Furthermore, this bill is also tremendously classist and racist in origin, if anything this puts more marginalized people (your constituents) in further danger, here's why;
Police officers do have a legal obligation to respond to certain calls for assistance, such as emergency situations or calls where there is an imminent threat to public safety. This is due to both qualified immunity and the public duty doctrine.
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community have historically faced discrimination and mistreatment by law enforcement officers. This has led to a lack of trust between law enforcement and the LGBTQIA+ community, furthermore racism and discrimination not only harms individuals, but it also erodes trust between law enforcement and the communities they are meant to serve and protect.
Gun control laws like SB 5078 in the United States have been used to disenfranchise and discriminate against certain racial and ethnic groups. For example, some of the earliest gun control laws in the US were passed in the South during the Reconstruction era, specifically to disarm Black Americans and prevent them from defending themselves against racist violence. Similarly, there is evidence to suggest that some gun control laws in the 20th century were motivated by racial bias and a desire to limit the ability of minority groups to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

Okay, y'all, this is not meant to be an accusation or callout or anything (I seriously love Em and Christine so much), but any time someone claims a tangential relationship to a crime my interest gets piqued and I go into sleuth mode. I love sleuthing and honestly went into it trying to figure out what she taught, since there was no mention of her being a teacher after a quick Google search. But, it sometimes rubs me the wrong way when people use crime connections as a sort of morbid clout-chasing opportunity. To be clear, I don't think Em was doing that here, but I think there's a tendency toward it in general and it does a disservice to the people actually connected to and affected by the crime, and I think as hosts of a podcast like this it's important to be careful about how you discuss things.
I'm just... not convinced Janet actually worked at Em's school, at least in the capacity indicated. Em mentioned they were in 2nd grade while they were there, which I estimated to be between 1999-2001 roughly, and I was able to find out that Raven was an assistant soccer coach there for the varsity boys team in 2001, but I also found an announcement from Dec 2001 that he was starting a new job with an IT company after working for HP sales (VA territory) previously. If that's the case, being a soccer coach was a part-time, after-school thing, and Em's comments about him looking for her during lunch breaks don't track. Janet didn't even finish her undergrad degree (in social sciences) until December of 2000, so I also don't think being a Spanish teacher as Em first stated makes sense either. Also to note, by her death in 2005, she was working as a bookkeeper, which is also not necessarily a social science field so education doesn't always mean real work experience! Em backtracked a few times from calling her a teacher to then being a substitute and then to being maybe an after-school aide, and I guess an after-school aide would make the most sense, but I just feel like speculation like that is distracting at best.
I get that it was a long time ago, but it can be very dangerous to pepper in hearsay and anecdotal evidence into cases like this without any concrete info. Em said that her friends would talk about teachers hiding her and finding bruises etc. on her, but I can't find anything anywhere that indicates he was suspected previously of DV or bruising her. Christine never mentioned that in her reporting either. I understand that some details don't get logged, but I would have expected that if coworkers were noticing bruises, her family must have too, and someone would have said something during all this about his abusive history. I'm wondering if there were some mixed stories going on with him working there after school and then maybe some other stuff going on with other people that got lost in the story in the past 20 years. I'm not trying to say her childhood friends and their mom were wrong, but I am just curious about how the timeline and facts make sense with what was stated. I just think we all need to be careful about sharing stories and details about crimes we're vaguely connected to and making sure we speak with precision so as not to spread misinformation. Nothing negative was said about Janet in any capacity, and that isn't the concern, it can just turn into a giant game of telephone which helps no one. Over the years before I think to put a post out on indeed for hiring, I’ve often found myself resorting back to VA’s that fractionally cost less than stateside hires. Not to mention, their productivity levels seem to be a 2-3x than those stateside. For me I’ve got my project managers, administrative, client support and sales not completely offshored in the Philippines. The sales folks don’t require a commission either which I have found to be so helpful. Has anyone else found that VA’s have been transformative for their businesses?

Which ones would you choose? I do around 50miles a day (35-40 on motorway). In terms of reliability, ride and handling, fuel consumption, etc. Which ones would you choose?
I was also thinking of the 330D, but insurance is around 1.5K while the volvos is around 1K and the 320D is around 1.2K.
I test drove the 330D and I really liked it. But insurance is high. Is there a big difference between the 320D or 330D.

Hello fellow veterans just looking for insight. I am currently at 40% I am looking to increase my rating. Currently I have the following 20% for back issues and 30% for anxiety. I have a few rated at 0% such as IBS, migraines, sinus rhinitis. I just did a re-exam on my rated issues and there was no change I am still at 40%. I attend acupuncture, massage, chiro for my back and as I get older my back is worsening. I recently did a ct scan and I have arthritis forming in my neck. When my neck hurts my migraines happen. I feel like my va rep isn’t helping much help he just keeps refiling. I have a CT scan this week for my allergic rhinitis which I am sure will show a deviated septum, which happened during combatives. I have also been hospitalized several times for ibs flareups. My question is has anyone found benefit in paying for a nexus letters ? Is there a trusted provider anyone has used ? I find lots of websites but I am concerned it’s a scam and the nexus letters seem to run over 1,000. Should I save my money and provide a letter written by me? I will take any recommendations or pointers Appreciate the help!

This comment which looks like it was taken from This wiki, makes it sound like if the VA adds this to your claim, it is highly likely to get TDIU. Is there some truth to this?
I am rated 90% and need 40% to get 100%. Checked that with an online calculator and using the VA tables. I think I have the ability to get that with some of the other claims that didn't get filed and some of the secondary claims possible with my new claims.
If I do file the TDIU form, will that change anything regarding filing more / secondary claims? A couple of the new claims I just got added opened a couple doors to possibly.
Part of my thought is, if the VA is thinking I may fall under IU (which I agree with but have been self employed so it might be interesting to prove), the 100% would be backdated to the filing of the Intent to File. Correct? Then if I was able to get scheduler 100% with the added secondary claims, the TDIU would just fall off and I would be 100%
Any thoughts on this? Anything Im missing or anyone want to share their experience? I do know that there is an income limit while falling under TDIU and that isnt an issue. I dont currently have any other income. Im in the process of trying to legally close out my business since I have problems managing it but am behind on paperwork and filing taxes (whole different cluster of a problem).

I have an AOC CQ27G2 as my primary monitor. I bought it because the sentiment online at the time was that VA panels were better for content consumption because of their higher contrast ratio compared to IPS. It was also my first 1440p and 144hz monitor. I wasn't aware of how bad the black smearing was until it was too late to return.
I have a LG 32UL500-W 4K monitor as a second and an old non-important 1060p 60hz IPS as a third monitor.
My budget is about $400 CAD. My use is primarily gaming at a high refresh rate, then video/photo editing. Everything else would be anything you'd use a monitor for that's not important like productivity tasks and browsing the web/watching Youtube.

 | I have started a position at my dealerships bodyshop as their parts person, and have slowly been transitioning into the space, learning how to order different parts (formerly from Chevy so I'm already trained on GM) but the biggest change has been how the parts area is organized. submitted by winterstargamer to partscounter [link] [comments] My first day back here, everything was so cluttered to the point you couldn't walk through. It took me a full week to get everything somewhat organized and cleaned, and about another week to get the large shelves from another dealership and the whiteboards. After about two months of be being here, this is the organization I have come up with in my section of the shop. Not pictured is a storage pod that is in the back of the shop, but I have very large orders in there/any orders that have severely backordered parts. Every part is labled with a piece of tape with the RO# and all the parts are together unless it has very large pieces, in which I would normally put those in the pod as well. The whiteboards have helped not only myself but the techs as well, for when I'm busy they can just look there to find their ROs instead of digging around in piles of boxes. The big whiteboard is next to my desk, and there I have all the ROs that are in the pod listed and any ROs that are currently being worked on in the shop, so if I get a part in that's getting worked on I know 1) who is working on the vehicle so I can deliver the part directly to them and 2) who the service advisor is so they get a copy of the invoice. My question is, what can I do to improve the space if I can? It's just myself for parts and once I get things a bit more settled/fully trained in ordering everything I'm going to start learning how to do estimates etc. I am very limited on how much space I have, and have tried to use as many shelves as I could get my hands on to create more storage going up. I feel like I have a good space now, and the delivery drivers that I deal with on a daily basis have all complimented how I've organized everything. But with that being said, I am young and fairly new to parts as whole so I'm wanting to get the opinion of those who have worked in this area for longer, do you think this will work in the long run? What improvements could/should I make? Also, because I only really have experience with GM parts, what should I look out for with anything involving Mopar, Toyota, BMW etc? |

Les pongo el contexto (trataré de resumirlo) : Va en mi salón de la facultad. Cabe aclarar que los dos tenemos 20, no hemos tenido una relación estable (solo ligues). Hace 1 mes pedimos exclusividad del uno al otro, todo bien la verdad, pero hace como unos dias ella empezó a mostrarse un poco mas cerrada peroo antes de eso tuvimos un problema.
Resulta que hay una chica que llamaremos Andrea, ella dijo que me quería coger, yo no quise, el caso es que como ando con mi ligue en mi salón, Andrea se nos queda viendo. A lo que mi ligue se dio cuenta y de ahi le generó una inseguridad, total de la nada se puso seca asi que le insistí que dijera que pasaba porque pues se le nota cuando no se encuentra bien. Total me dijo que ella siente que yo la veo mucho (cosa que no es cierto, ni siquiera hablo con ella) de hecho una amiga muy cercana a nosotros le andaba diciendo que se relaje porque ya se andaba creando escenarios imaginarios.
Pues todo volvió a la normalidad, pero hace unos dias de la nada dejo de ser cariñosa como al principio, a lo que ella me dice asi de la nada cuando ibamos en el camión "es que yo cuando me esta gustando una persona impongo una barrera porque si llegamos a andar no quiero que use algo que le dije en mi contra", también dijo que ya no lo hace porque siente que a mi no me gusta el contacto físico, a lo cual le dije que porque no me preguntó más facilmente en lugar de andar suponiendo?, al final reconoció su error.
Ustedes que creen que pasa aquí? Ya hablamos que si hay algo en que nos molesta, lo hablemos, pero aveces ella se cohibe mucho.

Hey folks - long and short, I'm looking at trading my older Cayman in in something cushier and more practical (not that the little dude can't haul stuff surprisingly well, but a tiny two-seater has natural limitations. And the roads here are ass, which sucks on sport suspension). A Panamera is definitely an option, as would be a BMW 5/7 or Merc E/S, but given pricing on low-mileage used QPs I'm tempted to go Italian just for the fun of it. Assuming it won't kill me in little headaches, I could rock the trident.
Any of y'all owned one of these for a few years and care to chime in? Particularly, I'm looking at SQ4 models with the turbo 3 liter (living in southern MI, would be nice on snowier days to have AWD to get the mile or so to the grocery). I'm also a decent enough shadetree and we plan on getting a lift for the workshop at the new place, so any DIY tips are welcome.

I have back issues that will call for an MRI just to see what's going on with it. I injured myself while activated with the ANG, but they wouldn't evaluate me--just sent me to a series of physical therapy visits.
I also have hearing loss and allergic rhinitis, and I was deployed to an active burn pit area.
I intend to claim all of the above for disability. If I go with private doctors I expect to have tons of out of pocket costs, but if that route is more beneficial for the claim I will do it. I appreciate any advice!
