My idea is to display it with a card from the pitcher (Kyle Freeland, acquired card,) and the batter (Garrett Hampson.) I have only seen cards from Hampson's Rockies days, and haven't seen his name on the Topps Series Two checklist. Nothing on eBay, either.  | My post looking at the LSG Hank vs Doug Polk bluff was well received , big thanks for the many kind words. Some people asked me to look at Doug’s bluff that ran into Dwan’s boat. I was also curious about this hand, especially from Dwan’s perspective as both the turn and the river seemed tricky and on the river Dwan was accused of running a nitroll against Doug, so I was especially curious to see what the solver does when deciding between call and jam with a middle full house facing a huge river overbet. submitted by livepokertheory to poker [link] [comments] I’m happy to read feedback and criticisms around configurations, that’s why I’m sharing it. I don’t believe there is one final truth and half the fun is seeing how different assumptions change things. I also don’t believe that just because a solver plays a certain way implies it’s the one true and correct way to play. There are so many assumptions necessary, many of them will be wrong, compounded even more in a live setting with lots of live reads and dynamics like the standup game. There’s a saying in stats/modeling, “all models are wrong, some are useful” which I think is very applicable to solver study. This hand in particular was very sensitive to configuration, especially from Doug’s point of view where for all three streets, his decision depends a lot on the specific ranges they’re playing and bet sizing allowed. Hand SummaryQuick hand summary, with 1M effective, Doug raises to 3k from the CO with 54s of spades. Dwan 3bets 77 to 14k from the SB, Doug calls. Flop is Kd7d2s, Dwan flops middle set, neither player has a diamond but Doug has backdoor spade draw. Dwan bets 15k (half pot), Doug calls, turn Doug picks up an open ended straight draw with the 6 of hearts. Dwan bets half pot again of 30k, Doug makes a pot-sized raise to 120k, Dwan tank-calls. River pairs the board with the 6 of spades, Dwan checks, overbets 420k with 5 high, Dwan tanks with his boat and another 600k effective behind but just calls. You can watch it here. Note On Live ReadsEven though I mostly focus on solver work I wanted to quickly share my opinions on live reads. I think Doug did himself a disservice talking up how he was “coming to battle”. Dwan was the big winner of the night and he made almost all of his money with check-call lines. I think Doug wanted to impress fans, Wes wanted to shake the nit reputation, and both of them had reasonable hands to bluff with but also reasonable hands to slow down with with and they both went with the more aggro line and I suspect Dwan was ready for that to happen.In this hand Wes also saw Doug’s hand and said “I like that hand” which sounds like something someone would say for a cute suited connector, not pocket Kings. Doug wants to shake the image of a try-hard pro and be a fun business guy who's good for the game but he may have paid a price to do that in this game. Dwan is not a solver player but he's an extremely analytical players who understands how to beat "the meta" and I think he had both individual live reads in this session but also some ideas on how to adjust to the general attitudes of the players coming into this game. Of course KK ends up being a highly relevant combo later in the hand. The FlopOn the flop Dwan is checking about half the time and betting about half the time, the smaller sizing is preferred by the solver. His sets of sevens leans towards preferring a bet as plenty of top pair and flush draws can call it, and Dwan does bet it.Doug’s response here I found to be highly sensitive to the specific ranges and bet sizes we allow. In almost all of them, fold, call, or raise are all reasonable options (appropriate for Doug). In my favorite configuration, he mostly just calls. Some people are really surprised by these loose flop calls. There’s two things people are missing. First, if you give up to small flop bets too easily, you can be run over since they have way too good a price to just bluff with any two cards. This is part of the reason small bets are so effective live is many players don’t know how to adjust against different bet sizes. The other big factor to consider is that when you’re super deep, it matters less if you have a strong hand now and more if you will have a very strong hand on the river. If Doug made a sneaky backdoor straight against Dwan’s set, he could have coolered him for a massive pot. https://preview.redd.it/gbho2j9oan3b1.png?width=730&format=png&auto=webp&s=4cccf4aabd068c61f30bff835d1bd7249192ccfd The Turn - Doug's Decision to Bluff RaiseOn the turn, Dwan is again mixing mostly bets and checks and his sevens is a that hand can go either way. The point of checking is mostly because you have a lot of one pair of Kings weak kicker, that want to get to showdown. To protect those hands from being bluffed, you check-raise some sets. Dwan decided to lead again for half pot though. The solver does size up more often but half pot is ok and the same EV.For Doug, once again I want to emphasize this spot is highly sensitive to configuration but in the one I thought was best, his open ended is a pure call and his combo draw is a raise. https://preview.redd.it/rdxj366abn3b1.png?width=705&format=png&auto=webp&s=ee63a0a6d62e17727d0e7a442ac5427f2db32873 Doug already has a lot of bluffs with diamond draws. However if you only bluff with flush draws, you have no bluffs on a flush-completing river so, I originally thought his raise makes sense. But, he also needs some bluffs on diamond river when he just calls. For raising on this turn as a bluff, most of the bluffs that piosolver likes are actually turning a mid-pair 7 into a bluff with hands like 87 and 97, which do block 77 and Dwan’s good straight draws. Pio also bluffs with pair + flush draw hands (which turns out to be relevant for Dwan's river deisions). Doug also just calls with some diamonds draw with the good price , so 54 of spades can be a river bluff after a just-call when the diamonds arrive. Overall, I think Doug has plenty of bluffs on this turn and this was not the ideal combo choice since there were better options and it plays fine as a just-call. Again, a lot of subtle details can effect the mechanics of the solver’s favorite combos to bluff with. So I’m not saying was wrong to raise here. But, he has a really strong, sneaky draw and if he just calls and hits a gin straight on the river, it would be really hard for Dwan to not pay Doug off. Dwan also gave Doug good enough odds to just call. But instead of taking a good price for a river card, he bloated the pot while still a big dog. So I do think there’s better combos to bluff with and I agree with piosolver this is better as a call. Either way, Dwan has to decide whether to slowplay and let Doug keep bluffing on river, or to raise now and price out Doug’s draws. The solver mostly just calls. My interpretation is that Dwan has a lot of bluff catchers like AA, KQ here and by calling with sets you protect your one pair hands against river bluffs. Because the solver almost never raises any hand here. https://preview.redd.it/7ixceonibn3b1.png?width=652&format=png&auto=webp&s=f7ff5aafdba1c896107919927a3e1c5db9554b93 It's interesting to me that the solver never wants to protect its hands against all the draws, but I think Doug's sizing is just so big, and Dwan has so many good one pair hands and so few sets, that Dwan has a strong incentive to work the sets into the call line to protect the one pair hands from the river bluffs. The RiverNow to the fun part of the hand. Dwan has a pure check on the river with mostly bluffcatchers and some traps.The river 6s is also a much better card for Doug’s range who is raising the 76, 77, and 66 a lot on the turn. Now given Dwan’s exact hand Doug can never have any 76s or 77 here, but I’m speaking range vs range, Dwan is pure checking. Doug has a full house on this river a whopping 21% of the time vs 10% of the time for Dwan. Now because the solver pure calls on the turn with Doug’s 54 of spades, he doesn’t have it on the river in this configuration so we don’t know if he should bluff with it. However, having played with various configurations, every single time Doug does have this hand he pure bets river with it, mostly big sizing or all in. He has 5 high, he’s bottom of range, he matches hands like 65s, it’s close to a mandatory bluff unless you have a read on reasons not to So while I don't like the turn raise, I do think once this turn raise was put in, you have to go for it on river so credit to Doug for doing so. Now onto the big question of Dwan’s tank. I think part of the reason people thought he might be nitrolling was Dwan’s body language became very negative, which I think was interpreted as considering a fold when really he was frustrated between deciding between a call and a raise. I watched the hand live, and while I see the merits of a jam, it seemed like an easy just-call because Doug was so polarized with the big turn raise and big river overbet, it’s not worth jamming into quad 6s for a huge amount of money. However, in every configuration I looked at the solver pure jams so Dwan was right to think about it. https://preview.redd.it/pwxx09sccn3b1.png?width=702&format=png&auto=webp&s=06f03755f158e7120b46c6f949c61abfdb2f5685 One incredibly important thing to note is that it’s extremely hard for Doug to have KK. I personally think Doug’s always 4-betting it pre. But even if you give it to him, piosolver actually never makes the turn raise with Kings in Doug's spot. Instead he slowplays it. Why? Because KK is such a strong hand and they’re so deep it’s a great hand to slowplay and try to cooler a bottom set or two pair, or try to cooler a flush with a boat. Plus you block your opponent's top pair calls. Both the Hank vs Dwan hand and the Doug vs Dwan hand have boards where there just wasn’t that much going on, it’s difficult for players to be nutted, so you want to make sure you have the nuts in various lines, especially so you can end up on the river coolering them. That’s a key aspect of deep stack play and part of the reason some flop strategies seem loose compared to 100BB. Now if Doug did slowplay KK pre, does he fast play it on turn trying to get money in vs draws? I suppose it’s possible, but overall, Doug does not have much KK. He also doesn’t have much 66, not only is it one combo but 66 sometimes slowplays the turn as well meaning by river its less than one combo. But of course Doug does have 22, maybe K6s, and even some plain trips that had a pair and flush draw on the turn that became trips on the river. Trips are supposed to bet for value against Dwan's one pair hands, and then sometimes call off vs a raise, otherwise Dwan can run him over with check-raise bluffs. Now, does even durrr himself have the balls to check-raise this river with a bluff at the correct frequency? If not, can Doug fold trip 6s, maybe his underboats, in which case there's mimimal value in Dwan jamming. It’s really hard to say. That’s why it’s a genuinely extremely difficult spot for Dwan and not a nitroll. Sure , a call is “safe”, but if Doug has 22 Dwan might be leaving half a million on the table by not jamming. Final verdict: not a nitroll. Mostly well-played by both players, though Doug probably could have simplified his life by just calling turn and hoping to get there, and Dwan probably should have jammed river but it's hard to fault him for not doing so. Chapter Sixty Six: Plotting with Puppy
Entering into the entrance hallway of the apartment Simone tentatively holds up her hand to inform the other two women to wait.
”Something wrong?” Chak asks before looking down at Zrume who sits at her side vigilantly.
The animal’s ears perk up and nostrils flare silently, keeping her own tabs on the situation.
“Hope not, but…” Simone replies in concerned thought, “While I was stranded on the Gratt homeworld and just getting to know Meeki, she was chased and attacked by big burly dogs like Zrume here. Not the same breed of course, but I wanna check in with her before waltzing in, you know? Her only experience with dogs being like that, she probably needs a warning.” she informs.
Chak’s eyes widen slightly and she quickly nods.
“Oh, of course. Yes, that’s a good idea.” she agrees before placing a lower limb on the mutt’s big head.
“Surprised you accepted taking it! You seemed very scared of it at first.” Sonla comments, having been keeping her own distance from the animal thus far.
“She’s a little scary, certainly. Definitely intimidating in size and stature…” Chak grants, “But that look in her eyes… she’s without a doubt a very good natured girl.” she says while gently petting the dog.
“I think so too, but we’re gonna have to be careful introducing her to everyone and make sure she knows who’s a friend. Don’t want her thinking any of them approaching you is of concern.” Simone says before walking ahead to enter the apartment, “You guys wait here, I’ll just be a sec.”
Entering the apartment proper, Simone looks around the circular center hub space. There’s a faint smell of pizza in the air as the empty boxes are still resting on the counter island in the kitchen area. However there is no sight of either Gratt or Terran outside their disheveled mess in the center media couch.
Simone would have felt a but more concerned with how late the three seems to be sleeping in, but the evidence around reveals that they just have been up late having fun while they can.
However, knowing that she still can’t surprise them with the pouch, she walks over to the Gratt’s room and knocks her knuckles against it.
Though when Troy answers it dressed in nothing but a blanket Simone looks over to the other room doors confused.
“Oh, morning dude. Sorry, did I forget who’s room is who’s?” she asks in a chuckle.
“Nope.” the sheepish man replies as he rubs the sleep from his eyes, “Uhm… shoot. Yeah, uhm… Meeki and Nodrin are just waking up too, need me to get ‘em out for ya?” he says as his cheeks redden.
Simone’s eyes gradually expand in realization as she tilts her head enough to see the partially collapsed fortress of pillows and blankets. Nodrin pokes their head and upper torso out from the draping wall in a stretch, while another pair of loving Gratt hands massage their torso in the usual process of separation.
“Hmmmm… morning good Simone.” Nodrin groggily utters as they more fully pull away from their softly chittering partner in a crawl out.
Returning her eyes back to Troy to grant the nude Nodrin a bit of privacy, Simone clears her throat and rubs the back of her head.
“Wow… It looks like you guys had a hell of a time. Uhm… congrats? It seems like it went well. Right, ahh… Yeah...” Simone rambles with several streams of thoughts going through her mind, but she eventually snaps to it by raising her voice slightly, “Meeki? Nodrin? I need you two to get dressed and step out asap. There’s something I need to run by you guys before Chak comes into the apartment.” she calls out to the Gratt before winking at Troy and stepping away and scavenging one of the few remaining cold slices of pizza in the fridge.
“Okay!” Meeki’s voice replies before Troy closes the door to get dressed himself.
Simone updates Chak on the situation with her Lens as she leans against the kitchen island, and only waits for about a minute before the three hurry on out more appropriately garbed. For the most part.
Troy is still shirtless as he wanders out and approaches the kitchen area and starts digging through the cupboards.
Meeki and Nodrin run up to the island by Simone and sit up on the stools. The female wears a gray shirt that’s way too big for her, answering why Troy’s outfit is incomplete.
“Well I’m not seeing much guys, we can try ordering in again. But there’s enough to work with here for some quick and dirty pancakes. Not seeing any syrup or jam, but I think I can make something real quick with these frozen fruit packs in the freezer. Maybe I’ll just throw ‘em into the batter and see if it works out?” Troy tells the duo, seeming to have picked up a conversation they were having while getting dressed, “Oh! And bacon! At least… something that looks like bacon. Definitely not from a Terran animal so I can’t be sure if it’ll cook the same.”
“Sounds much good!” Nodrin agrees as they rest their head in their hands, watching the half dressed Terran get to work, very much enjoying the show.
“What we need to discuss?” Meeki inquires the nearby redhead.
Simone nods before finishing off the slice in her hand.
“Chak and I brought some new friends back home with us, and I wanted to give you a heads up. Probably should’ve messaged ahead… but let’s just say we were a bit distracted. One of them is a Vorook named Sonla. She’s a bit of an infiltration expert and I have a good idea of what she can do in case things don’t go to plan. That said, hold back on details with her for now.” Simone says, to which the Gratt nod, “And… the other is a security service animal that was gifted to Chak by the Z’ah’tuck ambassador. Long story.”
“And I thought we had a wild night… Did you even manage to have that date?” Troy says over his shoulder as he mixes wet and dry ingredients in a bowl.
“Yes, actually. It was amazing, all this other stuff happened afterwards. Anyway, Meeki, Nodrin. I want to clear it with you before bringing the animal in because… it’s a dog. Meeki, I know for a fact that your introduction to dogs was harrowing to say the least, because they were the animals those Gaia people used while invading your home.” Simone addresses the two green folk, seeing a bit of confirmation of her concern in the responding fearful Gratt eyes looking to the entrance door of the apartment.
“The four legged beasts with fur?” Meeki inquires a bit nervously.
“Yep. But I assure you that this one will mean you no harm. Those Dogs that attacked you before were raised and trained to do so. But dogs themselves are domesticated animals that are broadly safe to be around, as long as you don’t make yourself a threat to them. And even then, they may just cower from ya rather than fight. That said, Chak’s new dog Zrume is trained to be a kind of bodyguard. It’s important to know to not act aggressively towards Chak when she’s ‘on duty’, alright? However I’d like to socialize her with you guys here in a sec while she’s ‘off duty’. You know, to make sure she understands you two are friends and permitted near Chak in times of crisis. Is it okay with you two to let them in?” Simone elaborates.
“So… this dog is nice?” Meeki questions for full confirmation.
“Chak called her a sweetheart herself. And I completely agree. As long as you don’t bum-rush Chak for some reason as soon as she walks in, you will be perfectly fine. Just don’t stare into her eyes until she’s comfortable around you. For dogs direct eye contact can be seen as a threat.” Simone answers, “Ready?”
Meeki blinks as she watches the door for a moment longer.
“Yes. Is okay to bring them in.” she nods.
The redhead pats Meeki’s shoulder reassuringly and messages Chak, informing her that she is cleared to enter.
Everyone within the apartment turns to get a look as the entrance opens up to the Cali princess holding a leash to an animal that weighs more than she does.
Meeki relatively takes hold of Nodrin’s hand, but otherwise remains calm as the god is brought closer to the kitchen area.
Chak stops and pulls up a list of provided commands that the canine is trained in.
“Zrume, at ease. Safe zone.” she states firmly, hoping that she did it correctly.
Immediately, Zrume’s posture loosens and even becomes a little wiggly as as she looks down and begins sniffing the ground and nearby furniture within range of the leash’s allowance. Although the leash straightens out, the gentle creature doesn’t pull against her owner’s grip, instead simply shifting her focus to something else.
Quickly that focus comes upon the two Gratt still sitting on stools. Coming closer with caution, Zrume approaches the strangers carefully.
“Lower your hands with palms out, let her say hi first.” Simone advises.
Nodding Meeki slowly obliges, twitching slightly as the animal starts to sniff her clawed hands. Then in a side-rub against Meeki’s legs the dog opens its mouth in a relaxed grin exposing her tongue.
Feeling like permission is granted, Meeki starts to pet Zrume’s shaggy fur along her vertical back.
Nodrin then lowers their hands as well for another sniff-inspection before being enthusiastically allowed to join in on the petting.
Meeki’s nerves gradually fade as the animal proves to be indeed very friendly and well mannered. Nothing like the animals that intended to tear her to shreds way back when.
“Hello Zrume.” she says in a relieving sigh.
At the sound of her name being spoken by this new person the dog arches her head back and up at the Gratt female. Her expression being only what can be defined as ‘goofy sweetness’ with big expressive eyes and a heavy swinging of her happy tail.
Simone covers her mouth, trying to not snort a laugh upon seeing the dog’s dorky nature. Removing her bag from her shoulder she turns to look at Sonla who has been very quietly looking around the apartment and the folks within.
“And this is Sonla. Sonla, this is Nodrin, Meeki and Troy.” the redhead introduces with a moving hand gesture.
The monkey-like lizard stood up from walking on her knuckles to give everyone a wave.
“Hi.” she says a bit awkwardly.
“Welcome to the circus!” Troy greets as he pours his pancake-fruit mixture into a heated and buttered pan. Leaving it for just a moment he leans over on the island and gives the Vorook a big smile, “Want any pancakes? I might have made a bit too much batter while trying to even out the texture.” he offers.
“I’m an obligate carnivore, so no thanks.” Sonla replies as she settles back on her thickly scaled knuckles.
“Oh, sorry, right. My bad.” Troy chuckles as he rubs the back of his neck, “Uhh… what about some bacon? The animal is uhm…” he turns sound to closely read the chilled packaging for the answer, “Premium cloned loamph? Not really sure how ‘premium’ cloned stuff is, but we got it!”
The man flips the package in the air with one hand while the other gives the lizard lady a thumbs up.
“Yes!” Sonla immediately replies as she maneuvers up to the remaining stool by the island, and adjusts it to compensate for her shorter stature.
“You got it!” Troy says with a finger-gun before turning around once more to tend to his cooking.
After a short while seeing the dog is handling the situation well, Chak takes off the leash. Zrume takes this opportunity to step away from the Gratt and further explore the space around her.
“She’s very nice.” Meeki says as she watches the animal sniff around everything that was in her path, “She play or no?” the Gratt inquires curiously.
“Oh yeah. I imagine she’d be happy to play things like fetch and tug-of-war. In fact Chak already ordered toys, food, a bed and a waste pad system to be eventually delivered to the Kwip-chap.” Simone answers before her fiance pressed up against her in a side hug.
“It’s only sensible to be prepared now, rather than later.” Chak defends in a chuckle as she keeps an eye on the pouch, “I just hope the children will like her.”
“I’m sure they will.” the redhead replies as she gently rubs the Cali’s back.
Meanwhile Sonla finds herself staring up directly at Nodrin with an unreadable expression.
“You… alright?” Nodrin asks.
“Why do you have four eyes?” Sonla bluntly counter-questions.
“Ah- uhm… because I was born with four? As most Gratt are. Four eyes not all that strange when it comes to other species. Truba, Carvv and Hallo as examples.” Nodrin answers, confused by the question,
“Well duh, but I mean why does your species have four eyes evolution wise?” Sonla clarifies, “Carvv and Hallo have four to see different light spectrums, and Dillo needed six to look upwards for falling debris in sandstorms and cliffsides. Runeani have eight! I think that is because they needed good depth perception.”
“Oh, so you much study biology science?” Nodrin assumes.
“No. It’s just kinda creepy to look at without context.” Sonla bluntly responds with a shrug,
Nodrin leans back a bit, finding themself a bit offended.
“Much rude… but if it make you comfortable to be around us then I’ll answer the best I can.”
“Sorry. But yes, it’ll help.” Sonla says, although to the Gratt her tone can stand to be a bit more apologetic.
“Very well. They help get more clear vision in dark places. Mostly they help us with close inspection and far distance seeing.” Nodrin explains before pointing at their pair of eyes furthest from the center of their face, “But outer eyes are much special. Our ancestors were aquatic animals and so Gratt’s outer eyes still have extra clear lids to see underwater.”
“Oh. Aquatic?” Sonla questions, “Where did head fur come from then? Are you like mammalian?” she adds with more genuine curiosity.
“I… don’t know…” Nodrin admits, “Gratt study past ancestors much, but we still know little. Though hope new tech from the stars can help with all our sciences.”
“I saw Terran article that said we closely resemble… uhm…” Meeki inserts herself into the conversation before trailing off as she forgets the classification used, “One moment…” she utters as she navigates her Lens to find the article she found, “Ah! Synapsids! Not exactly like, but much comparison. So we are compared to ‘Mammal-like reptiles’.”
Sonla blinks before looking back as the roar of bacon hits a hot pan.
“Huh… Neat!” she replies, “Vorook can’t really swim very well. We tend to sink and even if we don’t we are too top heavy so our heads get stuck underwater. Very funny to see, but also sad. But we are really good at climbing! We can hold on to and dangle from things for long periods of time!”
“But not holding on to speeding shuttles roofs, huh?” Simone teases, as she maneuvers her positioning to get a better line of sight on the sizzling bacon.
“N-no… Well maybe, if it didn’t get so cold so fast.” Sonla says,
Troy looks back at his fellow Terran with a furrowed brow.
“What did you guys get yourselves into?” he says as he breaks into a bewildered laugh.
“I’m sure you’ll know soon enough when you get the chance to look at the news. But by the end of it Chak managed to secure overwhelming Z’ah’tuck support for her and her efforts to take back the throne. Like… military support. Granted, they have a lot to gain from it, but so do we.” Simone reveals as she finds herself a bit closer to the plate where the man was putting down the greasy strips of crispy goodness.
Chak then lets out a genuinely humored giggle that borders on outright laughter.
Confused, Troy looks to Simone then to his other side where Chak is looking. Having somehow sneaked up on him, Zrume sits there while gazing up at him with big pleading eyes with a little line of drool dripping from her maw. Noticing that he is boxed in he turns to Simone and aims his tongs out at her.
“You already pillaged our leftovers, you can wait a few minutes for bacon!” he states sternly in his fake parental tone before turning to the dog.
“Sorry pupper… way too much sodium for you. It’ll upset your guts real bad.” he sweetly apologizes.
As he addresses the canine, Simone swiftly reaches over and silently snatches two hot strips from the plate and retreats back before he is able to notice.
“You motherf-” Troy laughs once he sees both Simone and Chak snacking on the stolen goods, but knowing he would do the exact same drops it immediately.
Simone smirks in victory as she wanders over to the circular center couch to make herself comfortable as they all wait for their other Terran comrades to return from their own mysterious mission.

“Well that wasn’t a complete disaster…” Brandy mutters as she strides ahead of Thorn and Devin with her arms crossed while marching into the apartment entrance hallway.
“Hard to believe we weren’t caught after that water tank collapsed… Almost didn’t have the time to scrub us from all the crossing security footage.” Devin groans in a low grumble.
“Getting caught? How about -oh you know- nearly crashing that tanker shuttle into a residential area!?” Brandy snaps back.
“Not my fault that the pilot passed out.” Devin argues.
“Sorta was, that kinda happens when you jumpscare a Zernth from behind like you did.” Brandy counters.
“It was either lose the target or try to convince the Zernth to turn left.” Devin sighs before he feels a mechanical hand press on the back of his shoulder.
Pushing him to hurry up, Thorn catches up with Brandy where he plants his other hand.
“Mmhmm. Not our best work. But we got the bastard and actually convinced the Squilla ambassador to help us out in our little operation here. Other than some spilled water, we managed to pull it off without a hitch. I say we all learn from the experience and get to what’s further down the trail. Remember what’s at stake.”
“Yeah, you’re right. But still… it’s those stakes that make every mistake feel like I’ve wronged the entire universe. Like it’s heavier than it has any right to be.” Brandy replies as she reaches the door, “One fuck up and who knows how many people will be hurt from it down the line…”
“Aye… but in the grand scheme of it all your actions have had the same weight your entire life, because it led you here doing what you’re doing. Still, you're right, it’s a lot to bear on the heart.” Thorn grants, “My advice? Take a note from Simone’s book. Just keep moving forward and rest in the arms of whoever you want to hold ya.”
“I honestly don’t know how she copes. It’d drive me into a downward spiral of stress and paranoia going through half of what she has.” the woman huffs as she reaches to open the door via indicator.
“Don’t compromise who you are, and preserve your capability to love throughout all of the hell life will march ya through. It’ll hurt, but it’s worth it because that’s how you win life.” the old man states right before the door opens.
“Yooo! Bout time! You guys want some cold pancakes? I can reheat ‘em if you’d like!” Troy cheers from the couch with two Gratt resting at his sides.
“I hope you three have moved from the couch at some point…” Brandy says with an exaggerated eye roll, “Have a good night?”
“Yeah we did!” the man answers both of Brandy’s sentences at once.
“I’m going to set up to get our finalized planning underway. Ten minutes.” Devin notifies as he peels off to his room.
“Good. I hear we have a new member to the crew?” Thorn says as he strides in with his hands on his hips.
As if summoned, Sonla’s head peeks out from behind the other side of the couch.
“That’s me! Master infiltrator Sonla at your service!” the Vorook introduces herself, now standing proudly upon the headrest.
“Master eh? Good… We’re definitely gonna need a master’s handiwork in our lil’ operation.” Thorn chuckles as he scratches at his five o'clock shadow.
“We were also told that we have a doggie?” Brandy asks as she looks around for any trace of the animal.
“Yup! Simone and Chak were just showing her off to their kids in a call.” Troy explains as he thumbs to their room.
As if summoned by Troy’s opposable digit, the door opens with Chak once again holding the leash of the dog.
“Welcome back, I hope everyone is alright?” the princess inquires as she guides Zrume out to meet Brandy first, “At ease, safe zone.” she reminds the animal.
“Why hello there! Oh my goodness I’ve never seen a breed quite like hers before! Like a big pitty and… African painted dog maybe? Has the color at least. Definitely some others mixed in there too, hint of mastiff or something else chunkier? But still all the pretty in a fluffy package!” Brandy says as she scratches under the dog’s wide neck, which is very much approved.
Though the angle of Zrume’s ears change to one of caution and alertness. Turning her head towards the old man who had yet to approach she released a low growl.
“It’s okay Zrume, safe zone.” Chak assures, but the animal’s stare remained intense on the cybernetic man.
Seeing the confusion and concern on everyone’s faces, Thorn raises his hand.
“Don’t worry about it, dogs and I don’t really mix. A shame really, but it’s something to do with how my non-organic bits emit a sound they find very agitating. Like a walking annoying dog whistle. I’ll see if Devin can do anything about that, but in the meantime it’s best if the dog and I keep separate.” he explains.
“Oh damn. Yeah I guess dogs never really approached you before. Bummer. I guess while we sort things out we’ll have her chill in our room.” Simone says apologetically.
“And I’ll bunk up when she needs some runnin’ around time.” Thorn nods back appreciatively, “She’s downright adorable by the way.”
As Chak turns back around to lead Zrume back in her room for the time being, Troy’s eyes go wide and he points at Simone dramatically.
“Shit dude I almost forgot! Someone came asking for you by name.” he reveals.
Looking to him with a bit of fear in her eyes Simone gave him her full attention.
“Who?” She demands.
“Don’t worry I never confirmed you were actually here and she seemed… not like the people we’re up against. She was a tall thin lady who said she was a friend of yours from your academy days? She left a contact card and before you ask, yes I scanned the hell out of it. She seemed to really really want to talk to you.” the man explains as he feels around his pockets and when he finds nothing he shoves his hand down the crevice of the couch until he victoriously pulls the card out of the furniture-void.
He holds it out to which Simone accepts hesitantly.
“Yeah, okay…” she mumbles while looking at either side of the card.
“Just be careful, our options of people who we can trust from your military career are thin at best.” Thorn cautions.
“I know. And… I think I know who it is. Honestly I have no clue how involved she is, if at all… but it’s quite the coincidence she shows up now of all times.” Simone admits.
“Is she gonna be a problem for what we’re planning to do?” Brandy asks.
“If she has nothing to do with the Terran terrorists, then I don’t think so. I’d ignore this completely, but I ought to at least know what she wants to talk about, clearly she knows I’m here anyway. No point in avoiding it, especially if she seeks me out during our operation regardless of her intentions we’re asking for trouble. The other big issue of course, is that she’s still with the Terran Union. This could just be a ploy to get me arrested and into Union custody.” the redhead says as she taps the card in the palm of her other hand.
“Then wherever she wants to meet I’ll come with you.” Chak announces as she returns to her Terran, “I’ll even request for Ambassador Zrreak’s attendance if possible, or at the very least have a representative of his there to show that arresting you would be a terrible political nightmare for the Union.” the princess adds sternly with an affirmative nod.
“Damn you're so hot when you get like this…” Simone replies in jest to alleviate her own nerves, “But yeah, I appreciate it.”
“But first before any of that potential shit-show…” Thorn says as he crosses his arms, “It’s time we put our main plan to paper. We have a president to possibly kidnap and hold at gunpoint after all.”
“Oh… wow. That’s a bit more than ‘less than legal’...” Sonla mutters with wide eyes “Good thing I’m a master of explosives too…”

“She’s a little scary, certainly. Definitely intimidating in size and stature…” Chak grants, “But that look in her eyes… she’s without a doubt a very good natured girl.” she says while gently petting the dog.
“I think so too, but we’re gonna have to be careful introducing her to everyone and make sure she knows who’s a friend. Don’t want her thinking any of them approaching you is of concern.” Simone says before walking ahead to enter the apartment, “You guys wait here, I’ll just be a sec.”
Entering the apartment proper, Simone looks around the circular center hub space. There’s a faint smell of pizza in the air as the empty boxes are still resting on the counter island in the kitchen area. However there is no sight of either Gratt or Terran outside their disheveled mess in the center media couch.
Simone would have felt a but more concerned with how late the three seems to be sleeping in, but the evidence around reveals that they just have been up late having fun while they can.
However, knowing that she still can’t surprise them with the pouch, she walks over to the Gratt’s room and knocks her knuckles against it.
Though when Troy answers it dressed in nothing but a blanket Simone looks over to the other room doors confused.
“Oh, morning dude. Sorry, did I forget who’s room is who’s?” she asks in a chuckle.
“Nope.” the sheepish man replies as he rubs the sleep from his eyes, “Uhm… shoot. Yeah, uhm… Meeki and Nodrin are just waking up too, need me to get ‘em out for ya?” he says as his cheeks redden.
Simone’s eyes gradually expand in realization as she tilts her head enough to see the partially collapsed fortress of pillows and blankets. Nodrin pokes their head and upper torso out from the draping wall in a stretch, while another pair of loving Gratt hands massage their torso in the usual process of separation.
“Hmmmm… morning good Simone.” Nodrin groggily utters as they more fully pull away from their softly chittering partner in a crawl out.
Returning her eyes back to Troy to grant the nude Nodrin a bit of privacy, Simone clears her throat and rubs the back of her head.
“Wow… It looks like you guys had a hell of a time. Uhm… congrats? It seems like it went well. Right, ahh… Yeah...” Simone rambles with several streams of thoughts going through her mind, but she eventually snaps to it by raising her voice slightly, “Meeki? Nodrin? I need you two to get dressed and step out asap. There’s something I need to run by you guys before Chak comes into the apartment.” she calls out to the Gratt before winking at Troy and stepping away and scavenging one of the few remaining cold slices of pizza in the fridge.
“Okay!” Meeki’s voice replies before Troy closes the door to get dressed himself.
Simone updates Chak on the situation with her Lens as she leans against the kitchen island, and only waits for about a minute before the three hurry on out more appropriately garbed. For the most part.
Troy is still shirtless as he wanders out and approaches the kitchen area and starts digging through the cupboards.
Meeki and Nodrin run up to the island by Simone and sit up on the stools. The female wears a gray shirt that’s way too big for her, answering why Troy’s outfit is incomplete.
“Well I’m not seeing much guys, we can try ordering in again. But there’s enough to work with here for some quick and dirty pancakes. Not seeing any syrup or jam, but I think I can make something real quick with these frozen fruit packs in the freezer. Maybe I’ll just throw ‘em into the batter and see if it works out?” Troy tells the duo, seeming to have picked up a conversation they were having while getting dressed, “Oh! And bacon! At least… something that looks like bacon. Definitely not from a Terran animal so I can’t be sure if it’ll cook the same.”
“Sounds much good!” Nodrin agrees as they rest their head in their hands, watching the half dressed Terran get to work, very much enjoying the show.
“What we need to discuss?” Meeki inquires the nearby redhead.
Simone nods before finishing off the slice in her hand.
“Chak and I brought some new friends back home with us, and I wanted to give you a heads up. Probably should’ve messaged ahead… but let’s just say we were a bit distracted. One of them is a Vorook named Sonla. She’s a bit of an infiltration expert and I have a good idea of what she can do in case things don’t go to plan. That said, hold back on details with her for now.” Simone says, to which the Gratt nod, “And… the other is a security service animal that was gifted to Chak by the Z’ah’tuck ambassador. Long story.”
“And I thought we had a wild night… Did you even manage to have that date?” Troy says over his shoulder as he mixes wet and dry ingredients in a bowl.
“Yes, actually. It was amazing, all this other stuff happened afterwards. Anyway, Meeki, Nodrin. I want to clear it with you before bringing the animal in because… it’s a dog. Meeki, I know for a fact that your introduction to dogs was harrowing to say the least, because they were the animals those Gaia people used while invading your home.” Simone addresses the two green folk, seeing a bit of confirmation of her concern in the responding fearful Gratt eyes looking to the entrance door of the apartment.
“The four legged beasts with fur?” Meeki inquires a bit nervously.
“Yep. But I assure you that this one will mean you no harm. Those Dogs that attacked you before were raised and trained to do so. But dogs themselves are domesticated animals that are broadly safe to be around, as long as you don’t make yourself a threat to them. And even then, they may just cower from ya rather than fight. That said, Chak’s new dog Zrume is trained to be a kind of bodyguard. It’s important to know to not act aggressively towards Chak when she’s ‘on duty’, alright? However I’d like to socialize her with you guys here in a sec while she’s ‘off duty’. You know, to make sure she understands you two are friends and permitted near Chak in times of crisis. Is it okay with you two to let them in?” Simone elaborates.
“So… this dog is nice?” Meeki questions for full confirmation.
“Chak called her a sweetheart herself. And I completely agree. As long as you don’t bum-rush Chak for some reason as soon as she walks in, you will be perfectly fine. Just don’t stare into her eyes until she’s comfortable around you. For dogs direct eye contact can be seen as a threat.” Simone answers, “Ready?”
Meeki blinks as she watches the door for a moment longer.
“Yes. Is okay to bring them in.” she nods.
The redhead pats Meeki’s shoulder reassuringly and messages Chak, informing her that she is cleared to enter.
Everyone within the apartment turns to get a look as the entrance opens up to the Cali princess holding a leash to an animal that weighs more than she does.
Meeki relatively takes hold of Nodrin’s hand, but otherwise remains calm as the god is brought closer to the kitchen area.
Chak stops and pulls up a list of provided commands that the canine is trained in.
“Zrume, at ease. Safe zone.” she states firmly, hoping that she did it correctly.
Immediately, Zrume’s posture loosens and even becomes a little wiggly as as she looks down and begins sniffing the ground and nearby furniture within range of the leash’s allowance. Although the leash straightens out, the gentle creature doesn’t pull against her owner’s grip, instead simply shifting her focus to something else.
Quickly that focus comes upon the two Gratt still sitting on stools. Coming closer with caution, Zrume approaches the strangers carefully.
“Lower your hands with palms out, let her say hi first.” Simone advises.
Nodding Meeki slowly obliges, twitching slightly as the animal starts to sniff her clawed hands. Then in a side-rub against Meeki’s legs the dog opens its mouth in a relaxed grin exposing her tongue.
Feeling like permission is granted, Meeki starts to pet Zrume’s shaggy fur along her vertical back.
Nodrin then lowers their hands as well for another sniff-inspection before being enthusiastically allowed to join in on the petting.
Meeki’s nerves gradually fade as the animal proves to be indeed very friendly and well mannered. Nothing like the animals that intended to tear her to shreds way back when.
“Hello Zrume.” she says in a relieving sigh.
At the sound of her name being spoken by this new person the dog arches her head back and up at the Gratt female. Her expression being only what can be defined as ‘goofy sweetness’ with big expressive eyes and a heavy swinging of her happy tail.
Simone covers her mouth, trying to not snort a laugh upon seeing the dog’s dorky nature. Removing her bag from her shoulder she turns to look at Sonla who has been very quietly looking around the apartment and the folks within.
“And this is Sonla. Sonla, this is Nodrin, Meeki and Troy.” the redhead introduces with a moving hand gesture.
The monkey-like lizard stood up from walking on her knuckles to give everyone a wave.
“Hi.” she says a bit awkwardly.
“Welcome to the circus!” Troy greets as he pours his pancake-fruit mixture into a heated and buttered pan. Leaving it for just a moment he leans over on the island and gives the Vorook a big smile, “Want any pancakes? I might have made a bit too much batter while trying to even out the texture.” he offers.
“I’m an obligate carnivore, so no thanks.” Sonla replies as she settles back on her thickly scaled knuckles.
“Oh, sorry, right. My bad.” Troy chuckles as he rubs the back of his neck, “Uhh… what about some bacon? The animal is uhm…” he turns sound to closely read the chilled packaging for the answer, “Premium cloned loamph? Not really sure how ‘premium’ cloned stuff is, but we got it!”
The man flips the package in the air with one hand while the other gives the lizard lady a thumbs up.
“Yes!” Sonla immediately replies as she maneuvers up to the remaining stool by the island, and adjusts it to compensate for her shorter stature.
“You got it!” Troy says with a finger-gun before turning around once more to tend to his cooking.
After a short while seeing the dog is handling the situation well, Chak takes off the leash. Zrume takes this opportunity to step away from the Gratt and further explore the space around her.
“She’s very nice.” Meeki says as she watches the animal sniff around everything that was in her path, “She play or no?” the Gratt inquires curiously.
“Oh yeah. I imagine she’d be happy to play things like fetch and tug-of-war. In fact Chak already ordered toys, food, a bed and a waste pad system to be eventually delivered to the Kwip-chap.” Simone answers before her fiance pressed up against her in a side hug.
“It’s only sensible to be prepared now, rather than later.” Chak defends in a chuckle as she keeps an eye on the pouch, “I just hope the children will like her.”
“I’m sure they will.” the redhead replies as she gently rubs the Cali’s back.
Meanwhile Sonla finds herself staring up directly at Nodrin with an unreadable expression.
“You… alright?” Nodrin asks.
“Why do you have four eyes?” Sonla bluntly counter-questions.
“Ah- uhm… because I was born with four? As most Gratt are. Four eyes not all that strange when it comes to other species. Truba, Carvv and Hallo as examples.” Nodrin answers, confused by the question,
“Well duh, but I mean why does your species have four eyes evolution wise?” Sonla clarifies, “Carvv and Hallo have four to see different light spectrums, and Dillo needed six to look upwards for falling debris in sandstorms and cliffsides. Runeani have eight! I think that is because they needed good depth perception.”
“Oh, so you much study biology science?” Nodrin assumes.
“No. It’s just kinda creepy to look at without context.” Sonla bluntly responds with a shrug,
Nodrin leans back a bit, finding themself a bit offended.
“Much rude… but if it make you comfortable to be around us then I’ll answer the best I can.”
“Sorry. But yes, it’ll help.” Sonla says, although to the Gratt her tone can stand to be a bit more apologetic.
“Very well. They help get more clear vision in dark places. Mostly they help us with close inspection and far distance seeing.” Nodrin explains before pointing at their pair of eyes furthest from the center of their face, “But outer eyes are much special. Our ancestors were aquatic animals and so Gratt’s outer eyes still have extra clear lids to see underwater.”
“Oh. Aquatic?” Sonla questions, “Where did head fur come from then? Are you like mammalian?” she adds with more genuine curiosity.
“I… don’t know…” Nodrin admits, “Gratt study past ancestors much, but we still know little. Though hope new tech from the stars can help with all our sciences.”
“I saw Terran article that said we closely resemble… uhm…” Meeki inserts herself into the conversation before trailing off as she forgets the classification used, “One moment…” she utters as she navigates her Lens to find the article she found, “Ah! Synapsids! Not exactly like, but much comparison. So we are compared to ‘Mammal-like reptiles’.”
Sonla blinks before looking back as the roar of bacon hits a hot pan.
“Huh… Neat!” she replies, “Vorook can’t really swim very well. We tend to sink and even if we don’t we are too top heavy so our heads get stuck underwater. Very funny to see, but also sad. But we are really good at climbing! We can hold on to and dangle from things for long periods of time!”
“But not holding on to speeding shuttles roofs, huh?” Simone teases, as she maneuvers her positioning to get a better line of sight on the sizzling bacon.
“N-no… Well maybe, if it didn’t get so cold so fast.” Sonla says,
Troy looks back at his fellow Terran with a furrowed brow.
“What did you guys get yourselves into?” he says as he breaks into a bewildered laugh.
“I’m sure you’ll know soon enough when you get the chance to look at the news. But by the end of it Chak managed to secure overwhelming Z’ah’tuck support for her and her efforts to take back the throne. Like… military support. Granted, they have a lot to gain from it, but so do we.” Simone reveals as she finds herself a bit closer to the plate where the man was putting down the greasy strips of crispy goodness.
Chak then lets out a genuinely humored giggle that borders on outright laughter.
Confused, Troy looks to Simone then to his other side where Chak is looking. Having somehow sneaked up on him, Zrume sits there while gazing up at him with big pleading eyes with a little line of drool dripping from her maw. Noticing that he is boxed in he turns to Simone and aims his tongs out at her.
“You already pillaged our leftovers, you can wait a few minutes for bacon!” he states sternly in his fake parental tone before turning to the dog.
“Sorry pupper… way too much sodium for you. It’ll upset your guts real bad.” he sweetly apologizes.
As he addresses the canine, Simone swiftly reaches over and silently snatches two hot strips from the plate and retreats back before he is able to notice.
“You motherf-” Troy laughs once he sees both Simone and Chak snacking on the stolen goods, but knowing he would do the exact same drops it immediately.
Simone smirks in victory as she wanders over to the circular center couch to make herself comfortable as they all wait for their other Terran comrades to return from their own mysterious mission.

“Well that wasn’t a complete disaster…” Brandy mutters as she strides ahead of Thorn and Devin with her arms crossed while marching into the apartment entrance hallway.
“Hard to believe we weren’t caught after that water tank collapsed… Almost didn’t have the time to scrub us from all the crossing security footage.” Devin groans in a low grumble.
“Getting caught? How about -oh you know- nearly crashing that tanker shuttle into a residential area!?” Brandy snaps back.
“Not my fault that the pilot passed out.” Devin argues.
“Sorta was, that kinda happens when you jumpscare a Zernth from behind like you did.” Brandy counters.
“It was either lose the target or try to convince the Zernth to turn left.” Devin sighs before he feels a mechanical hand press on the back of his shoulder.
Pushing him to hurry up, Thorn catches up with Brandy where he plants his other hand.
“Mmhmm. Not our best work. But we got the bastard and actually convinced the Squilla ambassador to help us out in our little operation here. Other than some spilled water, we managed to pull it off without a hitch. I say we all learn from the experience and get to what’s further down the trail. Remember what’s at stake.”
“Yeah, you’re right. But still… it’s those stakes that make every mistake feel like I’ve wronged the entire universe. Like it’s heavier than it has any right to be.” Brandy replies as she reaches the door, “One fuck up and who knows how many people will be hurt from it down the line…”
“Aye… but in the grand scheme of it all your actions have had the same weight your entire life, because it led you here doing what you’re doing. Still, you're right, it’s a lot to bear on the heart.” Thorn grants, “My advice? Take a note from Simone’s book. Just keep moving forward and rest in the arms of whoever you want to hold ya.”
“I honestly don’t know how she copes. It’d drive me into a downward spiral of stress and paranoia going through half of what she has.” the woman huffs as she reaches to open the door via indicator.
“Don’t compromise who you are, and preserve your capability to love throughout all of the hell life will march ya through. It’ll hurt, but it’s worth it because that’s how you win life.” the old man states right before the door opens.
“Yooo! Bout time! You guys want some cold pancakes? I can reheat ‘em if you’d like!” Troy cheers from the couch with two Gratt resting at his sides.
“I hope you three have moved from the couch at some point…” Brandy says with an exaggerated eye roll, “Have a good night?”
“Yeah we did!” the man answers both of Brandy’s sentences at once.
“I’m going to set up to get our finalized planning underway. Ten minutes.” Devin notifies as he peels off to his room.
“Good. I hear we have a new member to the crew?” Thorn says as he strides in with his hands on his hips.
As if summoned, Sonla’s head peeks out from behind the other side of the couch.
“That’s me! Master infiltrator Sonla at your service!” the Vorook introduces herself, now standing proudly upon the headrest.
“Master eh? Good… We’re definitely gonna need a master’s handiwork in our lil’ operation.” Thorn chuckles as he scratches at his five o'clock shadow.
“We were also told that we have a doggie?” Brandy asks as she looks around for any trace of the animal.
“Yup! Simone and Chak were just showing her off to their kids in a call.” Troy explains as he thumbs to their room.
As if summoned by Troy’s opposable digit, the door opens with Chak once again holding the leash of the dog.
“Welcome back, I hope everyone is alright?” the princess inquires as she guides Zrume out to meet Brandy first, “At ease, safe zone.” she reminds the animal.
“Why hello there! Oh my goodness I’ve never seen a breed quite like hers before! Like a big pitty and… African painted dog maybe? Has the color at least. Definitely some others mixed in there too, hint of mastiff or something else chunkier? But still all the pretty in a fluffy package!” Brandy says as she scratches under the dog’s wide neck, which is very much approved.
Though the angle of Zrume’s ears change to one of caution and alertness. Turning her head towards the old man who had yet to approach she released a low growl.
“It’s okay Zrume, safe zone.” Chak assures, but the animal’s stare remained intense on the cybernetic man.
Seeing the confusion and concern on everyone’s faces, Thorn raises his hand.
“Don’t worry about it, dogs and I don’t really mix. A shame really, but it’s something to do with how my non-organic bits emit a sound they find very agitating. Like a walking annoying dog whistle. I’ll see if Devin can do anything about that, but in the meantime it’s best if the dog and I keep separate.” he explains.
“Oh damn. Yeah I guess dogs never really approached you before. Bummer. I guess while we sort things out we’ll have her chill in our room.” Simone says apologetically.
“And I’ll bunk up when she needs some runnin’ around time.” Thorn nods back appreciatively, “She’s downright adorable by the way.”
As Chak turns back around to lead Zrume back in her room for the time being, Troy’s eyes go wide and he points at Simone dramatically.
“Shit dude I almost forgot! Someone came asking for you by name.” he reveals.
Looking to him with a bit of fear in her eyes Simone gave him her full attention.
“Who?” She demands.
“Don’t worry I never confirmed you were actually here and she seemed… not like the people we’re up against. She was a tall thin lady who said she was a friend of yours from your academy days? She left a contact card and before you ask, yes I scanned the hell out of it. She seemed to really really want to talk to you.” the man explains as he feels around his pockets and when he finds nothing he shoves his hand down the crevice of the couch until he victoriously pulls the card out of the furniture-void.
He holds it out to which Simone accepts hesitantly.
“Yeah, okay…” she mumbles while looking at either side of the card.
“Just be careful, our options of people who we can trust from your military career are thin at best.” Thorn cautions.
“I know. And… I think I know who it is. Honestly I have no clue how involved she is, if at all… but it’s quite the coincidence she shows up now of all times.” Simone admits.
“Is she gonna be a problem for what we’re planning to do?” Brandy asks.
“If she has nothing to do with the Terran terrorists, then I don’t think so. I’d ignore this completely, but I ought to at least know what she wants to talk about, clearly she knows I’m here anyway. No point in avoiding it, especially if she seeks me out during our operation regardless of her intentions we’re asking for trouble. The other big issue of course, is that she’s still with the Terran Union. This could just be a ploy to get me arrested and into Union custody.” the redhead says as she taps the card in the palm of her other hand.
“Then wherever she wants to meet I’ll come with you.” Chak announces as she returns to her Terran, “I’ll even request for Ambassador Zrreak’s attendance if possible, or at the very least have a representative of his there to show that arresting you would be a terrible political nightmare for the Union.” the princess adds sternly with an affirmative nod.
“Damn you're so hot when you get like this…” Simone replies in jest to alleviate her own nerves, “But yeah, I appreciate it.”
“But first before any of that potential shit-show…” Thorn says as he crosses his arms, “It’s time we put our main plan to paper. We have a president to possibly kidnap and hold at gunpoint after all.”
“Oh… wow. That’s a bit more than ‘less than legal’...” Sonla mutters with wide eyes “Good thing I’m a master of explosives too…”

A little info, The staff claims Mojang/Microsoft have personally looked at their store and deemed them to be within the EULA, bs but if you say something they will straight up ban you. You can also "donate" a min of $200usd to one of the owners when he streams, and you get a "stream item" something with thorns 1000, Sharp 100, and so on, sooo op that its impossible to compete. The club ranks are allowed to bully and harass players without ranks and don't even get a warning. The club ranks also can get away with other rule breaking. like duping, was once a player with the $900+ club rank and a player with a middle rank, both were duping together, middle rank for a perm ban while the club rank got a 1 day ban. Staff is all also complete power hungry shits. An admin once ignored my claim protection so he could kill me while I was on my claim just so he could collect a bounty.

He claims he is, but from things in game I think alot of the codes are copy and paste or bought elsewhere. Like the mystery boxes are a straight up copy of Hypixels. I had a friend join me on Hypixel from there and they couldn't believe how many things were the exact same. and RGA/staffs response when questioned before they ban...."Performiun was first"

Yeah, I used to like Doni and RGA, they were legit funny. But I knew something was up when RGA started making rant vids ordering people not to hack on their servers and don't you dare just VPN and alt around an IP ban "it ruins it for everyone". There were several kids asking in the servers discord why they got banned. They said they joined and the server immediately banned them. Reason was vpn. Kids would say they don't have one, don't know that is etc...and staff was always like "maybe its your service provider" was so dumb. Then they put this in the webstore...

The clubs all have the same commands at rank. Gold = Iron rank, and so on. A few extra commands at the top 3 and with Diamond, Vip, and MVP you get 2-3 hour early access to new servers (getting claims nearest spawn) and a screenshot in game with RGA...lmao

I know right. I had someone gift me a diamond rank once for some unknown reason. So cringe in the "private discord" you get too with those ranks. You also get perks like the gems with these ranks, but you have to buy them a very specific way or you don't get them. I didn't get the I think it was 2,500 gems when I was gifted the rank, I asked the support/owner and they said it was purchased a way that I wasn't entitled to the gems.

Using a throwaway account for safety issues:
Used to be a moderator for this server back in 2019-2020; A player had been heavily harassing me for a week and saying horribly inappropriate things towards me in voice chats and private dms
Reported it to a Sr Mod for help and they brought it up higher ups and an Owner said it wasn't their issue and to just tell me to block them. Didn't find out until months later when another Sr. Moderator had been talking about it to a different moderator who had brought it up to me.
I left the team and regretted it for some stupid reason - and sent them a support ticket apologizing for everything and mentioned to an Admin that I had felt issues weren't looked into and they threw it down again - When I told people - they posted my support ticket publicly and told everyone that I never reported any harrassers and was being a "drama queen".
Super happy this server is being posted in here.

last I played it was 1.17 but I'd imagine they have a 1.18 server. That's what they do, wait a while when a new version is released. Then release a new server and immediately stop support for the older version. Except for people who pay money to transfer items from old server to new server. Think it's like $20 for each "op" weapon and armor piece.

had to make a throw away account so i could post this safely he does make his own plugins, some of them at least, and after working for him for 7 years i can honestly say he is the worst to work with. i wouldnt say its pay to win but RGA is pay to much to have fun, this isnt his only server as well. he own a skyblocknetwork as well. hes been called out for years for padding player count, and spoofing votes to get it higher on vote sites. there is so much i could go into in all my time working there
i worked with him through 2 S.A/ grooming cases that were swept under the rug and watched as a discord admin was harassed by one of the "co-owners" GF at the time. Don't get me wrong the Discord admin was kinda a bitch, but for RGA to let the Berry Admin make war against them and tell them to Commit Sewer slide was a little terrible. it ended with the discord admin leaving the server. not sure where they are now but i hope they got help after that.RGA doesnt give a shit about his staff and what happens on the team, he instead leaves that up to "admins" while he is off making fake hacker videos and fake troll videos.

Because US healthcare is a joke, I am in multiple battles with my insurance. As a result, I constantly get calls from the hospital’s billing department trying to resolve “overdue” charges on my account.
Every single time, they start by asking for my guarantor number (basically the account number for the account that holds my medical charges) as well as my name and date of birth, and then they ask me to confirm the phone number and full address associated with my account for security.
These calls generally don’t include discussing specifics of payment info, though they do on occasion. For example, after a charge sits unpaid for long enough, I’m required to update my payment plan to include it (or else it goes to collections). Because their system sucks, there’s no such thing as “updating” your payment plan. You have to cancel your current one completely and set up a new one. This is particularly annoying because every plan has to be set up custom by them (unless you want to pay the monthly minimum that the system calculates you qualify for, which is always in the thousands). I always make sure to set up my payment plans with a credit card.

2023.06.02 19:38 Divel59 Computer fans stopped working last night.
So all the system fans themselves have stopped; there are 4 of them: 3 on the front, 1 on the back.
The CPU fan is working fine. The GPU fan seems to be working fine; it remains idle until under load, then it spins as intended. It’s just the system fans that expel the heat from the system that seems to have just halted.
They aren’t connected to the SysFan on the Mother Board, because they’re all connected via an RBG Controller, which I think is where the fault is. The controller powers the lights around the fans, just doesn’t seem to be spinning the fans themselves.
I’ve updated drivers. I’ve checked in BIOS which shows CPU fan as fine, but shows System Fan as 0RPM, which I think is because it isn’t connected via that specific port. I’ve never checked those setting when the fans worked correctly, so got nothing to par it with!
I think last time it happened, I fixed it by fiddling with drivers for the graphics card (the versions didn’t seem to match). This time I completely uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing!
I’m going to air blast it tonight and hopefully there may be just some rogue spec of dust blocking some connection, but it doesn’t really seem to be the issue!
Any thoughts would be massively appreciated. I know it’s likely something stupid, and I know I can just point a fan at it in the meantime, but I’ll obsess over it and replace it part by part until I fix it, and that would just take forever! 💀

They aren’t connected to the SysFan on the Mother Board, because they’re all connected via an RBG Controller, which I think is where the fault is. The controller powers the lights around the fans, just doesn’t seem to be spinning the fans themselves.
I’ve updated drivers. I’ve checked in BIOS which shows CPU fan as fine, but shows System Fan as 0RPM, which I think is because it isn’t connected via that specific port. I’ve never checked those setting when the fans worked correctly, so got nothing to par it with!
I think last time it happened, I fixed it by fiddling with drivers for the graphics card (the versions didn’t seem to match). This time I completely uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing!
I’m going to air blast it tonight and hopefully there may be just some rogue spec of dust blocking some connection, but it doesn’t really seem to be the issue!
Any thoughts would be massively appreciated. I know it’s likely something stupid, and I know I can just point a fan at it in the meantime, but I’ll obsess over it and replace it part by part until I fix it, and that would just take forever! 💀

I recently have gotten interested in 40k after playing the Boltgun game and wanted to try out Killteam. I ordered myself a box of Plague Marines to make a Death Guard Killteam. Mainly because Nurgle is cool.

Unfortunately, the card game, while fun, does not feel like the grand adventure such a quest deserves! submitted by Jenabell-Bornshadow to Gloryhammer [link] [comments] After playing a few rounds of the single-player card game, I have come up with an altered rule set to create a dungeon role-play, using only the materials included in the card game! I think the game can go even further, but let me show you how I have been playing! Without further delay, welcome to the Quest for the Vorpal Laserblaster Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex! Legendary heroes of Dundee! The evil lord Zargothrax has begun his ritual to summon Kor-Virilath, Elder God of the 18th Hell Dimension, and destroy the universe! You must enter the corrupted fortress of Crail and take on the Evil Emperor Zargothrax and save the universe! Heroes be warned! You are not yet strong enough to slay one as powerful as Zargothrax. You must first reclaim the Great relics of power, the Hammer of Glory, the Amulet of Justice, and the Legendary Enchanted Jetpack, before you may attempt to fight his Evil Highness. First, the rule changes from the base game. 1) There is no longer a points-win condition. A true Hero of Dundee completes his mission. 2) You may equip three pieces of gear at any time. It does not matter what types they are. Eg. you may equip a weapon and two relics if you chose. Weapons are stored if unequipped and may be re-equipped as needed at any time when out of combat. 3) Rest areas are now shops. The first time you enter a rest area will refill 5 health and choose one of three random pieces of equipment to claim. Separate the knife of evil, Hammer of Glory, Legendary Enchanted Jetpack, and Amulet of Justice from the equipment pile. Shuffle the rest. 3) Layout cards as shown. The layout may be changed to tell any story you wish. 4) Place the knife of Evil under Zargothrax and the Vorpal Laserblaster under Kor-Virilath 5) Place a token representing yourself in front of the 1 health card farthest from Kor-Virilath Legend for Setup - Numbers indicate the health of the monster for that spot. E - for equipment, R - any of the 3 legendary relics, Z - Zargothrax, K- Kor-Virilath, P - Priest of Kor Virilath Gameplay Just like the original, you begin with 2d6 fight, 6 armor, and 20 health. With each turn, you may move one card in any direction. If the card you land on is a monster, prepare for epic fight! You are a mighty warrior, and therefore you attack first. Roll dice according to your Fight score (modified by Equipment if you have any). If your roll is higher than the Monster's Armor, your attack hits, and the Monster's Health decreases by 1 (or more if specified on the Monster card). If the Monster does not die, it attacks you. Roll the dice according to the Monster's Fight stats, and if it is higher than your Defense, it hits you and your Health decreases by 1 (or more if Damage is specified on the Monster card). Some monsters guard powerful equipment! When a monster is defeated, If it had an equipment card, you may now claim it for yourself! Note, With one exception, monsters do not use the equipment the guard. If you travel to a space you have already revealed, nothing happens. If you land on a shop for the first time, restore 5 health (up to your maximum of 20) and chose one of the three equipment cards to keep. The two you did not take are lost. Once you have obtained all three artifacts of power, you may take on Zargothrax. This will be an extremely difficult battle, so beware! Zargothrax wields the knife of evil! If you have a magical dragon equipped or in your inventory (which you must to fight Zargothrax as the dragon guards a relic of power) lose your dragon card, and summon an undead unicorn for Zargothrax, which you must now fight before continuing to fight Zargothrax. Once Zargothrax has fallen, you must slay Kor-Virilath! Once he is defeated, the day is won! A few alternate rules for an easier or harder game. 1) Zargothrax has lost the knife of evil and now protects the Vorpal Laserblaster! In this game mode, He no longer affects your dragon, and you may claim the Vorpal Lasarblaster to use against Kor-Virilath. Shuffle the Knife of evil into the equipment pile. 2) Your armor is weak! In this game mode, your armor has been corrupted by darkness. If you equip any armor, any time you are hit, reduce your maximum armor by one. (never to lower than your starting six) 3) All weapons have been imbued with great power! If you roll at least two 6's when rolling dice, you deal critical damage! Deal an additional point of damage. Be careful! the same applies to enemies! 4) Slippery Fingers! If you roll at least two 1's when rolling dice, you drop any equipped weapons you may have and must now fight unarmed. Defeat the monster to reclaim it! I know this was a long one, But I love the lore of Gloryhammer, so I really wanted the game to reflect it. I took my pc outside to blow off some dust. it was fairly moderate temperature outside, a bit windy but that’s it. I think I left it outside for 60-90 minutes, thinking it’s fine. I had taken off the side panels to clean those aswell. So it was completely exposed to the environment. I then took it inside to also clean the top off my psu with 99% isopropyl alcohol, because I had previously placed a usb hub with a “sticky pad” on it (I had removed the usb hub and placed it elsewhere a week prior when building the pc and everything worked just fine. The glue had remained and was very resilient to get off. I used coffee filter paper first, but seemingly it wasn’t enough so I then used regular toilet paper. The surface of the powersupply contained 2 lines of narrow gaps that were the result of putting it together during manufacturing. I happened to use quite a lot of isopropyl alcohol, but it was still moderate.
I also had to mess around with the cables in the back of the pc because I used the 8pin lian li strimer and I use a 40’s nvidia RTX card which means you get this adapter that connects the card with the 8pin lian li strimer. Due to the orientation I had to twist this adapter, which worked just fine but you can change the orientation of the strimer so I decided to do just that. I used a grounded wrist strap while doing that aswell.
The pc worked just fine before I did these things.
The reason I provide all these seemingly useless details is because when I boot the pc up, it seriously malfunctions. First time It said it booted up into safe mode. All the fans run at what seems at max speed, the bottom and front fans rgb doesn’t light up, and previously I had adjusted the rgb of all components using software to be set to static white but for some reason only the ram and motherboard remains static white. The rest is as it should be when plugged in for the first time. I plug my keyboard and mouse and the rgb of my keyboard is completely messed up aswell. How should I go about trouble shooting?
