2023.06.08 22:48 DigitalWeepingGhost 33 [M4F] Southern California- trying to seriously date in your 30’s is like trying to hit the lotto 😭😭
Am I the only one who finds Dating in your 30’s mind boggling and discouraging? I mean you’re in this awkwardly sweet spot of being too old or too young for people. I try to date somebody my age (30+) and I’m too young wtf lol. Anyway Im I’m living in a personal dating hell lol. SO here I am on Reddit, dragging myself from shores of the digital cesspools we call dating apps. I’m putting a serious effort in finding a warm, loving, loyal, genuine respectful person to call my life partner and enjoy life together. As Ozzy Osborne says “I’m shooting my shot in the dark” (great song btw)
I am a 33 year old professional from the east coast currently living in Southern California for the past 4 years and been single for 5 years sadly. I have an amazing career as a clothing designer and graphic artist and a clothing brand owner all of which is my dream jobs and occupations. I got to meet celebrities and work with them on numerous projects which is always exciting. My social life here is kinda dull since moving to California. I only get to interact with people if it’s networking in the industry, unfortunately I’m a shy guy. But when I open up to being comfortable I’m a total charismatic gem. I’m a very loyal, chivalrous, respectful, loving, genuine, thoughtful, monogamous, spontaneous, funny, patient, open minded, adventurous, intellectual. I’m also Very goal driven, motivating, and a supportive man always wanting the best for you and your life. I Can be clingy but not in a stalker smothering way, more so the type of guy who craves giving my undivided affection and attention to who I’m with 110%. I want the person I’m with feel loved and thought about 24/7. Willing to relocate wherever for the right one if it gets to that point. Just to be with you ❤️.
Physically…I look like a potato 😂 jk I’m 6ft tall 180 lbs ( definitely in shape) Mixed race of black and Chinese, nice light brown /caramel skin, long braided auburn colored hair ( alien hair honestly because it naturally changes colors with the temperature outside) 6 tattoos 2 nose piercings, brown eyes and I was always told I have nice eyes and godly eyelashes 🫥 which idk how to take but yea it’s a thing i guess lol. Heres some pics of me
https://imgur.com/a/9I9JwxJ :) I dress very nicely from what I was always told. Most of the time I have a punk & streetwear meshed aesthetic.
My day to day bullshit aka hobbies and interest: •Making art is my ❤️ •Designing clothes for my brand •Go to the beach •Workout 5-6 days a week •Reading •Practice choreography and dance (I used to be in a competitive dance battle group Let me teach you some moves 💃🕺) •learning about space or nature •cooking (yes I can out cook you, don’t try it 😂) •infatuated with nature and the outdoors •learning and teaching new things •listening to good music •Gaming and streaming on twitch during the weekends and some weeknights after work. •I read manga and watch anime BUT let me put a disclaimer…THIS doesn’t mean I want to talk about this stuff all day everyday lol. Yes let’s watch something together or discuss a theory or two, but don’t wake up with it on your mind first thing in the day. It’s a turnoff tbh.
What I’m looking for in you? Yes…we all have a preference that’s totally normal. But some people are unreasonably picky lol. So first off ill say that I don’t care what religion or race you are or If you want kids or have one already. Those things don’t determine who will love me and vice versa. So come and talk to me I won’t reject you. However I do need a woman that’s:
•Goal driven and goal oriented. •Monogamous •Knows what she wants in life and in a man •Funny, smart, respectful, not afraid to commit (like me), loving, imperfect, genuine, seriously loyal, feminine, supportive, educated, non political, outgoing, loves to travel/explore. •looking for a serious long term relationship •Cultured •Physically active and healthy (not saying you need to be a model or even close but at least be active or in shape like I am. I used to be obese years ago and I don’t plan on going back and I see WAYYY too many woman demanding a fit male but don’t even want to workout themselves.) •Drug free and std free (I’m 420 and psychedelic friendly) •26+ in age living in the U.S, definitely a plus if you live in California.
So hopefully you made it this far, hopefully I caught somebodies eye, hopefully the love of my life is reading this…please send an introduction of yourself with a SFW selfie. Please be local or in California. It’s easier for us to see each other and bond 💜
Thank you for reading this. There’s so much more about me for you to learn, in a good way lol.
TLDR: I need a boothang to make my queen ❤️😊

2023.06.08 22:48 mtv117 Which saint should I pray to?
Hello everyone, I’ve currently been struggling with my feelings for my coworker (friend). Bottom line is, I’m in love with her. My spiritual father has told me I have an unhealthy attachment to her and therefore I have to learn to disconnect. I know this is what I’m supposed to do and work on myself, but I can’t stop thinking about her and just wanting to be with her. Not even sexually, I just want to hold her and be with her and around her. These feelings are really bring me down and I don’t want to work on myself (workout, educate myself, grow) for the sake of impressing her. I want to do it for my own self and to love myself because that’s something I’m lacking. My prayer life has been lacking and I know that’s a big reason as to why I’m feeling this way. Which saints should I pray to for help? I’ve heard St. Xenia has helped with finding a spouse and those who are in despair, loneliness and anxiety. Would she be a good saint to pray to? Can you give me some other saints as well? And brothers/sisters please pray for me that the Lord may grant me strength to overcome this trial. (As feeble as it may seem, I’m suffering)

2023.06.08 22:47 Crafty_Schedule4540 Thinking about quitting my job because of Rosacea
I am currently taking Clonidine for my flushing and it has been working great but only for the ‘afternoon flush’ I rarely will get that one big horrendous flush at the end of the day anymore however I work outside doing manual labour and any sort of strain combined with heat/sun and I’m completely red, hot, burning, swollen up just plain horrible and depending on how hard I have to work it only gets worse and the longer it will last.
I’ve always had the saying that ‘you will never feel worse after working hard’ and this has helped me a lot in life with things like working out or getting a job finished etc but now it seems the complete opposite the harder I work the worse I feel at the end of the day because I’m a beetroot and basically unable to enjoy the afternoon and sometimes it will spill into Saturday/Sunday if I’m red enough the day before, I genuinely hate how this is even a consideration and I hate this silly condition

2023.06.08 22:47 Hedgehogvr2 Theory on the current state of composer edition (made after a long day of doing stuff, probs doesn’t make sense)
Here’s how I think the updates will drop:
Mythicals: added when the haven mythical comes out.
Aux seasonals: will be released when all aux seasonals are on their own islands.
Magicals: added some time after carroling is added, or alongside it.
Wubboxes and wublins: added some time during whatever month galvana is available in DOF
Fire monsters: some time after these other updates.
Celestials: added some time after the fire monsters, each being added on their own respective month.
Now, on to a weirder theory, Mimic.
I think mimic is coming to composer. We don’t have the recording studio on composer edition, so this is the perfect opportunity to add mimic! Whether or not it would be canon to msm would be a whole new can of worms, but yeah, mimic.

2023.06.08 22:47 sewistforsix Husband wants ten and eleven year old daughters to use the riding lawn mowers
Help me out here. I am aware that this may be a family culture thing because my husband grew up mowing the lawn starting when he was 9 and driving the farm truck in the field when he was 4, but my husband and I farm and live out in the country. We have a lot of mowing to do, but it is just about the only chore of my husband’s that hasn’t sort of eventually become my chore (different post for a different sub probably). It takes about two hours to mow the entire thing.
He and his family have recently decided to fix up the third of our three riding mowers and have our two older girls (10 yo and 11 yo) mow parts of the lawn so that they can “help him out,” and he claims it will be dangerous if we wait to put them behind the wheel of a vehicle until they are 16 because they will be bad drivers who don’t understand the gravity of driving a vehicle.
My inclination is that this is a no go because:
1) They don’t really need to do one of the two weekly chores he does around the house 2) The stakes are too high and they are too immature to understand those stakes 3) Practice driving a lawnmower won’t improve their road safety when they get their licenses because the ability to make mature decisions develops with maturity, not with exposure 4) I sent the kids out with buckets today to water plants and he came home and was (unrelated) unhappy that they were still wearing pajamas and unhappy that I was inside with our newborn twins instead of supervising them. So hose and buckets needs supervision, and I’m assuming this means that I will also be responsible for supervising the mowing. 5) I don’t think it’s appropriate from both a personal perspective (kids aren’t labor and I feel this chore falls under labor, not a personal contribution to the household) and a social/external perspective (what will our neighbors/daughters’ friends’ parents think and would it potentially present an issue if someone decided to report us for this?) 6) The AAP guidelines say kids need to be 16.
His family has a history of expecting a lot more maturity from kids than they are necessarily capable of, and he has a history of not being able to hold any sort of boundary of any kind with them, specifically his mother. This has often left me in the position of being the “killjoy” when I am enforcing things that we both agree on when it’s just the two of us. I am anticipating a spirited discussion about this with him and his parents so please, give me articles, news stories, and anything evidence based to help.

2023.06.08 22:47 barelyincollege GM to use Tesla's charging network, joining Ford in leveraging EV leader's tech
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/06/08/gm-tesla-partner-on-ev-charging-network.html DETROIT — General Motors will follow crosstown rival Ford Motor in partnering with Tesla to use the electric vehicle leader’s North American charging network and technologies.
Under the deal, GM vehicles will be able to access 12,000 of Tesla’s fast chargers using an adapter and through the Detroit automaker’s EV charging app, starting next year.
GM, like Ford, will also begin installing a charging port used by Tesla, known as NACS, or the North American Charging Standard, instead of the current industry-standard CCS in its EVs starting in 2025.
The partnerships with now two leading Detroit automakers is a major win for Tesla and its charging technology. It is expected to add pressure on other automakers — as well as the U.S. government, which is investing billions in building out an EV charging network — to adopt Tesla’s technology.
The deal was announced by GM CEO Mary Barra and Tesla CEO Elon Musk during a live audio discussion Thursday on Twitter Spaces. GM is ramping up production of its fully electric vehicles in pursuit of Tesla-level sales volumes in the segment.

2023.06.08 22:46 DizzyYogurtcloset640 I want to make good money, but I also want something active and social. What degree/career would do this for me?
To preface this I (F22) like a more active and social job, not a job where I sit at a desk and interact with few people. Everyone says IT is where it is at. That sounds soul sucking for someone like me, I am not particularly into tech but I am interested in making good money.
I’ve always been drawn towards healthcare or science, BUT if you look at my page you will see I’m currently changing my path towards an Occupational Therapist as I don’t want 100k in student loan debt.
I am smart, I’m not great at math but I’ve got a 4.0 GPA and that’s with college level math and science classes. I love science and I love being active and being social.
Nursing is a no go for me, my mom is a nurse and so are all of her friends. Although they made it out good financially, the burnout is not worth it.
Engineering sounds cool but I don’t really know what it is beyond a surface level understanding. Also, I’m not sure I’m THAT good at math… Lol.
I want to switch my Psych degree to a more valuable degree. Something that can make me good money but also fits the lifestyle I’m looking for. Not a desk job, not a lonely job, but also makes decent money. I’m willing to consider paths besides healthcare, in fact I welcome any and all recommendations.

2023.06.08 22:46 able710 Where best to build and grow my pot
Good evening everyone,
I am looking for your wise counsel.
I have £18k that I want to invest and grow as much as I can
Fixed mortgage runs out in 4 years (currently on 1.18%). I aim to grow the £18k so I can chunk off as much of my mortgage as possible.
I have £412k left on the mortgage to pay, and if I can chunk off some in 4 years time, then great. If its more practical to leave and build for 10 years etc, then I am happy to do that.
Where are the best places to put this pot and grow it. I am leaning towards investing in a global tracker fund, but then I am left with the decision on whether I open up a GIA account and take the hit on tax on profits or open a stocks and shares ISA account and take the hit on management fees etc... (excuse my naivety as this has only been my experience of investing in funds and stocks etc to date and likely there are other options out there that I do not know of?). Any suggestions?
I can add currently £300 a month to this pot (comfortably) and plan to increase this over the coming months and years.
If it helps, I am currently pulling in £65k a year. Wife pulls in £50k and mortgage monthly payments are £1500 a month with 26 years left
Thank you in advance

2023.06.08 22:46 tedlutherking 31 [M4F] Maine - Watching (horror) movies, roasting each other, potential long-term relationship?
I'm ideally looking for a serious, long-term romantic relationship.
I know it's not something you wave a wand and make happen, but I ask that anyone who replies to this post be open to that. And as soon as one of us or both of us realize, after getting to know the other person, that's no longer on the table, we be honest with each other and decide where to go next. That could mean friendship, that could mean we part amicably.
I'm in Maine and it'd be nice and surprising to meet someone on Reddit actually from here, but I'm open to USA and Canada as well.
To me a relationship requires open communication, honesty, making the other person know they are valued and appreciated, and establishing/respecting boundaries.
• I love movies and horror movies especially, let's get scared together. Letterboxd is a rabbit hole I jumped into gladly.
• I make a lot of dry corny jokes, dad jokes, awful (so bad they're good, if you ask me) puns. And I love when someone can annoy me on purpose. Being humbled/called out on my nonsense is honestly one of my favorite things.
• Speaking of honesty, I try to be as honest as possible and am a firm believer in communication. So much stress and hassle in life can be avoided with communication.
• I love words and I take Scrabble way too seriously. I'd love to find someone who does as well.
• I'm an atheist so if that's a deal-breaker for you I understand.
• Physically I'm tall, dad-bod physique and I usually have a beard.
• I'm a big fan of voice calls on discord in addition to texting, that's my go-to app if we end up moving off Reddit.
About you:
• Sarcasm. Just general smartassness is a lovely quality.
• Opinionated. We all have opinions, and the more the merrier.
• If you laugh at your own jokes, we're already best friends.
• Politically liberal/progressive because that's what I am.
• Be around my age.
• Something I've figured out recently is I'm not currently looking for someone with kids of their own already.
I don't expect someone to be perfect, because I'm not. But maybe we're perfect for each other.
Feel free to word vomit in a PM if chat isn't your thing. But if chat is your thing, still tell me about yourself, you know?

2023.06.08 22:46 Intelligent-Cover818 Club Level - Prince Waikiki vs Alohilani - 1st timers
Hi there - I know everyone is probably sick of resort posts lol But, I'd love some feedback on this, as the pricing is near equal for both of these, and I've never been and don't have context.
We are currently booked for two partial oceanfront rooms LongBoard Club at Alohilani. I understand it was an older building that was redone, and based on what I've read: -people seem to either love it, or think it was not up to standard. -it's hip, great rooftop poolbar, rooms and elevators leave a lot to be desired -great mostly central waikiki location -service is hit or miss - definitely not super amazing from what I've gathered -club level is pretty good with a breakfast, dinner pasta bar, and a lot of wine/craft beer.
https://www.alohilaniresort.com/hotel/longboard-club/longboard-club-menu/ https://www.alohilaniresort.com/hotel/longboard-club/ We are only here two nights, and have some tours so I'm not too crazy concerned but I'd love some feedback because Prince Waikiki also has Club Level rooms and with a summer promo, it's coming out to about the same price. I know there are a LOT of diehard Prince fans and I can tell from reviews it is very well loved, the staff is beyond amazing and it's a lovely place to stay. I guess what I am asking for is if anyone has experience with their Club Level specifically, and what they thought? Is the location being so far down by the marina burdensome if you're trying to be closer to stuff in Waikiki (shops, food, etc). Has anyone done Alohilani and Prince and can offer some idea of the differentials firsthand?
Because this resort choice kicks off our vacation, to some extent that service element matters. My family has never been to Hawaii and it sounds like the Prince is really amazing to arrive to and stay at! For reference, we are a family of six - 2 adults with three adult children and one 13 year old.
Thank you!

2023.06.08 22:46 InternetSandman Anyone ever taken MATH 480W?
I'm currently doing the MACM major and trying to judge between this or a couple of the other MATH writing courses. Obviously it's gonna be difficult, but I'm looking for any anecdotes on how difficult it is based on experience.
For reference, I have linear algebra, calc 2, and MACM 201 under my belt so far with solid grades (A to A- average between the 3) and currently taking calc 3.
Also, for those that took it, would you say it was worth it for the challenge, or would you recommend going for something else to finish the writing requirements?

2023.06.08 22:46 ZealousidealMess6678 What will happen after the NEL ?
The NEL started 100 days before the start of the U20 world cup, that we already know. Its purpose is to serve as a training camp for the BL players for them to specify and perfect their playstyles through different international leagues' philosophies, to select the final 23 players who will be part of the new Japanese U20 selection, as well as generate money for the JFU while doing it, on top of being scouting grounds for big clubs on the international level.
The format of the NEL makes it so that each team gets 4 matches to play in (round-robin format), with a 10-day period before each match for the sake of preparation, as well as one additional period of 10 days for resting. However, that means that the NEL is supposed to last 50 days in total. Which in turn means that once it ends, there will still be a 50-day period of uncertainty between the announcement of the final 23 players for the Japan U20 selection, and the start of the U20 world cup. My question is, what do you think will happen during that 50-day period ? Obviously some of it is gonna be training for the new U20 selection to familiarize themselves with each other's playstyles, creating new tactics, formations, etc. But is that it ? Or is there gonna be something else ?
My theory is that it's got something to do with Ego and Buratsuta's under the table deal. Ego isn't necessarily the type to show off his abilities as a genius coach, he only did so once with the U20 match because he had no other choice if he wanted the Blue Lock project to survive. I think if Ego could've done the entirety of the Blue Lock project without showing off any of the players that aren't the one that got the N°1 spot in the end, he would've done it. He even went as far as to implement the rule saying that getting eliminated from Blue Lock removes your right to represent Japan on the national level, which means he completely intended for the players that'd get eliminated to never have a chance to make a career out of football in Japan, unless they manage to get scouted by an international club, which would be insanely difficult for a non-pro.
And yet, the NEL is set up in a way that makes sure that as many of the players as possible have a chance to make a career out of football on the international level. Basically, even the players that'll get eliminated at the end might have a chance to get a bid from some club outside of Japan and still make a living out of their passion. It's almost as if Ego is trying to set up as many of the remaining BL players for success as possible, even the ones that don't make it to the final selection. And if you add on top of that Ego's comments during the U20 match about wanting to train independent players that don't need to be guided by their coach constantly (ch118 p9), as well as the comment about the Blue Lock players still having a future even if they lost the match while he will disappear from Japanese football, I think you can see where I'm going.
I think Ego and Buratsuta's deal is that in exchange for the JFU giving the okay and helping the NEL get sponsors, once it's over, Ego will resign from his position as coach of the Japanese U20 selection, and Buratsuta will be free to put whatever Yes Man he wants in the position instead. Since Ego already trained the BL players to become independent, and set them up for success by showing them off to international clubs to give them opportunities to play outside of Japan, he won't regret leaving because his job is already done : he has given birth to a whole new generation of talented, independent and famous Japanese players, and among them will be the future world's N°1 striker.
However, I'm still unsure if something else will happen during the 50 days post NEL. Could be a showmatch to show off the new Japanese U20 team, could be nothing. So if anybody's read this far, what do you think it'll be ?

2023.06.08 22:46 pcprncplfnljstc How does microdosing affect LSD tolerance?
For a quite a few years, I took larger doses of acid every couple of months, which affected my overall mental wellbeing very positively. Life has gotten much busier lately, so I've begun microdosing regularly the past 6ish months. I take approximately 10ug every Sunday and Tuesday currently, due to my work schedule (hands-on position in a medical field, cannot/should not take on work days), but in the next week or so I will have some time to finally trip again. Assuming my tabs are 100ug I plan on taking 5-6, but I'm struggling to find any info on whether or not habitually microdosing is going to diminish any effects. I figure if I take 600ug I'll definitely feel something, but I would be miffed to waste it. Thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 22:46 purpleflask Spring-assisted cranioplasty vs. endoscopic strip surgery
Age 3 weeks old
Sex female
Height 21.5inches
Weight 8lbs
Race white
Duration of complaint: since birth
Location: Texas
Any existing relevant medical issues n/a
Current medications none
Include a photo if relevant n/a
Hi, my 3 week old daughter has been confirmed to have sagittal craniosynostosis. I just went through the options with a craniofacial np today and she suggested the spring assisted cranioplasty. The only other option they do is a CVR (cranial vault remodel) which is for after 9 months old. I asked her about the endoscopic surgery I’ve been reading about online and apparently they don’t do it there because they feel like the risk is too high because it involves the dura (the sac that wraps the brain). But I’ve been reading about so much success with the surgery I want to know why spring-assisted cranioplasty isn’t commonly discussed online, and whether or not endoscopic surgery is better.
Time is of the essence because endoscopic surgery usually is done before baby is 3 months old so if I need to get another clinic or hospital to do the surgery I need to move fast. Hoping to get some more inputs on the comparison between the spring and the endoscopy. I like the idea of a minimally invasive surgery and am more than okay with having a helmet help mold the head shape. But I also want professional opinions and both the pros/cons of both type of surgeries.
Many thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 22:46 poppypbq Did I bring up salary discussions to soon? Would like to hear what yall think and maybe advice on how to handle things in the future.
Recently I applied and interview for a community mental health position. I had an interview that went great and they encouraged me to shadow one of their workers just to see how things were ran. The shadowing experience was great and I really felt like this was the position for me. Two days after the shadowing experience I email the leaders of the team. Letting them know first that I wanted to move forward with the application process and that I really saw myself thriving in the position. Secondly I asked them what the compensation was for the job and that it was "unfortunately" one of factors I had to consider before making any decisions. Now today they let me know they are hiring someone else for the position with more experience. Would love to hear what yall think on how a handle this.
