2023.06.02 20:36 incomprehensibilitys How to be a Mormon In 73 easy steps. .. Salt Lake Tribune
- Never use the word “Mormon” in describing anything Mormon. Doing so is a win for Satan.
- Drink no coffee, tea or alcohol.
- Eat meat sparingly. (Actually, scratch that. It’s in the Word of Wisdom, but no one pays attention to it anyway, so bring on the burgers. You’re going to need to keep your strength up for keeping all the other rules.)
- Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits in their season. And, yes, funeral potatoes totally count as a vegetable.
- Go to church every Sunday, even when you’re on vacation. God gives you extra credit for this.
- Accept any callings offered by the bishop. (But see also No. 40.)
- Attend the temple once a month at the very least. Always keep a valid temple recommend.
- Do your monthly visiting teaching/home teaching. Er, ministering.
- Send out a homemade holiday gift and card/letter to neighbors.
- Never use a curse word. If you need a library of faux swear options, watch “Napoleon Dynamite” multiple times and absorb its vocabulary.
- Do family history work (genealogy) for your ancestors.
- Show up for moving other people in and out of your ward. Lift with your legs! And keep plenty of ibuprofen on hand.
- Sign up to bring meals to the sick or otherwise needy. These must be home-cooked. No KFC allowed!
- Feed the missionaries — hefty portions. You don’t want emaciated elders or sisters around.
- Volunteer to clean the church/temple when the sign-up sheet goes around. Remember to wear clothes you can get dirty in. You’re keeping the church clean, not yourself.
- Attend ward activities like the Christmas party, the summer swim party, back-to-school parties, etc.
- Hold a weekly Family Home Evening with your children. No crying allowed, from either parents or children!
- Teach your children to do chores happily. (Good luck with this.)
- Be grateful, even for your trials. Trials are really blessings in disguise. Also, they make great fodder for tearful testimonies in the future.
- Keep a year’s supply of food in your basement, even if you never eat any of it. The family with the most wheat wins.
- Do regular disaster planning with your kids, from fire drills to flood plans. You can never be too prepared for the end of days.
- Know how to make important knots with rope. No one knows why this matters, but it does.
- Learn how to build a fire without a match.
- Know the stories of your pioneer ancestors, if you have them, to tell your children on Pioneer Day. (Don’t worry about the gruesome details — kids will love them!)
- Invite nonmembers to attend church meetings and activities. Repeatedly.
- Read the Sunday school and auxiliary lesson each week, so you can participate in lessons. But don’t monopolize the teacher, even if you’re the only one who prepared.
- Figure out how to use beans in fudge making and wheat in chili-making.
- Help with local fundraising activities for the youths, like allowing them to put a flag in your yard even if they break your sprinkler system.
- God expects you to be happy.
- Play “wholesome” games as a family. (Yes, Monopoly counts. The prophet Ezra Taft Benson taught that capitalism is holy, so it’s best to start ’em young.)
- Donate to Sub for Santa or other Christmas charities as a ward/stake.
- But don’t tell the children that Santa isn’t real.
- Sing in the ward choir, even if you don’t sing well, because you can make a “joyful sound.”
- Do NOT NOT NOT have sex before marriage — no making out, either. In fact, just try not to think about sex at all.
- Root for BYU against the University of Utah — “bleed blue.”
- Get your daughters to babysit for poor ward members for free.
- Go on weekly dates with your spouse.
- Don’t steal from the ward’s library or lost and found. (Return your crayons and chalk, dammit!)
- Repent whenever you accidentally use a swear word, as I just did in violation of Rule No. 38.
- Friends don’t let friends get called into the nursery.
- Toddlers get only Cheerios in sacrament meeting. (No Capn’ Crunch or you’ll make the other toddlers jealous.)
- Submit Primary children’s drawings as art for the ward bulletin, even if you can’t tell what it is.
- Eat “better than sex” chocolate cake.
- Drink sparkle punch.
- Participate in Eagle Scout projects no matter how stupid you think they are.
- Have a favorite church hymn — preferably the same as one of the prophet’s.
- Watch out for Gadianton robbers. Also, MLM schemes.
- Know how to cook a marshmallow properly to make s’mores. They’re practically a Mormon invention.
- Be able to make seven kinds of Jell-O salad, at least one with carrots.
- Save seats in a theateamusement park where it’s not allowed, but do it politely.
- Make sure you know how to make funeral potatoes. (Hint: with cornflakes!)
- Drink root beer or milk if you are ever forced to be in a bar.
- Turn regularly to sugar, in huge quantities, as your only vice.
- Keep all church buildings at refrigerator temperatures year-round because men are in full suits and ties.
- Drive to church no matter how close you live.
- Go on a mission the moment you hit the requisite birthday.
- Don’t go to the grocery store on the Sabbath. If you absolutely must, though, do it in another town so no one from your ward sees you.
Women 58. Do feminine crafts like knitting, crocheting and quilting.
- Learn how to bake bread, cook meals cheaply, and can foods. Bonus points if you grow the foods in your own garden.
- Wear makeup, because even an old barn looks good with a little paint on it.
- Do not nurse at church except in the mother’s lounge in the women’s bathroom, which will also be where children’s dirty diapers are changed and disposed of. But modesty!
- Attend monthly Relief Society meetings.
- Decorate your house with Relief Society kitsch.
- No porn shoulders.
- Don’t slam your purse or talk in a shrill tone.
- Be able to sew pioneer bonnets, dresses, aprons, etc., in bulk at a day’s notice.
- Don’t chew gum in church (according to my mother — it’s not ladylike).
- You can have up to one ear piercing per God’s instructions. Getting double-pierced ears is beyond the pale, so don’t push it.
Men 69. Sacrament must be administered and passed by young men in white shirts, only using their right hands. The patterns may vary from ward to ward, but are secret and only for men to know.
- Do not shed tears in any scenario ever, except during testimony meeting, when it is 100% acceptable for you to cry.
- Don’t abuse your children or your wife — except with dad jokes, which you may pile on freely.
- Do play church ball hard enough to get injured or injure someone else. Unless someone winds up in the hospital, the Spirit hasn’t spoken strongly enough.
- Facial hair was fine for Jesus but not for you. The clean-cut look is definitely the Mormon, er, Latter-day Saint look. Oh, and man buns are flat out.

2023.06.02 20:22 Chico237 #NIOCORP~The United States Needs a Shift in Perspective on Mining & a few other odds & ends....
| June 1, 2023~The United States Needs a Shift in Perspective on Mining~ The United States Needs a Shift in Perspective on Mining (csis.org) Photo: JJW Photography/Adobe Stock The energy transition involves more than a move away from high-carbon fuels to low- and zero-carbon fuels. It also entails the fundamental reorganization of the global economy around so-called critical minerals—the metals and other raw materials needed to build electric cars, solar panels, power lines, and other technologies that cut carbon emissions. At the risk of stating the obvious, mines are needed to produce critical minerals, and right now, United States doesn’t have enough mines meet the demands of the energy transition—not even close. While the United States also has to work closely with allies to secure the supply chains for these materials, something has to change at home, too. Like many other U.S. industries, mining was largely outsourced to other parts of the world during the late twentieth century. As a result, global markets for most in-demand minerals are now dominated by the Chinese Communist Party. In fact, of the 50 critical minerals listed by the U.S. government, China is the top producer of 30 of them. “For most critical minerals, the United States is heavily reliant on foreign sources for its consumption requirements,” a U.S. Geological Survey report said. It further reported that domestic metals production fell 6 percent in 2022. Simply stated, the United States needs to build new mines and expand existing mines in the United States. Rather than stop digging, the United States needs to start. To be sure, it will not be easy. Before the passage of landmark environmental laws in the 1970s, including the National Environmental Policy Act and Clean Water Act, the U.S. mining sector was known for polluting practices and indifference to the concerns of neighboring communities. Public anger and distrust proved to be a major factor in the offshoring of U.S. mining after the 1970s. This was understandable, but there were unintended consequences. An “out of sight, out of mind” approach to metals and other mineral commodities took hold, giving tacit approval to toxic waste dumping, the use of child labor, and other reprehensible mining practices abroad. Today, there is an opportunity to write a new chapter for the U.S. mining sector, in which the some of the raw materials for advanced energy technologies are produced here, under close scrutiny, subject to the most protective standards in the world and—above all—with strong public support. The complicated history of mineral extraction in this country must be addressed fully and forthrightly, but it cannot be used as an excuse to keep saying no. At this point there doesn’t seem to be a mine on federal land that is not facing opposition, delays, or rejection. Fortunately, there are already some promising examples of this new approach to mining in the United States. A Sense of Patriotism In southeast Nebraska, for example, the developers of a mine that will produce materials for electric-vehicle batteries have built a strong base of support in the local community. As reported by the New York Times, the mine has secured all the permits it needs to start digging and the developer—Colorado-based NioCorp—is now working with the U.S. Export–Import bank to complete financing for the billion-dollar project. The planned Elk Creek mine will produce niobium, scandium, titanium, and a series of magnetic rare earth minerals. The global market for these minerals is dominated by other countries, including China, Russia, and Brazil. These critical minerals can be used to build the components for electric vehicle batteries, fuel cells and wind turbines. But in conservative southeast Nebraska, NioCorp has found ways to connect with people who are less concerned with the energy transition and more worried about economic issues and national security. The minerals produced at Elk Creek will also be used to make lighter and stronger steel products for the automotive, construction, and oil and natural gas industries, and to build fighter jet engines, among other military applications. “NioCorp is being very thoughtful in how they’re communicating with Southeast Nebraskans,” Senator Julie Slama (R-NE), who represents the Elk Creek area, said. “In Nebraska, we have a sense of patriotism and desire to serve our country.” While the proposed mine still has its detractors, the broad-based appeal of the project has helped maintain a sufficient mass of support, also known within industry circles as the “social license to operate.” Same Rocks, More Value While building new mines is absolutely necessary, it will also be important to make the most of the mines the United States already has. In some cases, existing mines will be expanded, but another strategy is gaining momentum: full-value mining. This strategy identifies new ways to get other metals and other valuable materials out of the same rocks, which improves the economics of the existing mine and reduces mining waste. A leading example of full-value mining is taking place in Utah at the Kennecott copper mine, southwest of Salt Lake City. Last year, the mine’s owner—Rio Tinto— started producing tellurium there as well. The tellurium, which is used to make highly efficient thin-film solar panels, was in the same rocks as the copper. But until last year, it was not cost effective to separate it out, and the tellurium was discarded along with other waste. That changed when Rio Tinto found a U.S. buyer for the tellurium, First Solar, which builds solar panels in Ohio. The deal was “an important step towards securing a North American supply chain of critical minerals to support the clean energy transition,” the mining company said. Old Mines, New Tricks The idea of reprocessing piles of discarded rocks and other mine waste has also gained steam. Innovative companies like Nth Cycle and Phoenix Tailings have developed technologies that can cleanly and safely extract critical minerals from this waste. These breakthroughs also allow for the reprocessing of waste at pre-1970s mines that were abandoned and never properly cleaned up. For example: Regeneration, a start-up mining company is scouting for locations where critical minerals can be produced from abandoned mines and other so-called legacy sites, while creating new revenue sources for cleaning up those sites. According to Corey Fisher, the public lands policy director for Trout Unlimited, an environmental nonprofit with experience in abandoned mine restoration, the work of Regeneration and others “will help both clean up abandoned mines and recover much needed transition minerals.” Confront the Past, Build the Future Abandoned mines are not the only legacy to confront. The quest for mineral wealth in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries was especially cruel to Native American communities. That history, and the distrust it continues to produce, should not be brushed aside in the quest to build a domestic supply chain for clean energy technologies. According to investment research firm MSCI, between 68 percent and 97 percent of U.S. cobalt, copper, lithium, and nickel reserves are located within 35 miles of Native American reservations. Changing minds about mining in Native American communities will be a massive undertaking, and there are bound to be conflicting signals along the way. For example: Lithium Americas, the developer of a Nevada mine that will produce lithium carbonate, a key mineral in batteries, reached a “community benefits agreement” last October with the Fort McDermitt Paiute and Shoshone Tribe that includes job training, local hiring, cultural education, and other initiatives. However, three others—the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Burns Paiute Tribe and Summit Lake Paiute Tribe—are fighting the project in federal court, arguing they were not properly consulted. Conflicts like these can be resolved or even avoided, but the amount of work needed should not be underestimated, according to Daniel Cardenas of the National Tribal Energy Association. “If you want loyal and long-term mining partners who can supply the most environmentally friendly and sustainable critical minerals, start talking to the Tribes now,” Cardenas wrote on Linkedin. A Project-by-Project Focus According to the Bipartisan Policy Center, leaders in the White House and in Congress have plowed billions of dollars into research, resource assessment, and workforce development programs focused on critical minerals since 2020. The area of critical minerals also offers one of the rare slivers of bipartisan light. Among other things, that means allowing national security concerns—such as materials needed by the Department of Defense—to play a bigger role in the discussion, as opposed to only seeing mining through an environmental lens. There are also promising efforts within the Biden administration and on Capitol Hill to speed up the years-long permitting process for mining projects while maintaining environmental safeguards. These initiatives are essential, but it would be a mistake to assume that all the work to build a domestic supply chain for critical minerals can be done from Washington, D.C. in one fell swoop. This endeavor will succeed or fail based on delivering this new positive narrative for mining. And the difference will be whether the neighbors can be persuaded that digging for critical minerals in the United States is not just good for the planet—it is good for them too. Morgan Bazilian is a former lead energy specialist for the World Bank and the director of the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines. Simon Lomax is a program manager at the Payne Institute and a former congressional fellow with the American Political Science Association. Join us in Washington DC for Battery Gigafactories USA 2023, a live, and in-person conference being held 8-9 June at the JW Marriott Washington DC, USA. Two days of discussions will explore the rise of USA's lithium ion battery gigafactory economy and the need to build secure, sustainable supply chains for lithium, nickel, graphite, cobalt, manganese, rare earths and other critical raw materials. China has seemingly set off on a journey into the center of the earth. This week the country has begun digging what will eventually become the deepest hole in China’s history to test drilling technology and further understand the Earth’s underground structure, Bloomberg reported. Once completed, the hole is going to be 10,000 meters (32,808 feet). That’s a little more than 6 miles deep into the earth. The drilling is expected to occur for 457 days and is being led by the China National Petroleum Corp, according to Bloomberg. It will cut through 10 continental strata, which are the various layers of the earth. Once completed it will reach down into the cretaceous system; rocks in that layer of the year date back more than 140 million years. The drilling project is part of the country’s efforts to expand underground research. During a speech back in 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged scientists to break new barriers in different areas including deep earth exploration, China Daily reported. And earlier this year, Chinese officials vowed to strategically build up the country’s energy supplies and mineral resources. “China will launch a new round of domestic prospecting operations, focusing on strategic bulk minerals that are in short supply,” Wang Guanghua, the minister of Natural Resources, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency, according to Bloomberg. This could explain why the project is based in the Xinjiang region, which is the largest oil and gas-producing area in the country, the South China Morning Post reported. China also has some of the world’s largest crude iron ore reserves in the world, which is widely used in steelmaking. This could present another energy opportunity for the country as it tests drilling technology. Countries around the world are increasingly focused on mineral exploration. Rare earth minerals and other elements found deep underground are necessary for new clean technology. They’re often used to make batteries for electric vehicles, for energy storage, and for wind turbines. And as the market for more clean energy continues to increase, nations and businesses will need steady access to those minerals to keep up with demand. https://preview.redd.it/a5r5gi3qcn3b1.png?width=191&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a070512b1e2d65404c884978b59127efc3f3183 Form Your own Opinions & Conclusions above! You won’t be waiting long, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally coming out.
After a grueling five-year-long wait, Marvel fans everywhere will finally be able to return to the animated multiverse with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The upcoming sequel's predecessor requires no explanation, as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse not only ensnared audiences and critics alike but also caught a prestigious Oscar win with a Best Animated Feature award. With "New York's one and only Spider-Man," Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), now becoming a household name, fans of the first film eagerly awaited the day they could see young Miles swing into the Spider-Verse again.
Thankfully, the wait is almost finally over, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will return to screens soon. This time Miles will not only be reunited with Gwen Stacey (Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) but he'll also be introduced to an entire multiversal society of Spider-people created and led by a particularly pessimistic variant of Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac). Though some of the other variants in this secretive organization view Miles as a nuisance more than anything else, they'll have to learn to put those apprehensions aside if they hope to save the multiverse from an all-new terrifying threat. As the release date for the sequel to one of the most celebrated Spider-Man films ever made crawls closer and closer
Everyone's favorite web-slinger from an alternate dimension returns for a second theatrical outing. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse continues the multiverse-spanning adventures of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), one of the youngest and newest iterations of Spider-Man in his home dimension. A year after the events of Into the Spider-Verse, Miles is introduced to the Spider-Society, an immense organization of different Spider-People who hail from countless alternate dimensions.
The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only one day away, and fans can’t wait to see the new adventures of Miles Morales. Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Here is precisely where and how you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online.
When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.
When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.
How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!
Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:
As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Watch Now: Spider-Verse (2023) Movie Online Free
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.
In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.
This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.
When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
This tracks with some of Sony's bigger releases of 2022. Films like Uncharted and Bullet Train were released on Netflix six and five months respectively after their release in theaters. Of course, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse could have other elements that see it release before or after this tentative six-month period, such as underperforming or exceeding expectations at the box office. Although, based on Sony's track record - including that of the first film - Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse can be expected on Netflix in the winter of 2023, likely December for a holiday release.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Disney Plus release date.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes from a joint effort of directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The movie will swing into theaters on June 2, featuring the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, among others.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

Link: https://osemtv.co/en/movie/569094/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel.

Sony Pictures! Here are options for downloading or watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch marvel's latest live-action adaptation movies at home. Is Spider-Verse 2 available to stream? Is watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse on Peacock, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
Link: https://osemtv.co/en/movie/569094/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel.

Enjoy!

Link: https://osemtv.co/en/movie/569094/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel.

2023.06.02 19:46 MishaalRahman Android 14 adds new APIs that apps can use to check your phone's battery health (YMMV)
I bought a used Pixel 7 Pro recently and thought it was a shame that Google's battery health feature hasn't been released. I think it'd be nice to see how many charge cycles it's had before I bought it or what the estimated % of its original battery capacity is. Fortunately, Google added new APIs in Android 14 that make it possible to get this data...kinda!
For context, when Google released the first Android 13 QPR1 beta,
I discovered a new "Battery Health" screen tucked away in Settings. It was just a placeholder at first, but
it got worked on a bit throughout the Android 13 QPR betas before being
removed in Android 14 Beta 1. However, like with many features Google develops for Pixel phones, the underlying APIs are or will become part of AOSP. In this case, I identified several new APIs added to
the BatteryManager class that pertain to battery health. These include APIs to get the:
- Charging cycle count
- Charging status (Unknown, Charging, Discharging, Not charging, Full)
- Charging policy (Default, Static, Adaptive, Always charging)
- Battery manufacture date
- Battery date of first use
- State of battery health (remaining estimated full charge capacity relative to the rated capacity in %)
Of these APIs, only the first two (charging cycle count & charging status) are "public", ie. they're available through the Android SDK provided by Google. The remaining four are marked as system APIs, which means they're not available in the Android SDK. That's not a big problem as
there are ways around that, but the bigger problem with non-public APIs is that they're usually inaccessible to third-party apps due to missing permissions.
In this case, though, I found that these four APIs can be accessed by any app that holds the
BATTERY_STATS permission. BATTERY_STATS has a protection level of signatureprivilegeddevelopment which means it can be granted to apps signed with the platform certificate (signature), apps placed in priv-app directories (privileged), or apps that have been manually granted the permission through ADB (development). The last option is viable even on unrooted devices, which means the permission can be granted to a third-party app that can utilize these APIs to retrieve battery health data.
Using that knowledge, developer narektor created a proof-of-concept, open-source app (called "Batt") that simply reports the battery health data returned from these new APIs in Android 14.
You can download the app from GitHub for free. After installing it, run this command to grant it the BATTERY_STATS permission:
adb shell pm grant com.porg.batt android.permission.BATTERY_STATS
Alternatively, if you install it with the -g flag (ie. adb install -g), it'll be granted the permission upon installation. Or if you have Shizuku set up, the app can grant itself the permission.
Here's an example of what kind of data the app can report (note this screenshot is of a slightly older version). Now here's where the YMMV comes in: I don't know how accurate the stats will be on your device. The app just reports what the APIs return, which in turn depends on whether the stats are actually tracked by the charging IC and whether the HAL supports this feature.
For example, the "first usage date" reported on all the phones I tested is obviously incorrect. For some reason, Google set the range to be from 2020-12-01 to 2038-01-19, so if the value reports 2020-12-01, that's just because it's the default. (If your device reports an obviously incorrect value, like the Unix epoch, the app hides it until you tap "show" at the bottom.)
As an alternative, Tasker by João Dias is also adding these battery health stats soon. You'll be able to get them through the
"Get Battery Info" action in case you want to run some automations based on this info.
Enjoy, and don't blame me if you're getting inaccurate results! Hopefully Google bakes this directly into Settings, and hopefully OEMs configure their devices to correctly report this info to the OS so we can all have accurate battery health data available to us.
And yes, I'm aware that X or Y OEM already offers battery health reporting. What's beneficial here is that there's now a standard API and a standard way for vendors to report this info to the OS.

The figures released recently regarding the US employment situation were pretty rosey, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly report signaling a gain of 339,000 jobs for May, but how does this compare with another less well known but perhaps more reliable government statistics that try and tell us something about the labor market.
First off, how dependable is this element of the report? Among a host of other challenges involved in understanding the household and establishment surveys that make up the BLS report (which I have discussed elsewhere) there is the fact that all data in these surveys are SEASONALLY ADJUSTED. This sounds like a means to take seasonal factors such as weather into account when calculating how many jobs were created or destroyed, but they're really a practice by which long-run averaging is used to disguise volatility in the figures.
The downside to this is that it can misrepresent the actual situation. Say the economy's been in a slump for a prolonged period and the average of jobs lost each month is -300,000. Then a number above -300,000 for a given month even if still negative at say -100,000, could still be counted as positive because it is above the average. The same goes for positive numbers; with an average of +300,000 jobs a month a number below that, say +200,000, could be ADJUSTED to show a less positive or even negative number. This is to some extent an oversimplification of the process but gets across the manner in which such figures are constructed. And the same sort of method is also applied to the unemployment rate and all other economic date from the government. So we can see how reliable much of this is.
In fact in the jobs report published for July 2021 this was stated outright when the bureau wrote “[s]taffing fluctuations in education due to the pandemic have distorted the normal seasonal buildup and layoff patterns, likely contributing to the job gains in July. Without the typical seasonal employment increases earlier, there were fewer layoffs at the end of the school year, resulting in job gains after seasonal adjustment. These variations make it more challenging to discern the current employment trends in these education industries.” (The Employment Situation July 2021 p. 3)
https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_08062021.pdf I doubt very much their overall methodology has changed.
So think of it, some months when jobs are actually gained we see a loss and in some months when there are really losses we're told there are gains.
A better if still imperfect measure of the jobs situation can be found in another measure in the BLS report called the Employment-Population Ratio. This number tries to compare the actual number of people with a job to the entire working age population of the United States. Unfortunately it fails to take into account the number of stay at home mothers, who actually are not in the labor force, but in our modern world this is such a rarity that statistically it shouldn't impact the overall data too much.
In this month's report the EMPLOYMENT-POPULATION RATIO FELL 0.1 TO A SEASONALLY ADJUSTED 60.3 That means jobs were actually lost this month not created and that 39.7% of people are without a job. If we subtract the about 11% of the population who are actually retired we get a jobless rate of at 29%, and without the seasonal adjustment used to massage these numbers they could be still worse. (The Employment Situation for May 2023 Table A)

2023.06.02 19:12 SeriousPhilosopher43 Locator 42 timeline – Minor’s 2nd passport (received both new passport and expired passport)
DOT: 7/16. The whole process with expedited services took about 9 weeks. We are in CA .
3/27 – applied passport at local USPS with expedited service and 1-2 day shipping.
3/31 – application received at locator 42 shows “in process” with 7-9 weeks processing time.
4/20 – called 1-877 number and tried to request locator 42 to mail the expired passport along with the new passport in the same package because my kid’s 10-year foreign visa is on the expired passport. 2-hours waiting time (I entered the call-back number then the rep called me back). The rep was not friendly at all; she told me there is no way that she could enter a note in the system and told me I have to wait up to 8 weeks for the expired passport to arrive after I receive the new passport.
4/24 – wrote a letter and mailed to locator 42 and requested them to mail back the expired passport with the new passport.
5/8 – contacted senator’s office and requested their assistance after completing the privacy release form and travel info. Caseworker replied after an hour and told me she will send an inquiry to the passport center on 5/15.
5/15 – received confirmation email from the caseworker that she sent the inquiry to the passport center.
5/17 – called locator 42. A nice lady answered the phone after one try. She told me that my senator’s office had sent an inquiry, so I’d better follow up with my caseworker later. But she did tell me that locator 42 was trying to rush the applications with the travel dates in May. She helped me to put a note in the system asking them to mail the expired passport along with the new passport back when it is ready.
5/22 – contacted caseworker for status. She told me to wait until the week of 5/29 as expedited service could take up to 9 weeks.
5/24 – called locator 42 again. A nice lady answered the phone after nine tries. She confirmed the DOT with me and told me that she saw a note in the system. She told me that my kid’s application will be processed soon, also told me to go online and check the status next week (week of 5/29).
5/30 noon – status changed to “Approved” with delivery date on or around 6/2.
5/30 evening - status changed to “shipped” with USPS Priority Express tracking number provided. When I searched tracking number, it shows “Label Created, Not Yet in system” on USPS website.
5/31 Late Afternoon – in transit expected arrival before 6pm on 6/1 per USPS tracking. Being shipped from Hot Springs, AR instead of New Orleans, not sure why.
6/1 – New passport arrived at 11am. Expired passport is not in the package. I called locator 42 and Christine answered the phone. She is super nice!!! She checked and called me back letting me know they were mailing the expired passport to me, and I should have it by tomorrow 6/2. She also called me back again and provided the tracking number after one hour. To be delivered by UPS Next Day Air.
6/2 – Expired passport arrived at 10am through UPS.
I signed up for email notification but I did not receive any email with status change at all. Thanks to locator 42 and the senator’s office. I ended up speaking with three different people at locator 42 but all of them are super nice. Tips: get expedited service with 1-2 day shipping, do not gamble with time because you do not know what’s going to happen; contact your senator or congressman’s office for help if needed (one of them should be helpful); call specific locator for inquiry and be polite over the phone. I am sure that the help from my senator’s office caught their attention at least. Good luck to everyone!

When Does The Honeymoon Release?
The Honeymoon will finally zoom to the big screen on Friday, May 19. The release comes after a series of delays, which first began after the movie was slated to release over two years ago in April 2021. Its next release was scheduled for April 7 of this year. It was shifted once more to its current release, likely to capitalize on the approaching Memorial Day weekend. The Honeymoon will join a theatrical lineup that includes Book Club: The Next Chapter, Fool's Paradise, and the forthcoming live-action TransformersRisehd.
If you would rather wait to watch it from the comforts of home, keep reading below, so you can learn more about the movie’s streaming and home media release details.
It will not be available on any streaming platform, nor will it be available to rent or buy via any digital or VOD service such as Peacock.
Where to To Watch The Honeymoon
As of now, the only way to watch The Honeymoon is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, May 19. You can find local shows on Fandango, IMAX, Regal, AMC Theatres, Cinemark, Cineplex, Landmark Theatres, Alamo Drafthouse and Harkins Theatres.
Watch Now: The Honeymoon (2023) Full Movie Online Free
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube and Apple, or become available to stream on Peacock.
However, it will be available to stream on the Peacock platform soon. Peacock typically follows a 90-day period before its theatrical releases come to the streaming platform. That means we may see the live-action version of "The Honeymoon" come to Peacock as early as August 2023.
How to Watch and Stream The Honeymoon:
Like the previous Fast and the Furious movies, the only way you can see The Honeymoon is by speeding to your local movie theater. But don't worry, because we may already have a clue as to where the film will live for streaming.
As for an exact date on when The Honeymoon will move to streaming, it's hard to say. While there's no official word on a streaming date, most Universal films land on a site four months after they hit the box office. If this pattern continues to play out, viewers can start looking out for The Honeymoon starting mid-September 2023.
When the time comes for The Honeymoon to stream on Peacock, you'll need to make sure you're all ready to go. If you don't have an account yet, you can always sign up for a free version ahead of time. But as with many recent films on the site, you'll need to opt into plans that start at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year in order to watch them. Once you're set up, click on the movie's title page on Peacock's official website or on the Peacock app.

You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
Is The Honeymoon streaming on Netflix?
We’re sorry to report The Honeymoon is not going to be streaming on Netflix. The movie is set for an exclusive theatrical release on Friday, May 19, 2023. That means the only way to see it is to head to your local cinema.
As the project is a Universal Studios production, that also means it won’t stream on Netflix following its theater run. That’s because Universal is owned by NBC, which has its own streaming service. Eventually, around 45 days after it being on the big screens, the sequel should begin streaming on Peacock. That puts us at around mid-July. However, with the expected popularity of the movie, the studio may choose to keep it in cinemas longer.
The Honeymoon will not be available to stream on Netflix. This is due to the deals that Universal has in place with both Peacock and Prime Video.
Will The Honeymoon Be On HBO Max?
No, The Honeymoon will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Currently, the only Fast and Furious film on HBO Max is the newest one: F9 (2021). When HBO Max soon rebrands to Max, it's likely the film will be dropped altogether since the focus will mainly be on Warner Bros. Discovery content. Fortunately, F9 has already found a new home on Peacock as of May 12. The Honeymoon will likely be streaming first on Peacock after its time in theaters as well. Universal currently has a deal with the streaming platform to bring their movies to Peacock following their time in theaters.
When Will Fast & Furious 10 Be On Streaming?
There's been no official announcement regarding The Honeymoon's streaming release date, though we know it will eventually be released on Peacock, rather than Netflix or HBO Max, thanks to a deal between the streamer and Universal.
The Honeymoon was released by Universal Studios on Friday, May 19—exclusively in theaters. This means the movie won't be available to watch on any streaming services for the time being. Once its cinematic run is over, you can expect a short wait before you can rent or buy it on home release. The Honeymoon is also expected to stream on Peacock after its theatrical run as part of Universal Picture's deal with the streaming platform. A streaming date has not yet been announced.
While you're waiting to drive into the world of The Honeymoon online, why don't you prep yourself with a Fast and the Furious movie marathon? That way by the time it drops, you'll be all prepared to properly race back into Toretto's atmosphere.
Will The Honeymoon Be Streaming On Peacock?
The Honeymoon seemingly falls into Universal’s exclusive streaming deal with Peacock, which stipulates that Universal’s new movies will begin streaming on Peacock within four months of their theatrical release dates (via NBCUniversal).
While a Peacock release date for The Honeymoon has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate based on another recent film distributed by Universal Pictures. Cocaine Bear was released in theaters on Feb. 24 before joining the streaming platform on April 14 — a little over 45 days after its debut. If The Honeymoon follows the same trajectory, it should come to Peacock by early July 2023.
However, other movies like Nope have taken a little longer to reach the streamer (more than 100 days, to be exact) so it’s best to take this estimate with a grain of salt.
Is The Honeymoon on Prime Video?
No, The Honeymoon isn’t on Prime Video for streaming or rental just yet. We’ll keep you posted when we know more about the streaming home for the latest movie in the high-speed franchise.
Is The Honeymoon Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new action thriller The Honeymoon on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
When Will The Honeymoon Be on DVD and Blu-ray?
Physical format releases for The Honeymoon have yet to gain an on-sale date. Though viewers can expect DVD, Blu-ray, and possibly 4K HD options to hit stores, it will be at least a month's wait, give or take, from the theatrical release date. Additionally, the Digital and VOD releases will most likely arrive first, with DVD and Blu-ray following a few weeks after.
What Is The Honeymoon About
The Honeymoon continues the story of Dom Toretto and his street-racing "family." Here's the official overview for The Honeymoon from Universal:
Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.
