I have decided to write about this because I have all but given up on my mental health journey. I currently work at Sterling Auto Group in Bryan, Texas; and I have been facing some issues there concerning my mental health. Per the American Disability Act my mental health falls under the disability category as it "substantially limits one or more major daily activities." Due to the severity of my depression, I oversleep quite often despite setting numerous alarms and going to bed super early. I generally go to bed around 9p-10p to get up at 7a. For a normal individual this would be more than enough sleep, but for me it is a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. I have asked my employer multiple times to change my schedule to prevent anymore lateness from happening. Unfortunately, they decided to write me up instead before they changed my scheduled time to come in. I realize it is ultimately my responsibility to show up to work on time, but I don't understand how asking to have an hour added onto both ends of my schedule is not doable. For context I asked to have my hours moved from 7:30-5 to 8:30-6. Also, if I am not mistaken my employer is legally obligated to meet my requests as long as it is a "reasonable accommodation." After expressing my concerns to HR, I got called to a meeting with the General Manager to "resolve" the issues. During the meeting he sided with my direct supervisor in writing me up as it is "company policy" and said that my depression is just a feeling and doesn't matter at work. He also said that the other issue is that I need to be positive all the time regardless of how I "feel." I don't understand why it is so hard for employers to understand that depression is not just a feeling. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder as a reoccurring episode (dr. said that means it is a chronic condition) and I have been doing my best to grow as a person and get to a place where it does not have as much of an impact on my daily life. The other bit that is incredibly frustrating and makes it so incredibly difficult to continue pushing forward in my life is the stereotypical and rude comments they have made to me. I am told to "choose happiness and positivity," "leave my problems at home," "just be positive," and "choose to not be depressed." Believe me if it were that easy, I would be the happiest person on the planet right now. Also, the GM said that I felt like these things were said when in reality they were said straight to my face. The other issue I presented to the GM was their unfair treatment of employees and how I feel I am being targeted. They denied both accusations and claim they treat everyone fairly. However, they have employees who were allowed to return to work after receiving DWI's and missing work because they were in jail. Apparently, it is fair for them to get to come back to work but write me up for being late. There are also coworkers that still have jobs that call in, no call no show, or are consistently late. The company policy is to receive two written warnings and then you get terminated. There is no way that those coworkers have not received enough warnings to warrant termination if they are treating all of their employees fairly. Anyways, I start a new job tomorrow and the manager's wife has depression so hopefully they will be more understanding of my condition. I also hope that I can return to the forward momentum that I have fallen from dealing with the toxicity at work currently. If anyone has any advice or possible solutions to being able to not oversleep from depression, please share your ideas with me. Also, I have two questions for ya'll. First, am I letting my depression get to my head or does this show red flags that this company is toxic? Secondly, do you think anything would come of me filing a discrimination charge against the company through the EEOC or should I just move on with my life? I want so bad to file a charge against them because I know other people that struggle with mental health and get treated like garbage in the workplace. However, at the same time I want to run far away from this employer and get myself back to a healthy place mentally. I have been receiving both therapeutical and medicinal treatments as well as doing a lot of self-care such as eating healthy, working out, spending more time with friends, etc. This situation makes me want to crawl back into the hole I have worked so hard to crawl out of and never come back out.

Alright, so I definitely messed up. I'm a food prep guy. I do overnight oats and boiled eggs for breakfast and rice/chicken/vegetable food preps for lunch. My plan was to just pack a cooler with these foods for each day plus a bunch of other non-perishables and whatnot. Trying to save on buying food.
The issue is, I'm arriving Sunday for pre-show volunteering. So I'll be on the farm for 8 days. It totally didn't occur to me that while it's easy to keep food pretty chilled for a few days, but 8 days is a hell of a long time to keep all my meat and eggs and whatnot under 40 degrees.
I also don't have a super high-grade cooler like a Yheti. So I can pack everything on top of ice, possibly sandwhich it between layers of ice. Pre-chill the cooler. Keep it in my trunk the whole time. Try to insulate the cooler with blankets and whatnot. Possibly digging a hole and putting the cooler in the hole? Limit access to the cooler. Replace the ice each day. I can get dry ice but by what it's saying it will dissipate within a day or two.
Even after all of this I'd be worried that by day 3 or 4 I'd really be playing Russian Roulette with food poisoning. And I know for sure I absolutely do not want to get food poisoning on the farm.
Alright, so what's the protocol here from my more seasoned campers and whatnot? I'm thinking my best move is to basically do all the tips outlined above, but only pack food for 4 days tops. Keep a thermometer on hand to make sure I'm staying in a good range. Change out the ice every day.

I have been working for around 4 years as a programmer(web dev)(. (90% of it has been React) , I had an initial runup to boost my salary asap with job hoping. I had 4 jobs in 3 years, and my current job i've been on it for a little more than 1 year. Initially I had all the motivation in the world to switch jobs, do interviews, etc...
But right now, every day im just thinking about quitting and doing some gardening or whatever at this point. I could live of my saving for around 3 years, but at the same time im scared of quitting, but to be honest, I dont care about money at this point, even if I got my salary doubled I have no desire to work right now.
My current job started fantastically, we are a small team (2 devs, 1 project manager), I really like my colleages, they are smart and have never given me any shit, fantastic people. But everything is becoming so repetitive, every day im coding some hypercomplex tables and dealing with shitty infra/docker issues, thats it, i average around of 6h of non stop coding a day afaik + meetings (it has been going down drastically lately , since i have no motivation), but despite that, my colleage always ends up saving the sprints at the last moment or whatever, that dude is smart as hell.Im sick of dealing with docker issues that i have all the time, with having to know how the company works in order to fulfill the needs of the clients, i keep forgetting all the shit they tell me. And specially im sick of not having time to do anything besides creating tables, and more tables to view data. I have 0 motivation and time to continue working on my projects after job, and I have a ton of projects on mind... but when to do them? if i code 6h a day nonstop (the other 2 are me being burnt out or attending meetings), i dont want to see any more code after that, and i just want to be with my friends during the weekend.
Long gone are the days when i was autistically programming in my room every single weekend.Am i being selfish? I just want to say fuck it to everything, take 1 month off doing absolutely nothing, and spend half a year creating something big, then look for a new job. But im kind of scared of missing the train (specially with the economic disaster that seems to be brewing), and not finding a job again.
I do have 1to1 meetings, but I feel kind of scared to say all this, but regardeless im giving some signs that stuff is getting really repetitive and i need something new, not that something has changed.
Has anyone experiences something similar? How did you get out of this hole? Because honestly it feels like my fault sometimes, and that I should spend more of my free time to learn and not companies time, but fuck it, i dont want to be in front of a computer 24/7 as I used to be.And this thought of quitting are becoming more and more frequent

Hello everyone.
Two months ago, I was arrested for a DUI (BAC 0.21) in Indiana. It was my first run-in with the law. I had no priors, not even a speeding ticket. It was a reckless, careless decision that put myself and others in danger. I'm extremely embarrassed and ashamed of myself. Thankfully, there was no accident, and nobody was hurt. I know it could have been so much worse, and I am eternally grateful that it wasn't. I consented to a breath test and spent 12 hours in the drunk tank, easily the worst 12 hours of my life.
The first few days afterward were the hardest. It's easy to go down the rabbit hole of reading about the maximum penalties you can receive, whether you'll lose your job, travel restrictions, etc. It was only made worse when I found my mugshot online. Word of advice to anybody who recently got their first DUI—the court is not interested in ruining your life. They have bigger fish to fry than you. Don't scare yourself sick imagining all the worst-case scenarios, because you almost certainly won't be facing the maximum penalties for a first-time offense.
I was quick to receive an alcohol assessment and hire an experienced DUI attorney. My attorney managed to get me a plea deal pretty quickly, which consisted of the following:

• One year of probation
• A bunch of fines
• An alcohol assessment (already taken care of)
• 60-day license suspension retroactive to early May

That's it—no community service, IID, or jail time. I think this is a pretty good deal. It feels like a slap on the wrist, albeit a very firm slap. My plea hearing is later this month. My lawyer says there's almost no chance of the judge rejecting the deal, so I have an expensive and sobering year to look forward to. Thankfully my work is remote and only requires out-of-state travel two or three times a year. My lawyer said I shouldn't experience any difficulties traveling for work while on probation, so that was a relief. Not looking forward to getting SR-22, but when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.
I don't consider myself an alcoholic, and neither did the clinic that performed my assessment. I am, however, a heavy drinker. I've found that I tend to drink more out of boredom than anything. So, I've set some goals to keep myself busy during this year-long period. Most of them are simple and easily obtainable for most people, but for me, it's just about occupying my time.

• Lose 50 pounds and start working out
• Get three certifications for work
• Learn to prepare healthy meals
• Reach 1400 rating on chess.com
• Read 20 books
• Develop a working Spanish proficiency
• Start taking weekly drum lessons again
• Learn to draw (for my D&D campaign)
• Pick up coding again and finish three noteworthy projects I can add to my portfolio

This list might expand as I go along. It will be a tough year, but establishing goals will make it easier for me. I'm still stewing over how my DUI will affect my social life and career, but I plan on taking it one day at a time.

Almost exactly 2 months ago, I had sex with someone for the very first time. We were both seniors in college and just graduated.
I have always been cautious against having sex, because I have a fear of getting someone pregnant but for some reason I decided “whatever”
I had on a condom, but it belonged to her. What are the odds that she poked holes in it?? Or what if it accidentally ripped?
I wouldn’t know and I feel weird asking her if she missed her period or anything, because it was just a one night stand.
I did pull out though, even with the condom on, but at the same time, what if I pre ejaculated into the condom if it was ripped?? Would she have told me by now if she was pregnant? When do people realize that they’re pregnant?

I'm oily, acne prone skin-type 20F. I recently found out about 'gel' moisturizers and have really been loving them for my oily skin. I've tried the ELF hydro-gel moisturizer and the Byoma moisturizing gel cream- both for which I'm big fans of the texture and the way they feel. (also unrelated, but I love the vacuum pump they both come in and seriously wish they were used more in skincare packaging!)
My issues with them, however, is that they both come in pretty small containers, around 1.7 fl. oz each. I have a pretty big face, and I go through one bottle a month right now. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for other gel moisturizers that come in bigger packaging so I feel a little less guilty throwing out and buying a new package every couple weeks?
The extra ingredients don't really matter me (HA, niacinamide, etc), I don't rely on moisturizers for those anyway. I took a look around a Shoppers (canadian drug store) and couldn't see any other gel moisturizers of a similar type. Thanks in advance!

I'm ideally looking for a serious, long-term romantic relationship.
I know it's not something you wave a wand and make happen, but I ask that anyone who replies to this post be open to that. This is my experience and opinion on the matter of spiritual warfare. I see so many posts by so many young Christians who are suffering under the unfair criticism and condemnation of those who lack understanding and/or are cruel at heart. It tears at my soul when I read of their intense suffering, and thereby I am moved to share what I know about standing in the evil day and withstanding all to remain a bulwark planted in the grace and strength of Christ our Lord. Know that my words may not necessarily agree with your experience, and you will most definitely want to adapt that which I give you to a means that is most in line with your own needs as a person. I would not infringe upon your uniqueness, but I am sick of seeing God's people pushed around when they should be advancing mightily in the power of God Almighty. Our appointed time has come. The Holy Spirit is being poured out upon us. The Saints of the latter day, the day of Christ's appearing, are bold and mighty to behold. We are not the martyrs of the past. Jesus instructed us to own a sword. Shall we not use it then, when threatened? I say this: the sword which proceeds from thy mouth is sharper than a two-edged blade, and it divides to the very marrow of Spirit and soul. Bear in mind, my view of this whole topic of spirituality is that it has little to do with the outward trappings of religion and faith, but those things are useful for context--science and math is also just as essential in fully grasping the matter. I use Biblical analogy because it is the language of this subreddit. Let us begin.
So many use the scriptures to heap condemnation, when the path is rooted in love and thanksgiving. So many take Sola Scriptura to mean that God no longer speaks. The total narrative of Biblical scripture is complete in 66 books, and from Genesis to Revelation we do see God's plan revealed, but shall God stop ruling the Universe? Shall He stop speaking His will through the angels? Christ said this: I always see my Father working. How then shall we stop working? Have we not seen Christ? Have we not felt the power of the Spirit? Shall we not allow the Spirit to speak through us in our hour of need? Let us let God defend us, and let the Word which is fire and water proceed from our mouths.
Therefore, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against these schemes and lies of Satan, who seeks to condemn you and steal your peace and joy.
