Just as the title says I'm working here in Texas to try and start a long term process to make our home eventually much more habitable and ecologically friendly. This long process started when I just wanted a sense of community which was sorely lacking where I am. Now it's gotten to the point I find out the massively broken and gross state my entire complex is in. I'm not like most who just want out however, I'm solid and I'm gonna do what I can. I've been going around asking for help on the private fb group I made and now we are gonna set up block parties where they cant touch us to get more people out and talking. I have been given notice that some of my attempts to organize have gotten u der the skin of the owner and this the property manager as well. I know I'm gonna be watched but it's okay, I know the line they set and for now that will be respected. I'm not scared, just pissed off. The eventual plan is to figure out how to save up some money with the community to eventually buy the property. That's the ideal plan and if we can get past this major hurdle, we can be well on our way to addressing the major sanitation problems, improve the shared greenery and removes major parts of unnecessary asphalt to grow more native plants. We can have a habitable space that we all got a say on and is heard. We can fix the problems with waiting. I got a good feeling about this and just needed a space to talk about it so thank you.

I was late to GoT. I began watching in 2018 and watched season 8 live. I’ve been rewatching it again.
Season 6 and the seasons before set up the greatest stories in television. Seeing the alliances begin to form on Cerseis side and Danys side was so cool. Hearing Dany and her advisors strategize how they are going to take kings landing and the iron throne, then defeat the White Walkers had me more excited for TV than I’d ever been. As everyone knows, the reality of season 8 was some of the worst TV and story writing ever among big budget productions
I looked past it because I was so excited for HotD and I have no doubts it will be amazing. However, GoT was so bad that however cool any spin-offs will be, naturally they do not have the potential that GoT had with the war on two fronts and between the living and the dead.
I could be wrong (and I hope that I am) but with the white walkers being destroyed with the night king gone, I doubt that any series will be as cool as GoT could have been.

Could anyone please help me learn how to set up my Nehza to be a "nuker" frame? I've asked several people in the past but they were...not kind people. I would love help with this one so that I can then practice on all my others. I'm finally close to unlocking the Steel Path but I don't have high enough damage output at all. Thanks in advance!

1. Never use the word “Mormon” in describing anything Mormon. Doing so is a win for Satan.
   
2. Drink no coffee, tea or alcohol.
   
3. Eat meat sparingly. (Actually, scratch that. It’s in the Word of Wisdom, but no one pays attention to it anyway, so bring on the burgers. You’re going to need to keep your strength up for keeping all the other rules.)
   
4. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits in their season. And, yes, funeral potatoes totally count as a vegetable.
   
5. Go to church every Sunday, even when you’re on vacation. God gives you extra credit for this.
   
6. Accept any callings offered by the bishop. (But see also No. 40.)
   
7. Attend the temple once a month at the very least. Always keep a valid temple recommend.
   
8. Do your monthly visiting teaching/home teaching. Er, ministering.
   
9. Send out a homemade holiday gift and card/letter to neighbors.
   
10. Never use a curse word. If you need a library of faux swear options, watch “Napoleon Dynamite” multiple times and absorb its vocabulary.
    
11. Do family history work (genealogy) for your ancestors.
    
12. Show up for moving other people in and out of your ward. Lift with your legs! And keep plenty of ibuprofen on hand.

17. Hold a weekly Family Home Evening with your children. No crying allowed, from either parents or children!
    
18. Teach your children to do chores happily. (Good luck with this.)
    
19. Be grateful, even for your trials. Trials are really blessings in disguise. Also, they make great fodder for tearful testimonies in the future.
    
20. Keep a year’s supply of food in your basement, even if you never eat any of it. The family with the most wheat wins.
    
21. Do regular disaster planning with your kids, from fire drills to flood plans. You can never be too prepared for the end of days.

23. Learn how to build a fire without a match.

3. Do not nurse at church except in the mother’s lounge in the women’s bathroom, which will also be where children’s dirty diapers are changed and disposed of. But modesty!
   
4. Attend monthly Relief Society meetings.
   
5. Decorate your house with Relief Society kitsch.
   
6. No porn shoulders.
   
7. Don’t slam your purse or talk in a shrill tone.
   
8. Be able to sew pioneer bonnets, dresses, aprons, etc., in bulk at a day’s notice.
   
9. Don’t chew gum in church (according to my mother — it’s not ladylike).
   
10. You can have up to one ear piercing per God’s instructions. Getting double-pierced ears is beyond the pale, so don’t push it.
    

Men 69. Sacrament must be administered and passed by young men in white shirts, only using their right hands. The patterns may vary from ward to ward, but are secret and only for men to know.

1. Do not shed tears in any scenario ever, except during testimony meeting, when it is 100% acceptable for you to cry.
   
2. Don’t abuse your children or your wife — except with dad jokes, which you may pile on freely.
   
3. Do play church ball hard enough to get injured or injure someone else. Unless someone winds up in the hospital, the Spirit hasn’t spoken strongly enough.
   
4. Facial hair was fine for Jesus but not for you. The clean-cut look is definitely the Mormon, er, Latter-day Saint look. Oh, and man buns are flat out.
   

So I'm having a hell of a time confirming between 3V and 3F. I'm almost positive it's 3F, but I want to make sure I'm not just choosing that over 3V because 3V sounds so damn miserable.
Points for 3V:
-Planning my future/setting goals is not a strong point. I decided in August that I'd be going back to school for a job in the medical field (MUCH more money than I'm making now in retail, and only a two year certification/degree/whatever). Thinking about actually getting into the program gives me pretty intense anxiety, since I'm pretty sure it's not something I'll actually be at all passionate about, and it's a very competitive program. The money is definitely the driving motivation. I have a backup plan to start studying coding in my spare time, though I haven't brought myself to actually DO it yet
-I don't really set goals, specifically. I worked with a guy who set actual New Year's resolutions and worked towards them, and it just seemed so odd? Like, have general goals (like mine was to better my mental health, get involved in hobbies that interest me), but what you want and your circumstances are going to change, so just let what happens happen?

• When people are talking about their futures and achievements, I feel very insecure, like I'm behind everyone or that they'll know I don't measure up

-I do get insecure and worried about how people perceive my work ethic, then end up overdoing it and stressing that me not being perfect will lead to me being branded as "lazy" and get fired. I've gotten bonuses in each job I've had essentially for having good work ethic, but it's still always a worry
Points for 3F:
-Cluttered areas STRESS ME OUT. At work if things are not exactly where they should be, I get overwhelmed and can't concentrate until I put things right.
-The neuroses and miserable insecurity around having a body (leading into the next point). I had a lot of things like allergies, asthma, eczema, etc growing up, as well as weight issues, all of which contributed to me being wildly uncomfortable with myself and my body. It sometimes even goes so far as to feel physically trapped, like I'm stuck in this oozing body with no way out (felt like that all the time when the eczema was flaring horribly).
-I do a lot of body modifications (tattoos, piercings, stretched ears, then temporary things like eyelash lifts and hair dyeing) because they help me feel better about having a body since I get some control over it, and I get to have things I like on it
-Cleaning and cooking are garbage. I'll do the barest minimum I can, and barely that. It's wild to me to listen to people who spend hours every day doing either, and schedules for cleaning? That they follow?!
-I do feel like a child in regards to anything practical
Overall, I'm pretty sure I'm 3F 4V since in general, I don't really mind being a "follower" (as not flattering as that is to say), I'm okay accepting being wrong (too readily a lot tbh), and I don't aspire to leadership (not the only reasons, but I feel like they're pretty significant). I've watched some videos and 3F really resonated, but I do recognize that this system is hard for me to grasp.

Not really about the plot itself, but I've taken it upon myself to make a list of every single reference to Homer's Odyssey in the mission, some of which might just be me reaching:
The most explicit references are in the subtitle '5's Odyssey' and in the transmission title 'practically an odyssey', which Janine says aloud.
The title, 'Athena' - on Odysseus' journey home, Athena was the goddess that helped him e.g. she calmed the winds, made him appear taller and stronger, etc
The runner's 'big feast tonight' is reminiscent of the Suitors, who stayed in Odysseus' palace and feasted whilst he was away.
Runner 5 has 'incurred the wrath of an immortal' - just like Odysseus incurred the wrath of Poseidon.
The calypso music that plays both references the sirens Odysseus passes and Calypso, the nymph that keeps him captive on her island for 7 years.
Maxine points out 'it looks like there's fire burning' - in the Odyssey, approaching a 'wisp of smoke' repeatedly means bad news.
The zombie that's 7 foot tall and wears an eyepatch is comparable to the cyclops, Polyphemus. He's killed by a log spear through the eye, like how Odysseus blinds Polyphemus with a hot stake through the eye to escape.
Mr Antiphates shares his name with the king of Laestrygones, a tribe of cannibals Odysseus encounters.
The golden cow statue is probably a reference to the cattle of the sun god Hyperion - Odysseus' crew killed and ate them, which was what doomed them to die.
The pig Runner 5 comes across is an allusion to Circe, the witch who transformed men into pigs.
O Brother Where Art Thou and Ulysses 31 are both retellings of the Odyssey.
When 5 arrives back to Abel, Simon doesn't initially recognise them - Odysseus came back to Ithaca disguised as a beggar, so he isn't initally recognised either.
Sam comments that some days feel like they last 10 years - the time it took Odysseus to get home once the Trojan War ended.
The archery contest is a reference to how Odysseus proved his identity when he returned - by stringing his old bow (which nobody else was able to) and shooting an arrow through a row of axe handles.
I may have missed some but it just goes to show how the writers really did their research with the mission!

We recently started working on getting an iOS app to work on Macs with Apple Silicon as a "Designed for iPhone" app and are having issues with speech synthesis.
Specifically, voices retuned by AVSpeechSynthesisVoice.speechVoices() do not all work on the Mac. When we build an utterance and attempt to speak, the synthesizer falls back on a default voice and says some very odd text about voice parameters (that is not in the utterance speech text) before it does say the intended speech.
Here is some sample code to setup the utterance and speak:

When we run AVSpeechSynthesisVoice.speechVoices(), the "com.apple.eloquence.en-US.Rocko" is absolutely in the list but fails to speak properly.
Notice that the line:

Shows:

The .audioFileSettings being empty seems to be a common factor for the voices that do not work properly on the Mac.
For voices that do work, we see this kind of output and values in the .audioFileSettings:

So we added a function to check the .audioFileSettings for each voice returned by AVSpeechSynthesisVoice.speechVoices():

That looks simple enough, and does work to identify which voices have no data in their .audioFileSettings. But we have to run it asynchronously because on a real iPhone device, it takes more than 9 seconds and produces a tremendous amount of error spew to the console.

Hi all,
My cat (11yo female, 11lbs) seems to have a regurgitation problem but only under a specific set of conditions - if she hasn’t eaten all night and then eats her breakfast, she’ll regurgitate it almost immediately. If she has free access to dry food all the time, she doesn’t regurgitate any meals.
For example, last night she got wet food at 8pm and then wasn’t fed until 7am. As soon as she ate her 7am (wet food) meal, she regurgitated it (within 5 minutes). Her dry food bowl was empty all night as I’m trying to reduce her ability to free feed.
Is it because of how spaced out her food is at night? This has been happening for a couple of months now, but it is only when she does not have free access to dry food at night (I have been giving her free access some nights and the regurgitation is immediately resolved until the free feeding goes away).
Has anyone else experienced this with their cats? She’s on prescribed sensitive digestion food and has been for years.

I haven't changed anything in my settings and want to know how to get rid of this

Hi, after a long consideration I finally decided to get a Buttkicker, on the recommendation of many in here.
I am however struggling to set it up properly, I have had it working sort of, with the HaptiConnect software using the new DCS mode, which worked ok. But reading that the SimShaker Aviator and SimShaker Sound Module surpasses the native software, I decided to buy a license for that. And now I'm not sure how to go about setting it up properly, I sometimes lack some sound elements (only voice/no voice) and sometimes lack the rumbling.
In my setup I use the HP Reverb G2 VR HMD and as mentioned I have the Buttkicker Gamer Pro with amplifier. I only have an onboard soundcard at the moment.
According to this post an external soundcard is not required, and the poster recommends using both the HaptiConnect and Simshaker software.
My current configuration which doesn't really work
- The Buttkicker is connected via USB and I also have the Y cable go into my sound output on my machine (though the MB port in the back didn't work, so plugged it in on top) - In the SimShaker software setting, I have the output mode to SOUND and to automatically start the Sound Module. I see the DCS modules I've tried to fly with, having this open. - In Sound Module I have selected my onboard soundcard as Dedicated Sound Card. Rest is default - In HaptiConnect ButtKicker Input is connected, the outputs are the Buttkicker and my G2 headphones - My Windows sound selection in my onboard sound card - I leave all apps running when starting DCS - In DCS I've tried selecting both the G2 as audio and the onboard as audio
Really confused what to select for all of these options, I hope someone can give me or point me to good step by step tutorial.
