I am currently listening to Mysterious Traveler by Weather Report and cannot imagine anything apart from conceptualizing the melody, harmony, and rhythm in accordance with the cover art.
I have always struggled with alexithymia even though I am fully capable of thinking in images, being a verbal/logic thinker with a penchant for analytical thinking.
Like when I listen to Bill Evans' You Must Believe In Spring and The Peacocks, I often find myself just googling the symbolism of a peacock before finding myself thinking of sitting outside in cold weather with bare trees and frosty dew(which is quite untypical of South Africa while typical of Johannesburg TBF), never considering it to be anything other than romance.
This actually hindered me in my enjoyment of jazz for I always need to get a detail going before getting to the concept unless the style is close to the types of music I usually enjoy, which is essentially a leaning towards post-bop, fusion, and avant-garde jazz.
How would your processing work in this respect? Anything else you want to share is welcome.

My girlfriends nearly 2 year old (presumably) female white tree from has refused to eat in just over a week, however her sister has never had any eating problems and is always happy to accept food. She rarely leaves her hide (a suspended coconut) unless it’s extremely late such as while she’s sleeping. She’s done this exact same thing the same time last year. Here in the UK it’s only just turned spring and the weather is still fairly wintery so could this be because of the lower temperatures outside? They have plenty of hiding places and leaves to climb, their day temperature is 84°F and at night it’s 72°F on a 12h day night cycle with a ceramic heater and she gives them both calcium dusted crickets once a week, and they’re fed once every 2 days as they’re mature frogs. The frog looks completely normal and we’re at a loss for what to do. She’s tried hand feeding and letting her catch the cricket by herself but she just often just lets them climb up on her face without a care. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

My TSH was first abnormal in 2020, but close enough to the normal range that my former primary just wanted to keep an eye on my bloodwork and this was right before Covid started in my area. The last 3 years I have only had annual bloodwork done and it’s all stayed in a normal range ever since 2020. However I have had increasingly suspicious symptoms and thought it was hypothyroidism until I did more research on Hashimoto’s.
Symptoms: -Dry skin (prior to 3-4 years ago I had oily skin and it’s been significantly worse this year) - muscle & join pain/stiffness -fatigue (I used to drink 2-4 energy drinks a day, now I’m prescribed ADD medication so I only have 1 large coffee a day and still fatigued) -irregular menstrual cycle (only for the past 9-10 months) -weight gain despite health conscious diet -brain fog -severe vitamin D and Iron deficiency -poor temperature regulation..always cold -low resting heart rate -high platelet count
Hypothyroidism runs in my family, and also I work a very physical job. I have a shoulder injury and a hip injury I’m currently managing, as well as the stress of going through a divorce where my ex was extremely abusive and I’m working through PTSD. It’s hard to know what symptoms might overlap…I told my current primary I wanted referrals to see if I might have hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s and I am awaiting an ultrasound of my thyroid later this week and a follow up with my endocrinologist.
I had bloodwork done with my primary on 1/20/23 with a 2.09 TSH and my T4 was 1.1. I had bloodwork done for my endocrinologist on 3/17/23 and my T4 stayed the same but my TSH jumped to 5.27.
I had started a weekly mega dose Vitamin D prescription after my bloodwork from January as well as iron supplements and I’m still exhausted all the time despite high dose ADD medication, caffeine, proper sleep and nutrition. My endocrinologist was skeptical when I first went so I’m anxious he will be dismissive when I follow up, and I took initiative to book a new appointment with another endocrinologist as a second opinion for after my follow up so I can cancel if it’s not needed or get a second opinion if I feel the first endocrinologist is dismissive again. All my internet research showed me that sure my symptoms could absolutely be overlapping with the vitamin D and iron deficiencies but those deficiencies along with the high platelet count results from my hematologist indicate there is a likelihood of an autoimmune condition and Hashimoto’s fits the bill.
Wondering what my fellow redditors think? Any suggestions or tips for my ultrasound and follow up appointments would be greatly appreciated! My endocrinologist rubbed me the wrong way a little so I want to be sure to advocate for myself properly. TIA!

Starting work on framing basement walls. Have an issue at the base of the stairs. Drywall was finished to the bottom of the stairs by the builders. The basement is currently wrapped in blanket type insulation. It protrudes out a maximum of 5 inches from the concrete. Behind the finished drywall at the base of the stairs it appears they used rolls between the studs, and framed the wall about 1 1/8” away from the cement.
Issue is: I can’t see any clear way to frame this wall to connect flush to existing wall at base of the stairs without removing the blanket insulation. Is it possible to remove the blanket insulation from that wall and follow their installation method, then use the existing blanket insulation for the remainder of the basement? Or is there a better solution?

Looking for JUST FRIENDS to play games on Xbox with. I'm mostly into survival, rpg, and co-op games. I currently only have xbox. Not interested in pvp, mmos or battle royale.
The only way you possibly have any kind of chance of more than JUST friends, is if you would be willing to eventually relocate. I don't do casual, I don't do LTR, I don't do sxting, and definitely don't do people who don't know how to be just friends first.
A bit about myself, I'm very open minded and direct, but kinda shy at first. I'm an artist, I love reading, crafts, animals, and tabletop games as well. I'm firmly athiest and generally a Leftitist, LGBTQ+ friendly, disabled/neurodivergent friendly. I tend to be very empathetic and observant, and if you tell me fun facts about yourself I will probably remember them. I have tons of free time throughout the day, but I'm awake weird hours. I understand people have work and lives, but if you can only talk once a week that is less than ideal for me. I don't care about your race or appearance, and will most likely never send you pictures. Currently have a C2, but it’s just a touch too large for my body/frame to comfortable conceal, especially in the Spring/Summer months. I’ve been looking at the following options:

1. Staccato C Duo
2. Staccato CS
3. BUL 3.25 Ultralight

I’m in a mag capacity limited state, so that throws a small wrench into my options at times. I’m leaning towards the CS (local FFL has one with 10-round pinned mags), but I’m not opposed to the C single stack cause I can put the WC 10-round mags into it. The real benefit of the CS is the room to grow pending any law changes. The BUL seems appealing, but I keep reading mixed things (loose optic, no backup irons, etc.). Anyone own both a C and CS that can weigh-in for me? Thanks

I recently switched my main work computer from Mac to Debian and I have external mechanical HDs that currently are formatted in HFS+ with full disk encryption. They don't mount on Debian. The Debian machine will have to co-exist with Macs, the external HDs need to work (read + write) on both platforms and must be encrypted.
Which file system supports full-disk encryption and mounts on Mac and Linux machines? I've read about ext3, ext4, Btrfs, APFS, exFAT, but I'm still not sure which is the most suitable with encryption.
Bonus: Does it make a difference if the external drive is an SSD or USB stick?

Hey everyone this is my first post on here but I'm reaching out for some advice. I'm currently trying to decide between the industrial design program at University of Cincinnati DAAP and the product design major at Drexel University Westphal and was wondering if anyone had any insight one way or the other. I'm a huge fan of the co-op style of learning and was wondering what both co-op programs had to offer. I've heard that DAAP's co-ops are becoming less abundant. Ideally if I went to DAAP I'd like to work/ co-op somewhere other than Cincinnati (it's my hometown) is that realistic? I haven't seen much about Drexel's ID program on here but I know it's held in high regard by ranking websites anyone have any info? I'd also like to know about post grad outcomes for each school, since the field is so difficult to break into. I know this varies depending upon portfolio, however I'm fully committed to putting in the work needed to succeed I'd just want to know that my work would get me a job I'm passionate about. Better said, I'm going to be working my butt off at either school and was wondering which would open the most doors for me.

I thought I'd get your two cents and what have you on the What's Coming Next piece from Relic. This isn't a rant post or anything of the like. I'd wager I'm more of a casual CoH player but like to see both sides of things. I feel maybe several of you had some similar thoughts and questions in your head as to what John delivered:

ON TARGET

1. Update 1.1.
   1. When do they expect this to be complete? John mentioned they will pull back on the every-few-day updates.
   2. Do we expect ladder and rankings at this point? Is it feasible with the current meta (I'd lean towards no)?
   3. Will this update fix a lot of the unpolished social \ profile aspects?
   4. " " " " the tac map which is essentially unusable in team games currently? I'd recommend having a feature to turn off your teammates in the full screen tac map to allow clarity.
2. Challenges, Merit, and Cosmetics.
   1. Not much to say about this besides it being a nice addition. Hopefully there are cosmetics that are earned from gameplay versus buying with IRL cash.

IN DEVELOPMENT

1. New 3 vs 3 map.
   1. These are needed badly. A vast majority of the CoH community plays team games versus 1v1. Arguably, team games are much better right now as 1v1 meta is a mess.
   2. Are there any good community team maps currently that could be pushed into the map pool?
2. Hot Fix, Balance, and Stability Patches.
   1. I think opinions on this would vary based on when 1.1 is supposed to arrive. Do they plan on fixing some balancing in 1.1 as well? Not sure.
3. Multiplayer QoL Improvements: Color for teams / pings.
   1. I feel like this could be fixed very quickly. I feel they should move this to the ON TARGET section.
   2. Rankings here or 1.1?
4. Italian Dynamic Campaign.
   1. I've already played through it. I enjoyed the mission engagements. Other than that, it was monotonous just as any Total War campaign gets. You quit, and play a different faction. You just don't have that here.
5. Camera Zoom Distance.
   1. I genuinely think it's fine, but if they want to pull it out more (nice) then so be it. It will make a lot of players happier, for sure.

SCOUTING

1. New 4 vs 4 map.
   1. Arguably needed alongside the 3v3 map. Again, maybe they need to dig into the Steam Workshop currently. People are scratching like Tyrone Biggums after continuously playing these maps.
2. Improving invite flow to game, and party invitations.
   1. Yeah... this needs to be done probably ASAP. ^^ Move to ON TARGET.
3. Additional accessibility features.
   1. Not sure what this'll be, but I'm sure it's something I'm missing.
4. Expansion 1.

I was a contracted cadet who failed a UA last year in the spring, my former Human Resource assistant told me that only the cadre where informed and that no cadet was informed of my failed UA or for what drug it was. Over the weekend I ran into a cadet who is still currently in the program and they knew everything about my failed UA.
I feel like this is illegal or my rights were violated or something, Any advice?

Hi I need some input on this. I painted part of my bedroom using a primer first(since the original paint was brown). It turned out the primer had a decent amount of VOCs (Zensser bulls eye 123 )
It has 90g/L of voc and then I used Benjamin Moore paint that was 4 years old (40g/L). I only used 1 quart of primer and paint. I also only waited an hour for the primer to dry which might not have been enough time. I didn’t realize these paints contain toxins until after application. So I let the room air out for 4 days. However it is currently early spring and the temperature fluctuates between 30-55F. (~50% humidity) I return to my bedroom after 4 days and I can still smell it if I put my nose against the wall.
Is this a health concern? I feel a little lightheaded and slight sore throat in the room but I’m not sure if I’m just being paranoid. I suppose I don't care about short term side-effects as long as there aren't any long term ones

Hey everyone, hoping I can get some advice on my new-to-me Sequoia. I know the air suspension is a problem child, and I should just replace it with coils, but I use it mainly for towing, and appreciate the auto leveling feature.
So my sequoia will fill up the air springs, and they (seemingly) hold air just fine. It’s only after I’ve turn the car off that it will occasionally release all the pressure in the system. It can take anywhere from a couple minutes to a couple hours after turning the vehicle off. I’m guessing it’s either the solenoid or the compressor, just hoping someone else has had a similar problem and can share there experience.
I’m addition, shock are shot. Open to suggestions on what to replace them with. Did they improve the OEM ones over the years, and the electronic shocks are worth buying now? If not which brand should I buy for best ride comfort? I’m looking at Dobinsons currently, but not sure I want to spend that much money replacing front and rear.

I've never had to deal with something as serious as this in my whole life and currently both me and M ( my partner) are freaking out. I come from a south Asian background while M is polish. We are also co workers at work so this doesn't help the situation. We've been best friends for a while and last year we started hooking up together. Last Saturday as usual we were hooking up until the condom fell off and since we were really passionate at the time, none of us noticed until the deed was done. To make matters worse she is very near to her ovulation (if it already hasn't happened yet). She took a pill today since Sunday every pharmacy was closed. She showed many signs of ovulation today and we both are freaking out right now. I know her family will understand but I'm fearing how to break the news to my family is everything goes downhill. It's still too early to tell if she's pregnant or not but the chances of us becoming parents are kinda high. We both haven't graduated university and both do minimum wage jobs in London where inflation is rising rapidly. We don't even know how to provide for a baby and it feels like our future is about to crumble. It doesn't help that I come from a very strict religious background. I'd like some suggestions regarding how to help or get through this situation without crumbling down. I don't intend to abandon her or the baby if it comes to that.
