied.

I think i've dug my mind into a rabbit's hole and have confused myself over what I believe should be rather easy. Do I need to have routing enabled or GW set somewhere specific?

Hey there,
I have a NetBox server with 2 CPUs and 8GB of RAM. It also runs a webhook handler specific to NetBox. These webhooks will make basic changes via Ansible, like update a port description or change a port's mode based on updates to interfaces. However, there have been times where I've tried to update 10+ interfaces at a time, which will then cause the webhook handler to take on 10 webhooks/execute 10 scripts at the same time. This seems to spike CPU usage for varying amounts of time, depending on the number of interfaces I attempted to update. The spike causes the VM console to freeze up and often causes some of the webhooks to not execute properly.
I'm just curious if anyone else is using their NetBox server as a webhook handler, and if so, what specs it's deployed with to get it to work smoothly. I made a post in Netbox, but figured I'd add it here as well for exposure.

• Noted about 25 urges (10 at night)
• On my morning walk tried mentally "noting" everything I observed and thought. This had the effect of keeping me present in my surroundings when I would normally disappear into thoughts of the past and future. I have been searching for method to keep me present on walks and I will definitely try this again.
• I even saw a huge wedge tail eagle carry off a rabbit!
• Being the sex addict I am, I have collected an assortment of individual and couples sex toys. I have packed these away in a box for at least the next 90 days.
• Relapses often happen in my office late at night so I have gotten into the routine of locking my office when I finish work in the afternoon.
• Did a meditation in the afternoon and when I woke from a nightmare during the night.
• No weights on this day as I am quite sore from the tree adventure course the day before.
• 1 day till the 2 week milestone.

Hi all, I'm trying to get klipper running on my CR-6 max and I've tried everything I can think of and it's still failing on the 3rd layer.
So far I've tried:
Rotation distance of the z axis - it's perfect at 8 I have a set of 123 blocks for calibration and when I request 25.4mm the 1 inch block fits perfectly underneath.
Calibrated the extruder - it was over extruding a bit so after a little while when I request 50mm of filament it extrudes 50mm
Played with a few slicer settings, I was using prusa slicer so I tried super slicer to see if that made a difference and nothing. I then tried to slow the print down to see if speed was an issue and of course no. Tried lowering extrusion width and nothing
Then I calibrated the strain gauge, which if anyone has done it's a terrible process.
Then I looked at the bed mesh, realized I had fade on starting at layer 1 and ending layer 10 so I took that out and tried again. Nothing.
Then I screwed all the bed screws down all the way and leveled the bed from there. It's a 400x400 and it's now within .08mm variance so I think it's as close to perfect as it's ever been.
Then is said f it and went back to marlin and have perfect prints.
I have to be missing something... I'll post my printer file if anyone smarter than me can take a look.

Hey there,
I have a NetBox server with 2 CPUs and 8GB of RAM. It also runs a webhook handler specific to NetBox. These webhooks will make basic changes via Ansible, like update a port description or change a port's mode based on updates to interfaces. However, there have been times where I've tried to update 10+ interfaces at a time, which will then cause the webhook handler to take on 10 webhooks/execute 10 scripts at the same time. This seems to spike CPU usage for varying amounts of time, depending on the number of interfaces I attempted to update. The spike causes the VM console to freeze up and often causes some of the webhooks to not execute properly.
I'm just curious if anyone else is using their NetBox server as a webhook handler, and if so, what specs it's deployed with to get it to work smoothly.

Sorry for the long post but wanted to put lots of context into this.
This past weekend, my friend (single mother of 2 kids) asks if I can help her move apartments. She tells me she has a new apartment and need to clear everything out of her old place in two weeks. She says she will pay for any gas I use plus provide food as needed. I agree and head over around 9 am. When I get to her place, nothing is packed. We proceed to put things into boxes until about 12 pm.
“Hey can you do me a favor? My mom needs some help so can you continue to pack while I head to her place really quick. It’s only gonna be 30 minutes.” She says. I agree and she heads out. I continue to stay behind and pack. It’s about 1:30 pm now and I’m starving.
“When are you coming back? I’m hungry.” I text.
“Sorry my mom asked me to go run some errands with her. Can you please help me and continue to pack? I promise I’ll take you out to a nice dinner later.” She replies.
“Ok but are you gonna come back and help me? Is anyone else coming to help me?”
“Not really…I’m sorry I don’t feel comfortable asking other guys to come to my house and handle my personal things. I can trust you. Plus I don’t want people other than you or my mom knowing where my new place is.”
Although I think this is messed up, I agree and continue to pack. She finally shows back up at 4 pm with a uhual which surprises me.
“You got a uhual?” I ask.
“Yeah I figured it would be easier to just rent a uhual to move the bed and sofa.” She says.
“We’re moving that today? I thought you had two weeks to move out. Are you trying to move everything TODAY? Your new place is only 5 miles down the road.”

“And there’s no one to help me lift and carry your big bed?”
“I’ll help you don’t worry. Like I said you’re my best friend and the only one I trust being here and knowing where my new place is so I don’t feel comfortable asking any other guy friend to help cause all they want is to flirt and hold me.” Not wanting to fight, I just continue on.
We start moving her bed frame from the bedroom to the outside until her neighbor comes up to us. They start speaking in Spanish which I can’t understand.
“Hold up I’ll be right back. Just a moment.” My friend says as she walks off with her neighbor. I wait for about 10 minutes until I go looking for her. I find her at her neighbors apartment sitting and drinking tea.
“Are you gonna help me move your bed frame into the uhual?” I ask.
“Yeah sorry I’ll be right there.” She says. I walk back to the apartment. I figure I’d make myself useful and start loading boxes into the uhual. Finally after almost an hour of waiting I get fed up and start moving the bed frame to the uhual by myself. I inch my way to the truck little by little. At one point, a different neighbor sees me and offers to help me which I am so grateful for. He also offers to help me move her sofa into the uhual. 7 pm now and everything is magically loaded into her truck now. She FINALLY shows back up but she’s in tears. Although I’m very angry, I first ask what’s wrong.
“My neighbor is so sweet. We just talked and she kept saying how sweet and kind I am and how much she will miss having me around and that god will bless me in my new life.” I count to 10 in my head and resist the urge to tell her off but don’t. I tell her that everything is packed but if we can call it a night and unload this stuff at her new place tomorrow. She agrees and I ask if we could go to the dinner she had offered. She says yes but just then she looks at her phone.
“Hey. I need you to get the fridge back out. Someone on Facebook offered to buy it from me.” She says.
“What? You’re selling your fridge?” I say.
“Yeah I already have a fridge at my new place and asked anyone on Facebook if they wanted my old fridge. Someone just said they want to buy it. I need you to get the fridge back out and help me clean it right now. They’re literally on their way!” The fridge is located in the uhual behind a bunch of boxes. I frantically move the boxes out of the way and we clean the fridge quickly as the buyer shows up. I help the buyer load the fridge into his truck as my friend chats with the buyers wife. We both get into the uhual but she says we need to divert to a house about 30 minutes away first cause she wants to buy a lamp from a lady she saw on Facebook marketplace. I ask her if this is essential business right now to which she says yes.
“The lady will only be home until 8 pm so we need to go now. Don’t worry I’ll buy us dinner.” We go and she buys the lamp which is huge by the way. I load it in the uhual and we head to her new apartment. I park the uhual and ask if we could go to dinner now.
“Can we unload the truck?” She ask.
“I thought we’d agree that we’d do this tomorrow? It’s almost 9 pm and we’re still moving.” I say.
“Well they said if I return the uhual to them tonight I won’t get charged for tomorrow. They have a overnight drop off location.” Unbelievable I think to myself. We start unloading and magically everything is off the truck and into her new place by midnight.
“Hey you messed up by bed frame.” She says pointing to a small scratch by the footboard.
“Well I’m sorry you wouldn’t help me load it into the truck.” I say.
“You could’ve waited like I asked and I would’ve helped you. This bed frame was expensive and it’s not cool that you messed it up.”
“You gotta be kidding me right? After I’ve helped you move all day, you want to give me an attitude like that?”
“I’m not giving you an attitude. You’re the one getting all dramatic for no reason now.”
“You know fine. I’m outta here. Forget about dinner. Thanks for wasting my day.” I leave and call an Uber to get me back to my truck at her old apartment.
“You’re fucked up. You’re suppose to be my best friend. I told you I only trust you and yeah maybe I asked a lot from you but that’s no reason to blow up on me. I actually made late dinner reservations for us but now I guess I’ll go alone or cancel. Thanks for nothing.” She texts. I ignore it. After I get my truck I drive home and go to bed.
The next morning I check my instagram and see she went out to dinner after I left last night but she definitely wasn’t alone as she was posting stories of toasting drinks. This slightly angers me. Later that day, she calls to apologize. She says the move was stressing her out and her impending divorce made her lose focus. She offered to take me out to lunch but I declined. She begged me to come over so she could take me to lunch but I still said no thanks.
Advice on how things could’ve been handled differently or how to proceed with this friendship? I am very angry over her treatment of me but also somewhat sympathetic for her divorce and stress.

I'm going to be building a home server around the i3-10100. It will primarily be for Plex, where I will open it up to various family members maybe around ~5 concurrent streams. I haven't really looked into how direct playing works, and will aim to direct play most content without transcoding. I will also use VMs and docker containers to run other typical home server software. And potentially run a game server from time to time.
Is this build sufficient? My main concern is the motherboard as it's the cheapest ITX board with this CPU socket. I'd like the server to idle at the lowest power draws possible. I have considered using the Node 804 case instead which would give access to Micro ATX boards which are more reasonably priced and more easily found second hand on ebay. Should I purchase any other components second hand?

I’m selling my brand new IV Works AV4 Claymore (Alu weight + plate) as I’ve recently started a finance role and need a Numpad! It’s a lovely board otherwise and comes with quite a few extras.
Price is £450 £330 INC shipping (trying to recoup costs).
Shipping and import tax were pretty substantial (about £150).
If bought directly from IV Works, it works out to ~£410 and takes about 3 weeks to arrive.

I am looking at purchasing Yoolax blinds with the Zigbee motor to work with my Hubitat controller. I have two windows that are in the corner of the bathroom one on each side of the corner wall. The blinds will have to be mounted outside of the window frame. According to Yoolax measuring instructions, they instruct you to measure the outside of the window frame and they will build the blind and add 3 inches on each side of the blind. This extra width will be too big for the blinds with valences to fit into the corner.
So my question or clarification for those that have purchased these for outside mount:
1) Can you confirm that the shade is overall 6 inches wider than the dimensions you gave them?
2) How much wider is the valence vs the shade fabric?
3) Was the dimension you provided plus 6 inches (assuming assumption 1 is correct) the width of the valence or the width of the shade fabric?

Hi all,
I use a new Sapphire Pulse RX 6600 video card since Jan 2023 and it functioned well without any problems. However since a few weeks, sometimes when I boot the PC there is no video signal to the monitor. The rest of the PC still seems to function as normal (when I log in with the keyboard, there is feedback on the keyboard and also sound). But whatever I do, I cannot get any video signal (e.g. turn monitor off and on, change the cable, connect monitor on different DP port, change from DP to HDMI, connect a different monitor with DP cable and DP-to-VGA adapter...). The only thing that works is to force the PC to shut down (using the button) and then start it again. Often this works but sometimes I have to repeat this multiple times.
To solve the issue, I have tried unsuccessfully so far:
- Everything listed above
- Updating driver to latest version
- Full reinstall of drivers using DDU

Please let me kniw if you need any other info about the system (Win 10).
Any idea what else I can check? Is this problem related to a defect video card? Or are there other causes that I can first check?

Extreme weather is no joking matter. While you may be used to some natural disasters in your hometown, others could still pose a threat you haven’t yet encountered.
Consider these life-saving tips when you’re preparing to survive the next natural disaster that rolls through.

Tornadoes

Tornadoes strike when conditions are windy enough, and they can be devastating. The only way for a tornado to stop is for it to burn itself out. Since there isn’t a way to fight a tornado, you should be on your guard and prepare for the upcoming terrible weather in your own way.

1. Get to Lower Ground

You should know that the safest place to be during a tornado is on the ground floor of the building you reside in. However, things can get complicated if you don’t have a basement or live in an apartment complex.
If you can hide out in a parking deck or a hallway, you’ll be better off than staying where you were. If you absolutely can’t get somewhere lower, remember to cover your head and protect your body with something sturdy to prevent damage to your person.

2. Make a Plan for Everyone

Create an emergency plan for your household. The bigger your home is, the more desperately you need a plan to gather everyone in one place. Even if you haven’t experienced a disaster within the last year, you should test your plan annually to ensure everyone knows what to do in the event of a tornado.
Folks with special needs, such as those who have mobility aids or even pets, may need plans tailored to them. They may not be able to evacuate or get to the same level as everyone else, and you should create individualized plans for them. Having a plan of their own will help them feel less anxious during an emergency.

3. Keep a Safe Box of Essentials

You’ll want a sturdy box full of essentials to keep safe with you in the event of a tornado. This box should include a first-aid kit, non-perishable foods, and more. Make sure you gather all of your important contacts, such as neighbors or faraway relatives you’ll want to check in with, in one place where you can easily access them after the storm passes.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes are dangerous natural disasters that typically strike the coast but can also strike many miles inland. They require extensive preparation, as there’s much to worry about both during and after a storm. In addition, they can constantly evolve, so hurricanes typically don’t stay at the same danger level as the day before.

1. Take Shelter Immediately

Hurricanes bring strong winds and rain with them. Plenty of people board up their windows in case the glass shatters. You can expect the hurricane to hit your house hard, so take any precautions you need to. Prepare your home for the storm ahead of time, and you’ll be fit to shelter in place or evacuate without worrying about your most important assets.

2. Always Evacuate When Needed

Depending on the category of the storm, you may have to leave your home. Keeping your television tuned to the news can help you understand the best time to go or whether you should leave at all. If you plan to leave, remember to take your pets with you. They’re an irreplaceable part of your family. Just keep an eye on the weather, and you can decide what steps to take from there.

3. Stay Out of the Water

Several diseases or pollutants could contaminate the water left over by hurricanes. You might accidentally swallow something you didn’t mean to. The best way to ensure you stay away from the water is to have an emergency flotation device just in case and prepare for the absolute worst before the storm arrives.

Floods

Floods may seem tame compared to other extreme weather conditions, but it’s one of the most difficult to adjust to. When water surrounds you, you’re stuck in place and can do nothing but wait for it to recede. You might get cabin fever, but as long as you prepare to stay inside for a few days, you should feel ready to brave the storm.

1. Watch the Water Levels

Just as you would watch the news for any extreme weather in your area, you should watch out your windows and keep an eye on the rising water level. If you’ve been through floods before, you should know how much you can handle.
It’s unlikely you’ll need anything after preparing for the flood, but if the water levels are still low and you think you can safely drive in it, you may still be able to make a final trip to the store.

2. Get to High Ground

If you can find shelter on higher ground, move as soon as you can. Take your valuables and evacuate your home, particularly if it sits low before the water gets too high. Only time will tell how long it’ll take for floodwaters to recede, so plan to be away from your home for a while.
If you don’t feel the need to evacuate your home right now, keep your radio tuned to public news stations to see if evacuation orders end up being issued – and have a place in mind to go if that order comes.

3. Only Drink Boiled Water

Because a flood can cause water pipe breakage, you should rely on bottled water to hydrate your household during and shortly after a flood. If you must use water from the tap, boil it first to eliminate any contaminants that may have entered. Even if you don’t plan to drink the water, make sure it’s boiled before it touches you or any other living thing.

Blizzards are known for the intense snowstorms that sometimes roll through in the winter, taking electricity with them as they fizzle out. Even if the blizzard you’re faced with isn’t powerful, you should prepare for the power to go out.
Also, properly winterize your car before the blizzard comes by outfitting it with new tires and getting it checked, just in case you need to brave the aftermath of the storm.

1. Gather Candles

In addition to other emergency supplies, you’ll need candles. Proper candles and matches can keep you warm if you don’t have another option. Candles might not be as powerful as a fireplace, but they can give off enough warmth in a small area to supplement the blankets and clothing layers you’re using. Remember to watch the flames carefully, and don’t let children and pets near them.

2. Designate One Room to Live In

After a blizzard, you may find that your power is out for days. Before the storm arrives, designate one room in your living space to be the spot where everyone lives for the next few days. Your whole household spending time in one room will draw warmth to that area. This way, you only need to focus on stocking one room full of blankets and candles, and you can seal off the rest of your home.

3. Equip Yourself Properly

You likely won’t leave your house during a blizzard, but after the storm settles and it leaves snow behind, that’s another story.
Shoveling sidewalks and driveways so you can go somewhere might be an excellent idea, but make sure you do it carefully and wear the proper winter clothing. Also, whenever you choose to leave your house, carry salt or sand to throw on the ground, so you don’t slip on ice.

The southwestern United States already knows of the dangers of dust storms, but they can happen anywhere in the country, so it’s worth it to be prepared. The remnants of thunderstorms or small tornadoes can create dust storms, especially in dry areas. When soil and dirt get scooped into the air and thrown around, your best bet is to stay indoors and preserve your health.

1. Stay Indoors

The most crucial piece of advice you’ll receive when facing a dust storm is to stay inside. Inhaling dust can be detrimental to your health, especially in large quantities. Before the dust storm arrives, prepare everything you need to be inside.
If you have a dog who needs frequent walks, try to limit your time outdoors. It could be worth it to train your dog to use a puppy pad – similar to how a cat uses a litter box – so you can clean up after them without having to expose yourself or your pup to the dangers of a dust storm.

2. Have Facial Coverings Ready

In dust storms, you’ll find dust everywhere. You may have to venture outside the protection of your home, so it pays off to have facial coverings ready. Goggles can protect your eyes from the grit flying around, while a face mask can prevent the dust from getting into your nostrils or mouth. This way, you can avoid dust entering your lungs and remain safe. Try to limit trips outside until the dust storm has passed.
